Hands down my favourite strain. Such a great pheno I got to grow - looked different from other grows with the same strain. It grew fast and big - unfortunately I really didn't manage the training aspect too well and it got too big for the space and light. It showed wonderful purple leaves and buds - absolutely covered in resin glands. Incredible strawberry scents whilst hanging to dry - not like weed at all. The smoke is very very very strong... half way through a joint you well and truly feel it creeping on and it doesn't stop for a few hours. Very smooth through a vape (@180*C), with less full on effects and tastes wonderfully fruity and pungent. Can't wait to grow this again just for the experience - opening the curing jars puts a real smile on my face - every day.

Reviews. Nutrient
Great line for the vegetative phase. I personally struggled with it when the plants started to flower as I needed to reduce N and couldn't based on the line being an equal mix of A&B throughout a grow.
Definitely helped the plants along in the early stages when nutrient uptake problems started to show.
GHE Flora series worked very well for me and was very easy to use with clear instructions and applications. Switched to this line half way through the flowering phase. Love the simplicity of the Flora range and ability to really fine tune what you are fertigating. Can't wait for the next crop to use this line all the way through.
Reviews. Lamp
Bright, bright - quality light. Perfect form for a 4'x2' grow space. Whilst my buds were all small during this crop, I believe the problem was due to my growing techniques and high N nutrient feed during bloom. This light has many wonderful harvests already documented and I can't wait for my next crop.
Reviews. Tent
This is the second grow in this tent and whilst the inside remains in good condition, light leaks around the entire seam area is very evident and worsening. I personally very much like this tent for its size, format, and inclusions. However the quality is lacking. The water tray floor seems to have the reflective material being scratched off from regular use. I'm not sure how much longer the light leaks will not be a problem in flowering cycles - it is still dark inside with lights off.

Harvested the plant in 2 stages over a 2 week period. Lower buds got exposed to more light and definitely seem to have ripened further since the tops were harvested. Fertigation was resumed using GHE Ripen for first 5 days followed by a flush and water only (no pH adjustments) for the last 8 days. The remainder of the plant was trimmed, manicured and separated into A, B grades and trim/larf buds. The buds and sugar leaves are completely covered in resin glands - glistening away in every angle. The last harvest was done after an extended period of darkness (24hrs). Trichomes across the board looked good and ready with 70% cloudy, 10% amber and 20% clear. I found the right tools make a huge difference alongside harvesting in stages (e.g. tops first then 10 days later the lower layers). I suffered the same last year with the trimming but it's been a very different experience with this crop. I've linked the two tools I use. Also think the strain itself makes a difference based on its flower structures. I wet trim all the fan leaves immediately then after 1-2 days of starting the drying process (buds hung) I do the trimming and manicuring over 1-2 days. Music always helps :) https://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-HGPP400C-Precision-Curved-Pruner/dp/B005449D3W (just great for initial trim) https://www.amazon.com/Chikamasa-Stainless-Scissors-Fluorine-Resin-resistant/dp/B00JSYB9I6 (a must have for final manicure) The drying buds had a very strong strawberry smell after being hung, whilst during the harvest and trimming there was no noticeable scent of weed. Really great stealth type of plant for harvesting :) Used the tent as a drying area maintaining a higher humidity of 50-60% between 17-19*C to extend the drying period whilst hung. Buds were placed in jars once dry to touch then managed until in the curing zone. Dry weight includes grade A/B buds, and excludes larf & trim (which was over 90g). There were 2 different plants grown in this crop under the one light so the yield is great for me even though bud development was problematic. This has been one of the more fun and exciting learning experiences in my life. Awesome people around with lots of great advice which help when you're struggling at a point. Thank you to all those who followed along, kept up the banter and shared their experiences. The best we can do is share our experiences ... what you do with it all depends on you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The grow setup includes; - Secret Jardin DS120W tent (120cm x 60cm x 180cm) placed inside the bedroom. Passive & active intake of air is from a closed off section of the room where the central heating boiler sits - the intake is warm air (20 degC.) and fairly dry (40% RH) during the winter months. - Mars Hydro SP250 LED light - extraction fan - AC Infinity Cloudline T6 - ventilation fans - aquarium heater - small oil heater - small dehumidifier - 20L Airpots and 3.5L general pots for seedling stage - Canna Coco substrate and nutrients - GHE Flora trio nutrients - pH and EC/TDS meters - 2x Govee Thermo/Hygro meters (one at canopy the other at the roots level)

I would appreciate feedback on the defoliation exercise I carried out this week (see videos and pics - before/after defoliation), specifically - should I have defoliated a lot more and if so, should I consider doing that now.. wk 3 of flower?

Hi HazeyBobby Would love to have a friend with a growth like this. Amazing job mate. I think you looking really good man towards a massive harvest. I made a research for you. Defoliation at this stage. Week-3 flower. And it looks you are fine with defoliating more if you want and need to. Defoliate the plant right before switching to the flowering stage, then defoliate once again at week 3 of the flowering stage. This is what I do with photoperiod plants and I’ve gotten good results with it. I suggest you start with this if you’re not sure what to do. Week 3 & 6 defoliation – I’ve heard some grower like to move everything down 3 weeks, and avoid defoliation right at the beginning of the flowering stage. In this case the first defoliation would happen at the end of week 3 of the flowering stage, then a second defoliation end of week 6. I’ve never tried this method And Your main goal with defoliation in the flowering stage is to expose all your main buds to light and air. Exposed buds simply grow faster and fatten up faster than buds that have been hidden by leaves. Try to focus on removing the bigger fan leaves you done this already. As in veg, you should still be removing any leaves that are laying on top of each other, and focus on removing those lower leaves (only bigger fan leaves) on the plant if possible. This defoliation will decrease the chances of mold and help release energy to be put into the colas. Hope this helps and good luck.

In day 32 of flowering and getting worried about the lack of bud development (see last photo on week 12). Should I be expecting more at this stage and what can I look to change? The plant looks healthy otherwise - any experienced help would be greatly appreciated

Bud development speed is going to be largely dictated by light power and not by time. Time is just a ballpark estimate seed companies give but a 1000 watt hps is going to flower quicker than a 240 watt led. Light = food for the plants and if you want them fat they need to eat. Another variable is how big your plants are. The bigger you are the more food you need to eat to grow, same for plants. This is why defoliation is so key. If there is too much plant matter then the food is spread thin to all the different parts of the plant. In short, more light will help and so will defoliation. Excellent return for an excellent pheno, I respect your choice to have another go with this strain, I’ve been smoking her for the last 4/5 months and still haven’t got bored! Really, great return gpw wise. I look forward to seeing you boss your next grow 😊

@NuggetPawn, that's so great to hear mate :) I'll definitely be smoking this for the next 6 months! And considering the small bud development, the total yield between the two plants in the crop blew my expectations from a gpw metric basis. Started my next grow but as an experiment only with one plant - storing way too much weed for my liking :)

@HazeyBobby, No problem at all man. Accolades are well deserved. You killed this grow and it looks sooooo good. Seeing the big yields people pull on here is great motivation to make changes. I tripled my product yield from grow #1 to #2. Insane what we can do! The berries! Haha. You're right. Doesn't even smell like weed. Looks like weed, but smells like a bushel of berries. It's a great surreal smell and man it must taste good too. On to the next grow my friend! Happy coincidence😊. I wish you the best of luck this week, brother👌. Stay healthy, stay safe😀

@JinksyGrows, really appreciate that from you. The entire experience with that plant was just wonderful - I can now see how some growers are yielding incredibly from this strain. The strawberry smell is really something too - very unlike weed - but the high just wack - it's strong weed. Every bud I touch just leaves a pile of resin around the place. We are starting another crop near the same timeframe :) best of luck and enjoy 😀

Awesome looking grow man !! I'm running the same light that you have, its obviously is getting great results. Do you like the light so far ??
HazeyBobby
HazeyBobbycommented5 years ago
@xX_The_Chef_Xx, I love the light. It's perfect for a 4x2, quality build, bright bright light and the plants seem to love it. The bud development issues in this grow are probably related to my fertigation. When I first bought the light I brought in 4 big plants grown outdoors for 2 months and they just loved it under the LED. I've seen some big beautiful buds grown (by others) under this light. Enjoy your grow, and I'll follow along.

Just a thought but from what I remember if you're growing in coco your pH should be around 5.6-5.8 so your plant may be finding it hard to take up nutrients. Hope it all goes well for you

expect much more growth until week 3 of flower and still plenty of nitrogen until week 2 of flower if not I had lime colored leaved at bud sites but it did not affect the yield at all.
GreenHouseLab
GreenHouseLabcommented5 years ago
@HazeyBobby, for sure indica’s usually have significantly less stretch than Sativa’s. Pure Sativa’s are sometimes grown in a 12/12 method from seed to control it’s height and they also require less hours of daylight.
HazeyBobby
HazeyBobbycommented5 years ago
@GreenHouseLab, thanks for the notes - I did read somewhere about getting caught in mid flower with not enough Nitrogen which cannot just be rectified at that point in time. So much more (early) stretch on this plant compared to the Indica (CBD Critical Cure) growing next to it.
