Started a purple gorilla. End of week 2 getting taller. 3 rd set of real leaves now visible. Out of seedling into veg.
Going to start upping nutes slowly to .5 ML per liter. ( start topping up with .5 solution in my 5 gallon res ).
Also in coming week. Spread the feeder out farther and at second pump more feed spots. So I get full saturation and flush all of coco daily ( to 10 to 20 % run off ) to keep ph and flush salts.
Been gone most of week. But thing progressed well. Still adding strong nute solution to reservoir. Veg growth seems to getting vigorous. Start training soon ?
Upping nutes again this week. About 1/4 strength. Considering fim but not sure as indica dominate strain. Probably 2 weeks till I switch to 12 and 12.
Some weird leaf formation. Only on leaves that were covered.
Found pre flowers it's a girl. Not getting run off anymore at my current auto water settings so upping that ( also gives more nutes ). Major growth spurt while gone.
Dropping to 16 and 8 this week. Start next week at 14 and 10. End of next week 12 and 12.
Now on 12 and 12. Been away so not able to update as much as I'd like. Last 3 days the stretch really kicked in. Gonna switch to bloom nutes this week.
Week 2 of 12 and 12. Lots of stretch recently. This week I started straight bloom. Added some booster last week. Just to up the pk. For indica dominate plant I wasn't expecting so much growth / height. Plant is already a meter high. Add container height and lights plus light height above plant my 2m 10 cm tent height is quickly running out. Gonna remove yo yo and attach lights to hand bars directly I think.
But i cant handle more than another foot of vertical growth. I do have another set of extensions for tent but would be tough to do mid grow and couldn't fit them.before as ceiling is same height as tent would be. Might cut extensions down couple inches to make work but dont think it is good ideas to install during flower.
Tops getting too tall. I'm getting wider tent for next grow. Tied down highest spots for last week. Added screen today and started to train everything. I've now got 23 inches to lights. Holding plant height for now. Any other suggestions appreciated.
Spread the tops out before stems hardened. Now they are set so not more training. Distance to lights is 14 inches to highest tops. No light was getting to bottom side. So I've cut some branches down there. Some loose leaves down there too so pulled those. Cut a few fan leaves on top to get to some branches that were just below canopy. My new tent should be here in a week or two. So next grow will be in 5 x 5. More room to plant to grow into and to train it better.
Vertical growth finally seems to be slowing and bud sites and nodes are starting to thicken. Only have 14 inches to lights from highest tops. Upped the big bud coco booster and starting to drop the base nutes ( to achieve less nitrogen). Probably only another week then then switch to over drive 3 weeks.
Bottom half of plant is getting no light and scraggly light color growth. I'm getting a 5 x 5 tent so I can up my yield per plant and reduce height issues. Next plant will have room to grow more. I'm super happy with coco coir medium results now that I'm getting dialed in with how feed with it.
Moved into big tent which I knew was risk but was way to big and healthy for a 2 x 4. During move developed algae issues in reservoir and ph issue. Possibly had salt issues starting before but was too cramped to see what was going on.
Now lots of lower leaves including still green leaves falling off. Slight flushwith nutes twice now.
Plant really spread out my net is still there but not functioning so that may be issue going forward. Also less support so plant will have to make itself stable. Lots to watch as plant recovers from more and gets acquainted with it's new home.
Lots of buds sites now and sugar on leaves. Cylax are swelling on stems now so buds should start swelling soon I assume if and when it recovers from move.
Leaves at bottom of plant starting to dry out and or get brown edges and twist. It is a coco grow so different than soil. I just moved tents but had issue starting beforehand. Is this a deficiency or something else. Please see recent pictures and see old and new set up. Thanks
it is not a deficiency.with a plant that big indoors and the light is only from above,lower leaves getting dead as time passes.They can't get enough energy to keep living.Plant looking really healthy,no sign of excess or insufficient nutrients.But,if you decide to flush, keep giving pure water till runoff is more clear colored and has less EC,follow if you have a tds meter.Small,insufficient amount of water will make it use nutrients stored in its leaves.and they will die soon.Yours is not even a big problem,this happens indoors.Nutrient rates are cool,plant can't have a deficiency with these rates I think.and its not looking hungry or overfed.Everything is cool.Keep feeding and if you decide to flush,please flush with adequate amounts of water till runoff gets more clear,then add your regular feeding solution after this.You know its coco,you should be feeding each watering.ph problem would appear on upper parts first.not a ph problem.simply they arent getting light and they are coming close to final.you can remove them leaves and try to keep the other parts green.
So move done plants spreading in it's new home. Removed dead and dying leaves. Found I was getting far less runoff and salts showing on surface. So that was probably my problem. I flushed with 5 gallon of highly diluted water / nutes ( about 10 % strength). Then gave a feed of regular strength. Which is how I usually do flushes with coco.
I got a bit of nute burn from this. Not bad. But I think I'll have to dial back strength as I also upped my normal feed sched to get back to 10 % to 20 % run off. I am getting some heat issues on top buds in some areas. So thinking I'm getting some hot spots. When this grow done I want to get my lights spaced better with my full spectrum sp 250 in middle and my 2 blurpies on sides and better fan placement.
Getting thing dialed in in new tent in mid flower is not where I wanted to be but the 2 x4 tent was not working with this monster. Lol.
Update. Buds swelling up. Some weight issues but expected this as plant was more supported and cramped in 2 x4. Still having leaf issues. Focused on 1 branch. And side branching off branch. Might clean that up now plant should be out of move shock. But so close to end I dont want to shock again.
Adding weight over week. Hairs going orange. Lots of crystal now. Heads are swelling. I am gonna start transition this week to od for big bud. Disappointed I didn't get any real purple. Got dark green leaves some purple in buds. Not sure if I bunk seed for this one or if all seeds I got aren't real purple glue.
I might be jumping the gun of moving to late flower as buds are not getting alot of weight. But I moved plant right when they shoukd have been starting to add weight so I knew that I could be fucking the grow up but i needed more space and height or it was going alot more issues. Right now I'm going with 3 to 4 weeks till harvest. Already seeing some amber in the trichromes. Time will tell. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks
Update :
finding some areas showing about 5 % amber trichromes so selectively taking down some tops. Purple color coming through on buds and some leaves. I'll be gone for a week so I'll make nutes for while I'm gone at half strength then probably do full harvest in about a week or two. This plant got stressed hard in middle of flower and I may have weakened its potential. Buds I harvested so fair are pretty tight and hard. Smell great and are shot through with purple. I was hoping for more purple color but I still happy to.see some nice dark purple in leaves and buds.
Finally catching up on putting on done weight. Dropping the amount of base nutes upping the boosters. Switch to late bloom boosters this week.
Planning on harvest in 3 weeks or so as I'm going out of town
My plant seems to be developing at different rates on different parts of plant. Half the tops seem ready for harvest. Amber trichromes starting to show up. Other areas still white undeveloped buds. Should I till things even out or harvest now. Or harvest in chunks.
Well from the pics I'd say you can start flushing and getting ready for harvest at least. Those pistils will curl in and the calaxes will swell as she finishes up. Leaves still look pretty dark so give her a good flush, and she might lighten or purple up. Then you can totally harvest as she's ready. I bet those lowers just need some light, you got a big plant there with amazing, lightblocking, fan leaves.
Found some amber in some buds. Top buds ate small but lower buds are bigger and still swelling. Plant reaction to stress of move is what I think.
Leaves are getting deep purple to them. So are buds. So she is at the end. I am cutting nutes to half of what I was giving her.
I'll keep late bloom boosters going while I'm gone for week then flush for a day or two and harvest top half give bottom another week.
Well came home from work some issues while gone.
But its clearly at end. I dropped base nutes and upped late bloom. Some leaves showing cal deficiency. I'm leaving again for a couple days friday. I'm gonna push through the rest of my nute solution before I leave then start my flush.
As coco 2 days flush should be good using final flush.
Buds at top are small but get bigger down to middle of plant. All hairs are orange now. Purple really coming through. Chopped some fan leaves to get more light to bottom before chop. Monday or Tues will he harvest day. Stay tuned.
I had in a 2 x4 tent. It quickly out grew that tent. Was about 1.5 feet when I switched to 12 and 12. The growth explosion filled out tent and caused it to stretch high while it self competed for light.
When I moved to new tent it was stressed and stiffened up still all compacted. Definitely has far more potential than I showed on this grow.
Nice purple colors at end. It seems the blurply lights bring it out even more ( areas exposed to this light had deeper purple and went purple quicker ) l only harvested tops so far. Dropped lights and added nutes again. Finish harvest next week. Expecting some more quality buds and a bunch of shake buds for hash and butter.
