Grow Questions

Since autos have a finite timeline is it better to just let it grow as much as possible and get as big as possible or have the most bud sites when its starts to flower? I'm doing my first grow and started a Critical Thunder auto amongst my others. Not knowing anything about autos

that's actually a great question, and you know what i does depend on genetics, i have had XXL strains that take to LST and beast out but take 12 weeks+ and i've had some that dont take to LST , and some that benefit from larger pots (10 gal +) and some that dont. For your specific gens your critical thunder will be a large yielder that takes well to LST, BB3 is a great plant to LST, but the wedding cake and durban poison i've only let them grow , so i dont want to commit but you're probably pretty well off if you want to LST them... just one thing about autos : i havent really had much success LSTing after like the third week of veg. Hope this helps !

Another auto question. Once you commit to a light schedule will an auto be "shocked" should you go from maybe 24/0 to 20/4 or 18/6? Or vice versa.

Maybe the plants will be little shocked, but that's no problem. I did this already a few times and never had any troubles for doing this. Now I always use 20/4, I think that's the best light schedule for a auto. Good luck with the rest of the grow

Automatics are not more that sensitive as they have been. but some points its better to have attention on.... . if you top or not or multiple, depends in the strain the more vigor it grows the more you can train. Training delays the floweringtime alittle . But Lst and topping providing biiiiig Buds. ... Ok forgot one !! defoilating.. dont took away to much leaves, plant tries to reproduce, and automatics dont have the time for that. So just take away a few disturbing leaves- as you are doing the first time a grow, take it slow and start with one thin,,, maybe one time topping or an LST around week 3. let the plants connect to you and get used how everything works.

@Mrs_Larimar, Thanks for the info but I'm long past that. My original question was really in hindsight. I've already started flowering. This is day 47
