i thought it was to keep the soil from drying out when you use fans to blow through your canopy, but this sounds a lot less far fetched hahah ;) cool stuff.

@levensfiets, Thanks buddy, the green lids are Floraflex Matrix to distribute water more evenly on the sustrate when watering.
