2019-12-08 (day 9) -not much too add, seedling is growing. Atmosphere in tent is stable, slightly colder than I'd like but nothing I'm worried about. My second Meizhi 600 showed up and I will add it most likely in week 3 or 4. I may pop 2 more seeds to grow simultaneously with these two girls, just a bit worried about the coverage of these lights, we'll see I haven't made up my mind yet. I'll likely implement nutes by the end of next week.

2019-12-16 (day 17) Good week. Introduced nutes last night, was watering with ph'd tap water (mine has been fine for all my other grows) up until then. Can't wait for them to get big enough to begin main-lining. Cool temps will remain until flower and lights are cranked up, it is what it is.

2019-12-23 (day 24) Christmas Update: Slower growth then I like, 70F daytime to 58F lights off, temp swing is definitely the culprit. I'm going to buy another timer and put a heater in there for lights off time, growth should explode. I'm not too worried in the meantime as they're going to have a long veg time do to the main-lining. Nute ratios are good, no burn or deficiencies, YET. Can't wait to see the flowers on this girl!

2019-12-29 (day 30) Update: Slower growth should start to subside, I broke in and got a heater. Still trying to get the temps balanced as the heater is supposed to have a built in thermostat, but temps aren't holding when the lights on cycle ends. Should begin the mainline procedure later this week.

2020-01-05 (Day 37) - I topped this girl a tad too early to begin main-lining. I didn't want to mimic the mistake I made with my 3 Blue Kings so I'm waiting for my two growth tips to grow out a bit more before I begin tying down my mains. Feed-water-feed schedule with these girls. Stay tuned.

2020-01-12 (Day 44) - Mainline is going well, as mentioned in my Blue Fire diary I've found the stalks on these girls a little to girthy to manifold and bend with ease and as a result don't think I'll have the traditional "Mainline" appearance. I don't think I've mentioned it yet but I'm using NugBuckets tutorial as a reference, it can be found here: https://www.growweedeasy.com/mainlining-nugbuckets I've just finally tied down my 4 main colas, time to spread this girl out!

As this is my first attempt at topping and mainlining I have no experiences to base my practices off of. From what I've read I should wait 2 weeks from my last topping to switch to flowering. I'm wondering if this is consistent with others experiences on GD. Thanks in advance!

Full disclosure, I have not mainlined yet, but I do a lot of topping and LST. @ weeks is a good amount of time for recover, but as these will be your main, mains I would suggest leaving them longer, maybe 3-4 weeks after topping instead of 2 weeks. This will give ample time for her to recover, firm up and grow out nicely. If or when you have the room I always suggest using it the best you can. An extra 2 weeks of Veg and LST can make a huuuge difference and could even, potentially, double your yield (no joke). They're very healthy and moving great. Your mainlining and LST are on PAR. Continue like this for another 3-4 weeks before flip and I'm positive you'll be very happy with the results come end game. Cheers my friend and good luck.😉👍 Disclaimer: At the end of the day, it is your project and it is your call! This is only a suggestion. If you feel it's time, 2 week after topping should be adequate recovery time before the flip. Never usually hurts to let Veg for a bit longer though👍

2020-01-19 (Day 51)- Shes doing great. I would flip to veg today however I'm going on vacation leaving in 3 days for 7 days and I am hesitant to flip to flower while unable to monitor (I've heard these Humbolt girls stretch!). So she'll undergo 10-11 more days of veg and then I'll flip her as soon as I'm home. I have someone who'll come and water while I'm gone so hopefully things don't go off the rails. Of all the other plants in the tent right now this one by far has the girthiest stalks leading me to believe it will make a great candidate for my outdoor grow this year. The two Meizhi 600W blurples in the tent are now switched to full strength (both flower and bloom switches) as my Purple Lemonade has begun to flower. Still alternating feed-water-feed schedule using Apple Cider Vinegar to lower my PH. Temps aren't 100% consistent as my heater seems to have a mind of its own and for 2 days it'll keep night temps at 70F and days at 78F and the next day it'll either raise them to dangerous temps or lower them to dangerous temps. While I'm gone I'm going to set it on its lowest setting as I think the threat of cold isn't as dangerous as the threat of heat unmonitored. Minimum temp possible without the heater will be 58F. Next weeks update won't be for about 11 days, stay tuned!

2020-01-29 (Day 61)- Well back from vacation and I opened the tent to find a jungle! The last 7 days they were fed plain tap water by a friend, I didn't have time to teach him how to pH my water and as my tap water is slightly on the high side I was pleasantly surprised to see no ill effects with this particular plant. I gave them a quick defoliation last night and tied them down more, tonight I fed transition nutes and switched the light schedule to 12-12. I also experimented with my phone camera to try and get better pics as per many amazing diaries on this site. My heater sucks and is slightly erratic so from here on out the only heat will be coming from my lights and the ambient temp in the basement when lights are off, not ideal but it should do. Time to see some flowers.

2020-02-03 (Day 66)- Preflowers showing and I'm thankful this girl or the others didn't stretch too much. Tonight I fed bloom nutes and added two cheap "1000W" LED lights I bought when I first started growing. Again practicing my photography so my pics can be a bit blurry, please bear with me. Fingers crossed no deficiencies noted yet with this strain, stay tuned!

Will 68F lights on, 58F lights off during flowering significantly reduce bud density and yield? I’d prefer to not run a space heater if unnecessary.

Temps in the 50s can slow plant growth a little. Make sure you keep your humidity in check running lower temps. Your temp range with 30 35% rh is near perfect for flowering. 58F is like a cool fall evening.

2020-02-10 (Day 73)- Shes flowering and stretching (not too much thank god)! She is a beast and has 6 mains roughly the same size and stature with 2 lagging. Not too sure why 2 mains are so far behind the others, I don't believe they were damaged during training and I rotate the plant to ensure an even distribution of light, weird. Knocking on wood this girl and the 3BK by Humbolt Seeds have been vigorous girls and reacted relatively well to my training. This is my first attempt at mainlining and so far I love it, really a great way of managing height. Water-Feed-Water schedule and she is drinking alot more, roughly 1 gal every other day. Stay tuned.

2020-02-18 (Day 81) - I spoke too soon. This girl is stretching WAYYYY more than any other girl in the tent, I have to raise 1 light daily it seems. All in all even with the asymmetry this is the most beautiful plant I've grown. As stated in my other journals my heater crapped out and I am not buying another one so she'll have to deal with the cold night time temps. Hopefully the stretching slows down and she can start putting all her energy towards bud development. This is the thirstiest of all the other plants in the tent drinking roughly 1 gal every other day. Stay tuned to see this girl develop!

2020-02-26 (Day 89) - Just a monster, thank god the stretch has slowed down. I'm not quite thrilled with the asymmetry of this mainline, I do find her beautiful, but the purpose of the mainline is to promote symmetry attaining 8 equal donkey dicks. It's weird because the "botched" mainline that my Three Blue Kings experienced resulted in 6 even colas way more even than this. You can tell this strain has a longer flowering period than the Three Blue Kings as its taking a little longer to pack on the weight. I like the fact that she naturally isn't too bushy allowing the lower buds to receive a sufficient amount of light. Nutes are remaining the same for a while. Stay tuned to watch her pack on some weight.

2020-03-04 (Day 96) - *Insert Angry Words Her* She hermed. I've actually never had one before so I overlooked the pollen sacs last week, you can see them in the previous weeks pictures of the lollipopped part of the plant. I pulled off all the pollen sacks I saw, initially they formed only on the lollipopped portions but it has since started happening on some of the lower bud sites too. I've isolated her and I'm going to try and see if she can make it, I honestly have no clue. I'll continue to pull pollen sacs as they form. I just hope I'm not left with seedy buds. It's a shame because this girl smells delicious! And there is also some blue forming too in some of the upper buds. I just hope I can finish her.

She began to herm where lollipopped. Pollen sacs gradually began forming on the second lowest bud sites. I continue pulling them off. Will it be likely I can finish this plant and not have seedy bud?

@ButtersStotch Yes mate simply because your buds probably only have 4 or 5 weeks left to go and Seeds take atleast 5-6 weeks to develop So going along those numbers you should be able harvest them without the seeds . although there may be the odd undeveloped and unviable one here and there it won't make your buds any worse for it. Keep removing pollen sacs if you like but if they have already opened there probably isn't much point. Hope this answers your question mate 👍

2020-03-10 (Day 102) - I’m not knocking on wood I’m bashing it. No more pollen sacs have appeared since last week! When pulling off one of the pollen sacs it jizzed all over 1 of the tiny lower buds. I marked this bud with tape and sure enough you can visibly see at least 3 seeds forming in the bud. I have lots of hope left that I can finish this girl, I’ve moved her into the tent with the rest of the girls as I needed my other room to dry my latest harvest. This strain is super aromatic and I just hope the buds fatten up, I’m sure they will as this girl has a really long flowering time. Stay tuned and see how she turns out!

2020-03-24 (Day 116) - Stinky and sticky, cloudier trichs by the day. She’s alone in the tent now as she had a longer flowering time than the rest of the girls. Her 3 or 4 taller tops have the oddest bud structure, I’m thinking it could be from some light burn near the start of flower. Flushing her till the end now and she’s going to have some colder nights around 60F as I’ve pulled the heater. It gets colder than that in the fall here and my plants still finished nice so I hope I don’t make her endure too much stress. I am keeping vigilant looking for late flower pollen sacs or nanners, nothing since that scare a couple weeks back. Stay tuned and see how she finishes!!

Good grow I want to call great except for the fact she produced a ton of seeds. Thick colas and dense nugs, a pure pleasure to trim. Loved the mainline and definitely will do this again in the future! Best smelling weed I’ve grown to date. Extremely unique smell just a mix of earthy, gassy herbs. Extremely pungent aroma that just fills the air. This thing would make an amazing air fresher net, I want everything to smell like this. Happy I have 100+ seeds, idc if they produce some seed this bud is phenomenal Grow:6.9/10 great mainline structure, great bud structure, seeds Bud:9.0/10 (Current as of 2020-09-02 high score)
