Blueberry Headband Grow Week 04 Flower Feb 29 In a state of transition. Started using 'Hygrozyme'. An enzyme that will supposedly keep my roots clean and root rot at bay. Wasn't quite the case. PH went up 10 fold and brown slime reappeared. Rinsed the roots, added more Hygrozyme and a dose of Tarantula tea. 24 hours later, PH is up the same. No sign of rot. RePHed and all is ok. Plants aren't blinking. Aroma is strong. Trichromes appeared last week and are everywhere, now! Little bundles of calyxes are all excited to pop out this coming week! Think this will be a 'beginners luck' grow. Trying to be diligent. Grow Questions

Is it common to have a pheno every once and a while that totally defies the strain defining characteristics? A 'Throw Back', I guess?

DWCHCanswered grow question 5 years ago
Totally, a stabilized feminized strain will still show discrepancies between phenos. Be it terps, growth rates, finish times, and even some really cool oddballs, such a a tri-cotyledon germination that had triple axial internodes.. and sometimes, as with the Barney's vanilla kush, of 3 beans popped, one was totally sativa dominate and the other was a typical kush growth habit.. it can really be like a box of chocolates sometimes, never know what little gems you'll end up with. The is why I order 5 seeds or more when I get a new strain... Happy growing

digging the setup. If you noticed on my fast buds tester i stole how you taped down the green plant tie to the bucket to do the LST πŸ‘Š... My first tie was like 3 ft long and tied to a tent pole lol.

@@motaman311, I had someone in my Canadian Weed Forum rib me about the duct tape. 20 years ago, before grow tents, I made entire rooms out of B/W poly, Duct tape and 1x2's. Trailer Park Grow Tent! LOL.

What's good bro... I just started a blueberry headband grow and we even use a lot of the same nutes. Got any tips. She like extra of any certain thing or less of anything that you've picked up on over the last month? Anything would be much appreciated. I've done this strain outdoors once with much success, but i kno indoors is a dif ballgame. Ill be following along as you finish this run. Pop in on me from time to time...thanks

@WolverineGreens, My first time growing her. She is very easy to grow. Seems to like nutes. Not shy with LST and topping although give her a decent rest after. Like, a couple days. Hope you have a great grow!

Hopefully tarantula works for you. If not I would recommend hydroguard, voodoo juice, or something like great white shark.. they are bacteria that target the bad stuff on the roots. From google: The "Great White" product line has 16 different species of mycorrhizal fungi, 14 different species of beneficial bacteria and 2 species of trichoderma, all in one product.. "Hydroguard" just has Bacillus bacteria which they claim that to be the dominant Bacteria that protects roots and eats fungi. I have used hydroguard with success.. but doesn't mean i am immune to all root problems, but it's worked so far... good luck!

@@motaman311, Besides the FF OGKZ, I have Coc Mint coming as well. Yours looks delicious! The Blueberry Headband is my favorite so far. Mango Sapphire , Chemdawg and Black Dawg are on my list as well. Won't be finished experiencing Humboldt Seeds till at least this Christmas! LOL! Then I'm going to try Landrace Thai from World of Seeds, Durban Poison from MSNL and I'm being sent some Kali Mist seeds from Serious that is an old fave of mine from the 90's. Have a great rest of the weekend, Mate! πŸ‘Š

I want to see that OGKZ for sure.. i have the normal and want to see if I should bump it up in my grow priority list haha.. need more room I guess.

@@motaman311, Black Dog is on my list. I have OGKZ Fast Flower coming as well as Chocolate Mint, which I've also wanted to grow. The Blueberry Headband is exquisite! Really like the aroma, flavour and high.

Plants look beautiful. Great node stacking... look nice and healthy.. weird that hygrozyme caused so many issues.. I've never used it before.

@@motaman311, Thanks a lot, Mate! Yeah, I know. I think (hope) that it's a matter of catch up. Will keep trying it for the next few res changes and see if things settle down. I think it will. Adding the Tarantula tea really seems to add to the positive effects. Will know by next weeks report.

Thank you for getting your ASD grow up and running on the grow diary platform πŸ€— I'm going to take a good look into this issue my friend πŸ‘ I'll keep you informed via pm ✌️ Good luck with the grow mate. We are watching with interest from Humboldt County 🀘 Kind regards Team-HSO..

@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, I would like to clarify that I'm alright if there's nothing that can be done. If I am the only one who has had this issue then although not sure how it happened, am willing to overlook. I have only two concerns. 1) That there are probably others if it happened to me and that means that there is an issue affecting your company and clients and I want to make sure you are aware of the issue. (again, if it's just me, I'm happy with 'whatever it is' that I'm growing.) 2) That there is at least one ASD seed in the three pkg HSO sent me as replacement. The email response that I got was 'genetic anomaly', which was a question that I had asked within 3 weeks of germination. Perhaps it is but the absolute difference in appearance in growth and the absolute Kush taste and aroma (Delicious!) makes it difficult to believe. I am happy to ride it out and see what the other seeds in the pkg are and, if by chance they are all Black Dog, well, I'll be purchasing ASD again in the future because it is just so 'gourmet' IMHO. In other news, The BHB is reacting very well to LST (The BD is just amazingly resilient and vigorous!). If I can keep these going another five weeks, I'll take a couple clones from each and try to get a few more crops out of them. I already know that the BHB is going to be amazing.

@DjDaveAtHome, Normally when packaging we do it "strain" specific. Which means we only pack one strain at a time so for Black D.O.G seeds to land in a ASD pack would be pretty hard. I will have a chat with customer services to see if we have had any other issue occurs similar πŸ‘ We will keep dropping in to see how your fairing πŸ€— With love from Humboldt County πŸ’š Kind regards ✌️ Team-HSO..
DjDaveAtHome
DjDaveAtHomecommented5 years ago
@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, Thank you for your attention. I do believe it was a 'batch' problem. Either a few Black Dog seeds got dropped or fumbled into the ASD (Keep in mind, Black Dog is my best guess. Not sure what it is, really.) I'll even send a sample of the finished flower if there's a way to do that. Also, have the photos and videos. Do HSO packages have 'lot #s'? That would make it easier to track, but original wood pkg is since gone. Will keep track of that # from now on if there is. Dinafem order # from March 21. 2019 from the first order. Second pkg (replacement) was sent without an order # as far as I know.
