So elephant in the room the Chem City Blues seeds just weren't working out for me, still have one seed left to try after but I'm not holding out too much hope.
Now on to this girl, tap root was visible within a day, potted her the next.
Let's see how long it takes for her to sprout!
Now I hope this grow goes smoother with the seeds not being so old.
Otherwise it was my own doing which would mean a nutrient overhaul... (I did that anyway lol) and for me to restart to see what the issue actually was.
So far so good, granted knowing my luck at the moment it would just disintegrate at harvest... God imagine that, go to cut off the bud and *poof* dust...
Well she seems to be OK and ready to show me how autos aren't as bad as I assumed.
I plan to increase the root juice by 0.3ml just until Thursday before I stop giving it to her all together, then I will add the bloom mix to her feed slowly.
I think I will give this plant 12 weeks total.
Now I am not doing my normal topping or defoliation work for this grow as I don't know much about autos other than they grow independant to the light schedule, but I did pinch the base of the sprout gently just to make a nice knuckle.
Final week of vegetaive growth I believe, within the next few days BioBloom and TopMax will be slowly introduced into the feed.
Low Stress Training will be applied as soon as she is big enough.
Also ran out of BioHeaven so I've been using RootJuice as an instead so I lied last week about that week being the last week she tastes RootJuice. Rip.
I believe the first week of stretching will begin this week. Let's see how it goes.
I also came to the idea of a staggerred harvest as I would like to replicate the effects of the first girl scout cookies I had many years ago, I know they are probably not the same plant in any way but who knows!
I will be using a single branch as the test subject as I have no storage area to dry a lot without smell being an issue. This branch will be cut at the nearest node after each stage (lightly milky - amber)
Rhizotonic is back and I'm using it like how I used BioHeaven (of which I ran out of, and as stress relief) larger dosages if I'm rougher with my LST but a normal 1ml dose as standardised feed should keep her happy 😊 I used a heavy handed LST/HST hybrid though pinches and the tying down, because of this I tripled down on the first Rhizotonic amount just to see it in action (before and after down lie, thats a near stress free plant.)
Stretch is most definitely underway this week, starting slowly last week but I imagine that's the auto's 'intermission' week.
Hopefully with the replacement ph meter turning up I can make the growth a little more impressive, I would imagine there was a slight nutrient lockout over the past 3-4 days.
Performed light pruning with extra rhizotonic dose to prevent stress build up but should make the growth explode.
The sickly branch just wasn't recovering so I had to prune that just incase.
This will be a good week of growth. The flowers have formed quite well and this plant will seemingly grow similar to my amnesia haze grow in terms of looks, but in terms of pace, node length and them huge fat indica-like leaves just like her cousin OG Kush.
I know I've said this about all my grows but isn't she beautiful 😍
Over the next few days I will loosen the ties just to keep the plant more compact but hopefully it will have a more even canopy so she can look more like the OG grow.
Around mid week I plan on clearing a larger portion of the lower leaves.
The buds are coming in so fast I feel as if I've just missed a week when compared to photosensitive strains, I hope she continues on the way she is currently 😍
She had a dry day on the 13th and a partial watering on the following day, the coco has been overly moist lately so I'm hoping a dry day will prevent issues in the roots.
Last day of boosted feeding. The levels will be lowered except for Bio•Bloom and Top•Max, until the week after.
I am planning to take a few more leaves to open the canopy on Wednesday and as always I will increase her dose of Rhizotonic to combat potential stress on the day of pruning only.
Pruned the next day because I'm awkward.
I will only prune once a week while being mindful to not completely de-leaf her.
I started this grow worried that Bio•Bloom and Top•Max wouldn't be enough of a fertiliser, specially with it being organic and the rest of her feed being chemical, but so far she's a week ahead of the photoperiod strains in terms of development.
Tied down a taller than the rest branch then released it the next day so I could lower the light a little and not have it burn or anything. (It basically did nothing)
Adding Cannazym for this week give her some extra energy from potential root decomp.
Shes definitely looking good regardless.
Last week of the chemical feed before I begin the flushing sequence, I will start by removing A+B from her feed slowly over the week but continue to feed her normal amounts of Bio•Bloom and Top•Max until the end of next week where she will have just water. This is assuming it all goes to plan.
Guess which idiot forgot there was a bloom switch on his light because the plant just grew on regardless...
She has at most two more weeks so I can get some use from it ;-;
So yes for the past 5/6 weeks shes been blooming on what XECCON think is a blue spectrum of light. Its quite an interesting discovery regardless of my blunder, not that it seems to have effected her overly much...😅🤔🤷♂️
My flush/harvest plan for this girl is like the last two previous grows.
Her leaves are slowly being drained of all stored recourses which means her time is soon.
I would like to replicate the first Girl Scout Cookies I tried many moons ago so I'm waiting for a little amber in the trichiomes. So end of next week or sooner, depends on how she reacts.
Decided to prune the large, yellow leaves to maximise light coverage as shes not quite amber in the trichiomes yet.
My best guesstimate is she will undergo her 3 days of darkness by next week Wednesday.
I took a popcorn or two last week for testing purposes, equated to a gram.
Same this week.
Quite the introduction to the true potential of the autoflowering varieties this grow had relatively few problems up until I decided to casually forget i needed to switch the bloom light on...it was the whole automated process that threw it off lol...
This strain was another beautiful example of RQS's quality and breeding prowess.
She grew fast, strong and resilient.
Not a single sign of stress or illness.
Quality growth and the test nugs taken hint to a great high!
The only thing causing the lack of yield was my well documented mistake. Definitely going to grow this strain again!
Smoke Report.
Seed Bank: Royal Queen Seeds
Did it autoflower?: Yes around the 27th day.
From seed to harvest date: 82 days.
Dry Yield: 122g
High/Effect Duration:
9/10
A strong stoning high that brings you close to the nirvana your local hippy stoner always talks about.
BAG APPEAL:
7/10
The denser nugs look fantastic in a baggy but the whispy nature of most of her flowers (my fault) don't look great...thankfully they didn't stay in it long 😏
THE GROWTH:
9/10
Watching this one grow was such a treat, it grew fast, strong and like all my other grows in my totally biased but humble opinion, one of the most beautiful plants I'd seen.
THE SMELL:
9/10
Her aroma is a varied one with a lot of little subtle smells. She starts with a strong sweet citrus that becomes a sweet vanilla like smell, when broken you get a strong woody smell that breaks down into the sweet orange.
Upon a week of curing the smell has evolved into a terries chocolate orange. Yum.
THE SMOKE/VAPE:
8/10
Vaped: My normal vaping temp is 195°C but I have spent a few days with a wide range of temperatures. At the lower temperatures 175°C the high is much more cerebral but headache inducing for me.
The middle of the range 195°C is the best of both words without the headaches, with a nice body buzz that tapers off into a numbing stoned effect.
The highest temperature 210°C causes one of the best sleep inducing stone I've experienced since the OG Kush I grew. Except for the amount of tar it produces probably a result of my growing.
Smoke: (I am anal and smoke rarely will update once I treat myself)
OVERALL RATE SCALE:
8/10
This grow was yet another breeze but it wasn't without a mishap and a blunder.
I cannot yet get over how resilient my grows have been even though there were moments that could have lead to it being much worse.
She grew so well during her early flowering weeks I didn't even realise I forgot to switch the bloom light for what amounted to 80% of her overall time in bloom, had I another seed I know the result would be outstanding and yet my blunder resulted in a beautiful dense plant regardless.
Thank you who shared their kind words!
I will get the rest filled in when it comes available.
hey friend amazing diarie and beautiful plant😍, you did a great job with that training💪💪💪.... I'm curious about the dry weight and smoke report.👍
keep it up and good luck !!!🤞
