Nirvana’s BlackJack! Not my first, but I feel I’m getting better at pulling this strain off. Or rather, this strain is resistant and tough, and will do well just about in any environment. I really find BlackJack can resist most errors and yields more than many other strains.
Middle of the road for veg.: above average cloning and growing, but not the easiest to clone or the most vigorous I have.
Growing I made the decision to bunker this plant up with another in the same very large container. Both plants survived and flourished, and the roots were healthy and filled out the whole pot. The buds were swollen and solid through flowering.
Aromas were faint and sweet when growing, maybe a hint of licorice. After harvest I found the smelled stayed with a faint sweetness with some just herb or plant surrounding it. Its just mellow, more of the background base weed. Not overpowering taste or smell.
Potency is really good, it is quite strong. The ratio of sativa/indica is misleading as that doesn’t indicate strength. I find it does hit both body and mind. I would agree it is sativa, but I feel relaxed too! I really find its waves of relaxation. To note, I did flower this plant about a half of a week to a week longer. But overall, BlackJack is consistently strong.
This is one of my backbone strains at the moment given the medicinal qualities and strength. I try to have a few strains on hand for tastes anyway, so it doesn’t have to shine in that area. To be clear, it tastes good, just not the highlight nor is it going to come through strong - the effects will come through strong.
No issues with harvest at all. Gave a bit of extra darkness before chopping. Because of how faded it had become trimming was very easy. I wet trimmed, budwashed before hanging to dry. First dipped and swirled buds in a container of baking soda, lemon juice, and water, and then dipped and swirled in just water.
Bud quality, one of my best grows. Visually, the buds turned out really nice after curing.
