I had to be patient, but patient no longer. This plant has gained enough size that is has to be taken care of and deserving of a diary. The third of a recent trio of BlackJack clones, the genetics from Nirvana. Day 57. Of note: its mother has been given too much nitrogen in flower and will be a huge disappointment. Very sad. This clone sat near my cold basement floor for weeks which hampered everything. It has only recently become green and started to grow, since I solved things. I have transplanted twice. The most recent for this diary, and I used 15 HP Pro Mix soil: 5 Fox Farms Happy Frog soil: 5 worm castings, and Myke Herbs and Vegetables mycorrhizae. The lights include a 300 watt actual draw LED, and 1/6th of that again in a small pod.

The third of the BlackJack trio of clones, this is day 64. I am loving the progress of recovery, from yellowed clone with no heat before the diary, to in excess of nitrogen growing clone. Its doing great and I am really happy. Water and time ahead. I did some LST after this week’s photos which you can sort of see in the group shot.

Day 71 since cloning BlackJack the third. Like many of the others, I’ve used LST and performed a bend. I’ve heavily defoliated. I have topped. Not much left after hacking away ... but just let it fill out. Give it time. Water and just amendment in the soil. So far, I have waited on a transplant.

Day 78 since cloning the third of the BlackJack trio. The soil has been a little hot and everything has darkened as it has absorbed nutrients. You can see alot of excess veg., thin leaves, streaked stems, riding excess and lockout. Time and water will solve itZ unfortunately, it will delay the ultimate goal of a nice even canopy. Just vegging away for now. The gameplan still looks good.

Day 85 since cloning the third of the BlackJack trio. All good so far, growing well. Just water and time as there is plenty of soil amendment. I transplanted this week so there is plenty of space too. My soil amendment mix was primarily: 30 HP Pro Mix: 5 Fox Farms Happy Frog: 5 worm castings: 2 ASB Greenworld Sheep Manure Compost: 2 ASB Greenworld Black Earth: 2 ETI Greenhouse Gold Seafood Compost: 1 Blood and Bonemeal pellets: 1 Green Gaia mineralized phosphate (guano): 1 pulverized egg shells; and Myke Herbs and Vegetables mycorrhizae. I tried to layer it much more than any other previous grows, as in side and top filling with just HP Pro Mix, not hot soil. So, ... as the reader did you catch it yet? Yep. I have two ladies in bed together 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩. Why not? Some fruit trees are known to benefit from communal root structures. I expect these two to compete for space lol. Oh well, its an interesting experiment that actually saves me some space. I put both plants in to be able to stack young pots. Its symbiotic sister is Gorilla Bomb Clone 2019 (III).

Day 92 since this BlackJack clone was given life. Just vegging away in the big pot with no issues. Its soil roomate is causing no problems, but BlackJack does not get the better lighting. When I have more space I will look to maybe give the pot a new orientation. Just giving water and allowing the soil amendment to get used up. Trimming to try to open other plants and limit growth rate.

Day 99 since cloning the third BlackJack. Everything is really pumping now. Bigtime growth all around this week. No problems sharing a container, and the growth has been so substantial its forced me to move the little plants sharing the space. Just water and time for now. I topped and trimmed after photos. I have about three weeks until a good window opens up in my flower tent (until space opens up).

Day 104 for BlackJack clone the third. This thing has really taken off this past week. Even though temperatures have been down and inconsistent, it has filled out and rebounded continuously. It is so bushy its hard to tell where its container sister starts in the top down shot. I am rushing a bit, but I tossed her into flower tonight. Mostly to make space and improve the hot air circulation - it was really cutting off the tent. I am surprised by the purple stems and am wondering if its straight temperatures effecting nutrient absorption or if its out of amendment. Regardless I will be cautious with nutes as I enter flower.

Day 111 since cloning BlackJack. One week of flowering complete, seven weeks to go. Its projected as 8-9 weeks. I would say it needs phosphorous which it will get plenty of starting in one week. For now through stretch just using soil amendment and water. Things are crowded and cozy. Both angles on the group shot at the end. The tent is the usual hung mylar in an unfinished basement covering sox feet by four feet. The lighting is: two 300 watt full spectrum LEDs the same as my veg. tent; 96 watts of yellow LED bulbs supplementing that; and two custom made 50 watt mixed LED pods. The spectra are listed with the pods being a total approximation.

Day 118 since cloning BlackJack. Two weeks of flowering complete, six weeks to go. I am a bit worried moving forward, I had another plant completely bite the dust late in flower. It revealed that I was still overestimating how fast the plants were using soil amendment - nitrogen! So I have to assume this one is at risk too. However two plants in one container should help things. I haven’t given any plant food yet in flower. I will be liberal with water. I have also changed my flowering timer back to 12/12. It seemed the reduced time did induce flowering more quickly, but the reduced yield wasn’t worth it.

Day 125 since cloning BlackJack. Three weeks of flowering complete, five weeks to go. I’m going to push it to six weeks. A little colour change this week. I have to expect some of the bud colour is inadvertent from secondary elements, I cut out at least one product. It will get food tomorrow. It is forming buds, but nothing massive. Both container plants are doing well in general. I did do a little trimming after photos, but its a bit tough to reach this one.

Day 132 for BlackJack. Four weeks of flowering complete, four weeks to go. However, I’ll push it to five weeks. Nice sweet smell coming out of buds that have really changed colour. I have another BlackJack turned as well. I think its related to nutrients, but it may also be temp or strain related. The buds are forming nicely so I’m not worried at this point. I gave water today so it will need to dry a bit before more food. My basement humidity is high today because I have been flushing other plants, and have been getting rain.

Day 139 since Blackjack was cloned. Five weeks of flowering complete, three weeks to go. Because this plant shares a container with another mature plant, I will extend it an extra week. I recently fed this one 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom, with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). This plant has darkened just like my other Blackjacks. Temperature related maybe? The smell is sweet, black licorice like.

Day 146 for BlackJack. Six weeks of flowering complete, two to go. I will be extending one week. I like the look of the purple but I do believe it is deficiency/lockout. I’m feeding so I think I’ve been giving too much molasses, too much iron, and this is locking out other things. Still, the buds are swollen and I will get something. Nice sweet smell coming off them.

Day 153 for this BlackJack clone. Seven weeks of flowering, one projected to go, two more in terms of what I am going to give. Compared to its container buddy, I think this plant is a little healthier finishing up. Visually, very neat; I assume its not the best health wise. I fed the last food four days ago, 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom, with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Time to flush for the rest until the very end.

Day 160 since BlackJack was cloned. Eight weeks of flowering complete, this is the projected finish. Everything looks great! Because this plant shares a container with a nine weeker, I will extend a bit. However, that plant will be cut earlier and so a compromise. I continue to flush and clearly there isn’t any nutrient left, nor much smell.

No issues with harvest at all. Gave a bit of extra darkness before chopping. Because of how faded it had become trimming was very easy. I wet trimmed, budwashed before hanging to dry. First dipped and swirled buds in a container of baking soda, lemon juice, and water, and then dipped and swirled in just water. Bud quality, one of my best grows. Visually, the buds turned out really nice after curing.
