My two tester clones didn't work out. Fixing the problem while growing out the parent for more clones next week then out to the rubbish bin with her as she has fungus gnats. Nice thing about DWC, no fungus gnats.

Humboldt OGKZ Fast Flower and DinaMed CBD Plus Week 2 Veg Jan 18 The Dinamed has been transplanted into DWC from soil and is doing very well. Was going to partner it up with an HSO Amherst Sour Diesel or perhaps a Blueberry Headband. Have new genetics on the way so, I think I'll pop in an HSO OGZKZ Fast Flower! Started LSTing. We'll see what a few weeks does to them! Growth is vigorous in DWC. Noticed that the DinaMed's PH was dropping drastically over 24 hours. PPMs were way up at 1100. Diluted the solution by two thirds and re PHed her.

Not a lot to report. Growth is slow as they must be in veg for another 7 weeks till they can go into the flower room. Defoliating as I see leaves blocking tops. Closely monitoring. PPMs are around 500-700. Rinsed the root base of both plants. Started using a Canadian product, Hygrozyme, to ward off Root Rot and help my roots. After 24 hours PH went from 5.7 to 6.7. A bit of slime as well. Did a sterilization with H2O2, rinsed the roots, waited an hour, then re-inoculated with Hygrozyme and my Tarantula Tea. 24 hours later (today). PH is up the same but no sign of rot. RePHed and good to go. Strange week for the plants as I switch in Hygrozyme Enzyme to help with the roots. A lot of dead tissue being consumed by beneficial microbes and fungi. PH rise more than 10 fold every 24 hours while EC levels rise by a point or two. The old roots are dying and being consumed new while bright, crisp, white roots are appearing. New growth is vigorous and the plants seem to enjoy the transition as hard as it is. Removed damaged leaves from DinaMed CBD Plus (DC+). Refreshed res'. Using Alaskan Organic Bloom to control my PH till the massive rises stop. Close now. Put another air line and stone into both buckets. Seems to help. Adding Microbe tea (formula below) as well as Hygrozyme and Advanced Nutrients Tarantula. Adding Alaskan Bloom not only helps the PH but feeds the microbes. Brewing tea also helps chelation of the metal micro nutrients as well as converting Humic acid to Fulvic acid which is easier for the plant to uptake. Timing seems about right. The current flowering plants are finishing so these will be in flower within two weeks. From all that I've learned this grow (being my first DWC), I plan on carrying on with a combination of organics and synthetics. Along with GHE products below, I'll be using the organics right along side. Mainly for the microbes and fungi. I plan on keeping my water about 1-2" below the basket with heavier pumps. Will be using the EcoPlus Eco Air 4 Four Outlet air pump divided into 2 buckets/2 air stones and using the 2 Marina 200 Air pumps for clones. That will more than double the airflow to the roots. When I change the res and even when I transfer over to the larger flower DWC bucket (3 gal - 5 gal) I'll be keeping a litre of the veg solution to add to the fresh new res, thus 'inoculating' it with the already stable microbial and fungal environment that it's been used to. As well, I'll continue with Hygrozyme on a 'maintenance' dosage when changing the res and adding a liter of the microbial and fungal tea listed below as well as a dose of Tarantula from Advanced Nutrients. Adding organic Alaskan veg and bloom fertilizer (some 'Fulvic acid' as well, like seaweed liquid. Plants uptake Fulvic better than Humic. Root fungi eat the Humic and poop out Fulvic!) in 'moderation' to help bring PH back down and feed microbes and fungi. Once the plants start really stacking, I'll add more synthetics to compensate and to lower PH. The organics can really mess with the EC so I'm not going to be freaking about high levels. Found that it didn't effect the plants health that much if at all. Have transplanted into the flower room and from the 3 gal bucket to the 5. Aphids or spider mites on the CBD. Dusted with Diatomaceous earth after 48 hours of soapy water sprays. They're all gone. Have doubled the airflow in the res's by adding the two air pumps from the veg unit. (The DWC side is shut down. Just soil mothers now.) This has had an instant effect on the health of the roots. Am now convinced that I've needed more air from the beginning to keep the roots healthy. Here are my figures ... * What I started out with | *** Current setup EcoPlus Eco Air 4 Four Outlet: 63.25 gal/h per outlet (253 gal/h) EcoPlus Commercial Air 1 - 6 outlet: 132 gal/h per outlet (793 gal/h) ***Marina 200: 29 gal/h per outlet (58 gal/h) *Started with: 29 gal/h (One outlet/Marina 200) **Past: 58 gal/h (Dual outlets/Marina 200) ***Currently: 116 gal/h (Dual outlets/Two Marina 200s) Total 4 pumps Future: 396 gal/h | 2 of 6 outlets (EcoPlus Commercial Air One.) running two EcoPlus Hydrovescent Air Disc 6 " at 320-640 gal/h

Plants are acclimating to the flower area and new 5 gal buckets. DinaMed's leaves were damaged by the Diatomaceous earth dusting. The colouring is mottled green and growth is twisted slightly. Defoliated both plants a bit. Now, a week to let them grow.

Doubled Airflow using two Marina 200 (28 gal/h x 2 = 54 gal/h) with four air stones per bucket. Liking what I see. Roots are better than they've ever been. Adjusted air space between basket bottom and surface of reservoir as there is more moist air now because of the increased bubbles (splashes). Just turn the 18/6 lights off for 36 hours before bring back online at 12/12. Forty eight hours earlier they had a defoliation which filled in so quickly. Will compare tomorrow when the lights go back on. Blueberry Headband DinaMed CBD Plus Week 01 Flower End of first week of flower. Just gave first dose of Bloom. Roots look amazing. Will continue with Hygrozyme but will stop Tarantula inoculations. Blueberry Headband has increased height by about 300% while DinaMed is at around 150%. Has a little more than two weeks to catch up and stretch finishes. BHB will continue it's stretch for the whole 3 week period. New air pump (EcoPlus Air 1) has been ordered. Should be here in a couple weeks. Keeping the EC at around 12-1.3 for the BHB and 1.1 for the DinaMed. DinaMed isn't a fan of med-high nutes, I don't think. It seems to prefer on the light side. Also, turned the lights up from 30% to about 55%. Will up to 75% in about four weeks. The plants are doing well except for an issue with small rust coloured spots. According the 'The Plant Doctor', the best guess is a calcium deficiency. Increasing CalMag didn't work. Going to try raising the PH up to between 6.2 - 6.4 and see if that makes a difference. (Best absorption PH). Sometimes excess potassium can cause the same symptoms. If raising the PH doesn't work, I'll try knocking back the bloom levels.

BHB has stretched from 20 cm to 70 cm in 3 weeks. DinaMed is at 50 cm. DinaMed's deficiency seems much better since flipping to flower. EC of BHB 1.3, DinaMed is 1.1, New air pump is shooting 396 Gal/h per bucket compared to just 58 last grow. Root mass has doubled. No sign of rot or root problems. Check out the video for more.

The growth and appetite of these two plants has increased proportional to the airflow increase. The BHB is drinking 4 liters a day, the CBD, 2 liters. Every second day is a feeding. EC drops by approximately 2-3 points every 48 hours. PH rises from 5.5 to 5.8-5.9 every 24-48 hours. CBD's issue was Magnesium. Added Epsom salts to the res and issue is no more. Both plants are stacking very well and the CBD has now caughtup to the BHB's height. CBD is at 66 cm while the BHB holds steady at 70.

The plants (especially the Blueberry Headband) is drinking a lot! Roots are looking great and bud production is excellent! CBD is now developing trichomes and a great lemony aroma. The CBD deficiency is gone now that there is more Calcium and Magnesium. Both plants are doing excellent. This is the end of week 6. BHB will be ready by mid-late week. CBD still has a couple weeks at least, I think. Really bulking up! BHB is ripening. Branches bending. 80-90% cloudy trichomes. BHB is slowly having it's nutes reduced and fresh water added. By weeks end, it will be fresh water only. Not much else to report. Researching dry ice extraction for the CBD. Will probably use fresh plant without drying to save the terpenes. Once the extraction is done, the trichomes will immediately be put into a MCT oil where it will be decarbed.

This grow was the early, smaller but much more dense pheno. Same Wintergreen mint and blueberry aroma. Superb crystal! Would love to do a fresh plant extraction on this pheno! Smooth to smoke, creative but calming. Will need to buy more seeds!😋

Was an easy grow. Hardly any leaf removal. Almost all fan leaves have abundant trichomes! Wonderful berry/Wintergreen aroma!

Huge colas! Tight and dense! Doesn't look very frosty, then did a dry ice extraction and saw an abundance of creamy trichomes! Lemon scented with heavy skunk overtones. Smooth and strong! Very calming to smoke! Oral drops that I made are excellent!

Because I used 2/3rds of the fresh plant on dry ice extraction and because I did it solo, there are no official weights for the CBD harvest. I will weigh the 1/3rd still hanging and report on that and my estimate of what the total weight would've been. Because of the size of the colas, the number of branches and such, I'm going to guess that it was very close to 3oz or slightly over as it was larger than the BHB. Will definitely grow again. Very nice genetics! Harvested the CBD at the recommended moment when the trichomes were as close to all cloudy as possible. I believe it was around 90%. Very strong effects that are not psychoactive. Highly recommended.

Nice share. They are really small for 14 weeks of veg something is wrong. My guess is that you need better lights they should be way bigger. Have a look at my week 12 compared to your week 14 on my current diary. Cheers, and best of luck.
DjDaveAtHome
DjDaveAtHomecommented5 years ago
@@@deletethisaccount, actually, because they are spending 10-15 weeks in veg I have them small for that reason. My flower space is 20" x 40" x 4' (actual above ground plant space). As it is now, they will stretch to within 1' of my light which is the max. They are only under a single 2' T5 for veg. I may add another but first I have some other tweaks that I'm trying. I am going to change buckets. They were spending all their time in 3 gal buckets. No room for root growth or air space. They will now be in a 5 gal bucket. I want them to grow fairly slowly but their health is paramount. Thanks for your interest! Be safe!

that oil looks beautiful. nice and clean. Awesome. Why did you do a dry ice extraction then turn it into oil? Is it cleaner and more pure?? I make edibles and oils a couple times a week in magic butter machine, but I'm wondering if using hash would make my edibiles or oil better compared to only trim and some kief.
DjDaveAtHome
DjDaveAtHomecommented5 years ago
@@motaman311, I used two handfuls of dried trim and fan leaves and got 13 grams using the 160mn bag. Will use the 73mn bag first next time. The quality of the 160 is good considering that I even used old trim with new. Did get small debris like leaf in the dried 160. Tell you what, though. The fresh plant extraction (living resin they call it) is so bloody excellent that I'll rarely if ever use dried again. It was that good. Didn't need to mix much. Just shake and roll for 20 minutes with a break or two.
motaman311
motaman311commented5 years ago
@DjDaveAtHome, I think im going to try that on a fresh plant. I always use whatever trim I have on hand.. normally I mix trim of the strains so they feel more hybrid. Sometimes the indica cookies are a little too heavy lol. So I use the stuff that has been drying/curing for 2 weeks - 6 months+. I did the bubble bags once and I am not doing that again until I get an attachment for my drill to make it stir by itself. Also, I don't smoke enough hash to make it worth it but if I can use it in oils and butter then maybe.. I bought some cheap CBD online and made oil and the oil was dark brown and nasty looking.. so that stuff is only topical. The CBD was as good as you think it would be at $1 a gram.
DjDaveAtHome
DjDaveAtHomecommented5 years ago
@@@motaman311, I'm really not sure about purity or such in comparison, The biggest reason that I did it was the return. Huge amount of crystal Fresh plant material doesn't breakup into bits, either. Just freezes and goes limp because of the moisture content. Also, terpenes are still there. Also, less mess than water extraction. Do you dry first or do fresh plant? I refrigerate whatever hash/trichomes that I'm not using at the moment. No chlorophyll, either.

@@motaman311, Thanks, Mate! Very happy! Even better, my Bubble Bags just arrived. 73 and 160mn. Should give me some great trikes! Can't wait to dry ice extract the CBD. Going to do all my trim with just ice water. See what comes out! Be safe!
