This is a very special strain that was created especially for me by Nate at The Bakery Genetics. These genetics are: Neytiri (Blue Dream x Purple Haze) X Skywalker OG (Skywalker x OG Kush) This will be my first ever soil grow (eek). I will be growing indoors in a 2x4x8 Gorilla Grow Tent using using M3 Michigan Made Mix in Rain Science Grow Bags under California Lightworks 550 Solar System LED Lights. 5 regular seeds were soaked in water for 24 hours, and then placed in Rapid Rooters. Rapid Rooter plugs were placed in a seedling tray upon a heating pad and towel and put in darkness for 30 hours. 4/5 had sprouted in that time, pushing their little seed shells to the surface. 1/10/2020 - DAY 1 - 4/5 are thriving 48 hours later. Checked on the 5th seed and it never cracked so I'm moving forward with these 4 and hoping to get at least one female! 🙏🙏🙏 I surrounded the seedlings with clay pellets to block out light. Day 2 - Seedlings were transplanted into 16oz solo cups filled with M3 Michigan Made Mix. I cut slits in the bottom of the cup for drainage and have each one resting in a 12oz cup underneath to collect run off. I watered them very slowly until I had some drops of run off. I hate not being able to see their roots. 😭 #hydrogrowerproblems Current Light Settings - R39 W49 B99 Day 5 - Gave them some 6.5 pH water slowly until I had some runoff drops. These plants are looking fat and happy!!! 😍 Day 7 - Had my first learning experience, as I found some roots coming out of the bottom of my solo cup. I wasn't sure what to do or why it happened so I did some internetting and realized that my roots were seeking the moisture at the bottom of their runoff collecting cup. I had neglected to empty the runoff from one of the solo cups (not much at all mind you) and it was enough to attract the roots. I removed the cups from all 4 and will let the air-pruning commence! - air-pruning being another thing I learned about today! I'm really enjoying getting to experience the "new grower" feeling all over again. It's pretty cool. 😎 Slowly increasing Red and White light on my LEDs to gradually move seedlings into full Veg settings. 💜

Day 9 - These plants are growing immaculately. Dark green, thick, healthy leaves, no stretching, they're growing like an absolute dream. Since removing them from the run-off catching orange cups, they have happily air pruned themselves and are continuing to beast out. 💪 I've only watered them once on day 5 so far. I've been warned by other growers that M3 is very easy to accidentally over water, so I am keeping that on my mind with every check. Day 10 - Noticed some pale spots on one of my seedlings. It's only on the second true leaves of one plant. Gave them a watering with 6.5 pH water Day 11 - Spots on one of my plants still there, taking up a little more space on the leaves. Still only present on the second true leaves of this plant. The plant appears otherwise happy and healthy. All three others are green and mean. 💪 Day 12 - Transplanted these little lovies into 1 gallon pots. Gave a light watering to just the outer ring of the pot with 6.5 pH water. My Step-Veg program for my California Lightworks Solar System 550 has been gradually increased to R80 W80 B99. First time transplanting anything outside of a seedling before, I was embarrassingly nervous. Made sure to get a ton of pictures of each one because I'm Mom af. 😂 Anyway - excited to see how many ladies I can score this round! Please give me at least one! 💜🙏💙 Day 14 - Closing out a beautiful week. I'm still unsure of what is causing the spots on one of my plants. I've gotten many suggestions of pests, but I've spent at LEAST a cumulative 4 hours over the past 2 days with her under the microscope, combing the leaves like an overprotective mother, and I have seen zero suspicious microscopic gang activity. As a precaution, I mixed some neem oil and dish soap and sprayed all the plants at lights out. Storytime was a big hit with the kids. 🤣💜

Day 15 - Started our morning out with a fresh watering with 6.5 pH water until I had about 15% or so runoff. Girls all look happy after being sprayed last night. Changed light settings to full power R99 W99 B99. Spots on my one plant are on the 3rd and 4th true leaves. Still no signs of the cause. 🤷‍♀️ Gotta let this go and let it grow. 💪💜 Day 17 - It appears that the spots have halted their spread on that one little plant. I'll take it! Day 18 - Did some leaf tucking to better expose the growth sites of the lower nodes to the light. So far only 1 out of 4 are having any kind of horizontal growth. This made leaf tucking a little challenging, not having much to "tuck" the fan leaves under, but I did my best. 😊 Day 20 - Watered with 6.5 pH water until I had about 15% runoff. Everyone perked right up after that! Still trying to get the hang of what I'm doing, but so far everyone is hanging in there with me! Day 21 - smile ☺️

Day 22 - Abandoned all hope on leaf tucking until they branch out a bit more. It was more frustrating than effective. 😂 Going to be leaving these kids home alone for a few days while I'm out of town. I'm excited to see the growth when I come home - a watched pot never boils and I check in on these pots like 394 X a day - so it'll be a nice little break for everyone! Day 23 - Watered with 6.5 pH water until about 15%. Hitting the road now, so I won't see these babies for a few days! Let's hope there's no fighting while Mom is out of town! Day 27 - Came home from vacation with something to celebrate! I have identified female #1, who my daughter and I promptly named, Leia. Gave her a light watering to prepare her for transplant. Day 28 - Transplanted Leia into a 3 gallon Rain Science Grow Bag. I'm getting a bit more used to this transplanting business. I was happy to not find a totally root bound baby, because I really didn't know how long it was considered OK to keep her in a 1 gallon pot. 🤷‍♀️ She seems just fine to me! I'm thinking about trying some different topping techniques. I've never had to grow in the confinements of a 3 gallon pot before, so I'm trying to get the most out of my grow. This is the first time I've had to keep that consideration in the back of my mind, as I usually have the freedom of an 8 gallon hydro bucket. Option 1 - top her down to the 4th node. Keep 3rd and 4th nodes only, clean below the 3rd node. Top each of the branches once to give me 8 heads to balance around the grow bag. Option 2 - Top at 5th node, clean off 1st node. Grow nodes 2-5 evening out the canopy around the grow bag. If I get 2 females I can side by side grow to compare/contrast the grow styles. I am curious about trying option 1 because it is more outside of my comfort zone. I'm worried that option 2 is asking too much of a plant in that size container, but again, this is all me speculating as I have no experience with soil or the limitations of different size containers. Anyway, onward into week 5!

Day 29 - Let's talk about sex! ♀️♂️ So me, myself, and my OCD tendencies have had a busy couple of days obsessively stalking the preflower growth sites of my Blazin' Skywalker babies with a microscope. I have never had to sex plants before, so my natural curiosities took the wheel. I had so much fun being a complete and total dork that I decided to make a video for anyone else who might also be learning how to differentiate male from female plants. As I mention in the video, these are the earliest signs of my preflowers, so they may not be completely formed yet, but you can at the very least appreciate the difference in structure of the male and female parts and maybe some of you more experienced growers can chime in with your 2 cents? Do you think my guesses are correct? I hope so! 😜 Day 30 - Transplanted prospective female #2 into a 3 gallon rain science grow bag. Day 31 - Gave my 2 females a good watering with 6.5 pH water. 💦💦💦 Day 35 - watered the males with 6.5 pH water Gave the females a taste of some Green Buzz products mixed in their water. I took 1 gallon of water and added 4ml of Organic Grow Liquid, 4ml of Humeric Acid Plus and 4ml of More Roots. I then split that between the two plants, plus an additional liter of regular pH water until I had about 10/15% runoff.

Day 37 - Hitting the ladies with a little LST. My cloner project took a bit of a backseat to life, so I'm a little late in the game to top these babies.... So I decided I'm going to do something I have never done before.... Let these plants grow naturally. Yeah, you read that right, I've never let a plant just grow out without some sort of fun training technique. Even my very first grow was riddled with aggressive plant shaping. This time will be different! This time I will be just doing some very basic LST to open up their branches to more light. I went in and stripped some of the inner growth sites that would have produced nothing but popcorn buds being so hidden from light. I then created anchor points around the grow bags by pushing toothpicks through the holes in the mesh. I like this because it gives me the ability to easily move around anchor points by simply sliding out the toothpicks and moving them where I please. I got the idea from seeing someone else use pushpins once, but I didn't have any on hand. And so, the toothpick hypothesis was born, and so far its working very well! Both ladies look much happier now that they're getting more light to their branches. The leaves on these Blazin' Skywalker plants are just so effing fat that they've been doing a solid job at blocking light to the branches. I tried doing some leaf tucking early on, but the branches just weren't quite long enough for me to properly tuck the leaves behind them and would constantly come un-tucked. I think we've found our happy place. 😊 Thanks for hanging with me, growmies! I hope y'all have a crazygonuts awesome day! ✌️💜🌱 Day 41 - Watered Maz with some 6.5 pH water. She had gotten a bit over watered so I let her go a few extra days between watering. The next morning, she let me know I did the right thing. 💜

Day 44 - tossed some 6.5 pH water to my girl, Leia. They're both getting rather bushy. Leia has a great structure. I definitely want to clone this plant. Maz has a nice structure as well, but the tightness of her nodes made it take a little longer for her branches to reach out in veg. Day 47 - gave a hefty dose of defoliation along with a little branch stripping. I basically removed the inner bud sites that weren't going to be receiving any light so that the plant doesn't waste energy on buds that will only be larfy popcorn buds.

In an attempt to keep the canopy as even as possible, I went ahead and decapitated Leia. For the sake of habitual dramatics, I made sure that I made this decision as agonizingly drawn out as possible 🙄... But once it was over, I was very happy with the results! I removed her first node branches, took a few cuttings, and cleaned her up a bit. Maz got a nice defoliation and a bit of branch stripping. This pheno is short and squatty - which I love, but I know that comes along with difficulty distributing light amongst inner bud sites; so this grow I just decided to nix em! I took a couple cuttings from her as well. This grow has been an adventure - lots of firsts - and this is certainly another one as I've never topped so late in the damn game before, but look at us, here we are! 🤪 Maz is ready for flower, Leia needs one more week recovery, and my mainline that's sharing the tent should be ready then as well! Damn has this grow been fun!

Leia has not looked very happy ever since I topped her. I hypothesized that topping so late in the game might throw me a wrench - welp, here it go. Her leaves appear more on the droopy side and the color is paling. Being my first soil run, I sent our an SOS on Instagram and got some solid suggestions. On all fronts, it seemed we agreed this girl is hungry. I went and mixed some grow nutes that I won from Green Buzz - only 1 liter with 3ml of nutes to give a light feeding as I had just watered 2 days prior and was trying to not add an additional issue of over-watering. Day 62 - added some Coast of Maine organic plant food to the top soil today. About 3 tablespoons to each plant - mixing and blending it in. Who doesn't feel better after a light snack?

Finally sending these ladies into flower! I switched the light cycle to 12/12 and changed the light settings to R99 W99 B50 as suggested by California Lightworks. I've been adding both, Si28 Safe and P31 Microbes whenever I water. The color on Leia is slowly coming back - Maz looks better than ever. I spent some time with the plants, scrutinizing my branch positions and doing some more LST to open the plants up as best I can. I'm pretty happy with how things stand. In the name of improved air circulation and light distribution, I've officially kicked the weakest link, Leia, from the tent. My California Lightworks 550 Solar System LED can cover a 4x4 footprint, so what I do is during the day, she sits within the footprint with the tent doors open, and at night I close her into my ventilated closet for darkness. It's not the most ideal situation, but I'm rolling with it....that and I don't have the heart to cull plants. I still have my other 2 in 1 gallon pots sitting on the ledge of my jacuzzi tub growing with the sunlight from the window 🤣 So here's to rolling into flower!!! Cheers, growmies! 🥂🌸

Our second week of flower and things are looking happy! That Coast of Maine Organic Plant Food that I added to the top soil seems to have perked them up as pistils start sprouting up all over the place. A couple of weeks ago, I had taken some cuttings to attempt my first clones. In the picture above, you can see my Dollar Store cloner! After getting overwhelmed with making my dwc cloner - I said eff it, and trotted off to Dollar Tree. I bought a wide, hanging plant pot and a large, plastic food storage bowl. In the bottom of the hanging pot, I put perlite and some water. On top of that I placed the plastic insert of one of my seedling trays. I didn't have any cloner powder or gel, so I used saliva! I had my kids spit in a cup (which they thought was really cool for some reason 🤣) and used it as my "cloning gel". With sterilized tools, I cut the stem of my cuttings to a 45 degree angle, and then scuffed up the bottom of the stem a bit to give more access points for roots to form. I gave each cutting a dip in the saliva, then right into moist Rapid Rooters. You can see I accidently split the plastic in my food storage bowl while attempting to make air holes, but to be honest, the crack works just fine! I covered the hanging pot with my makeshift lid, and placed it on a heating pad with towels to keep the babies warm. Using just the light overflow of my tent, I let them sit, and I waited. Here we are, three weeks later, and while it wasn't the FASTEST way to root (which wasn't something I was worried about anyway), it worked! ALL FOUR of my cuttings have rooted! So I have 2 clones of each of my 2 phenotypes of Blazin' Skywalker! *cue the happy dance* The branch stripping I did at the beginning of this grow is really paying off. I am essentially just sitting back, watering, and letting the girls do their thang!

Really struggling with this soil thing. I chose to grow in M3 Michigan Made Mix with the expectation that my plants would have everything they need within the medium... But this is proving to most certainly not be the case. With soil, by the time I realize there is a deficiency, I'm a week out from treating it... Whereas in my hydroponic grows, I can resolve that problem within hours. In hydro, if I wake up and my plant looks hungry, I can feed her and by the evening she looks like she's recovering already... Unfortunately the adjustment to a soil frame of mind just isn't coming as gracefully as I had hoped. I am continuing to add some Coast of Maine Organic Plant Food to the top soil between waterings. I guess next week I'll see if it helped to bring her green back. If anyone else has any suggestions, please don't be shy! This is my first soil grow and I'm trying to navigate it as best I can, but I could always use words of wisdom! I have successfully cloned both of these plants just in case I have a favorite when this all finishes out. 😉 It was my first time at attempting to clone so it was pretty freaking exciting when I finally saw some roots! Both the Clones are in solo cups of M3 and both already have roots down to the bottom of the cups. 💕 So cool! 😁😁😁 This is Voodoo Mama Juju, signing off! ✌️💜🌱

Falling in love every single day! The two phenotypes have some distinct differences. The Leia pheno o has hairs that have a yellowish hue and have a super long reach. The Maz pheno has bright white pistils and the bud structure is more round. I cannot get over the amount of gorgeous sparkling trichomes that are already flooding the bud sites! 🤩 I've been continuing to add some Coast of Maine Organic Plant Food to the top soil in between waterings. I water every 6 days or so which I'm told is odd, but to be honest, it really isn't until day 6 that she feels truly dry - so I'm just rolling with it as long as it's working! Super sticky leaves that leave my fingers smelling so happy whenever I defoliate. 😋😉

Girls are getting big! I added some Green Buzz nutes to their water to give a little boost. Gave both of them a proper defoliation - focusing on removing some. Of the larger lower fan leaves that I had let hang out for a while. Both phenos have their own smell. I can't quite describe them yet, other than that Leia smells a bit more earthy than Maz. The trichomes that are coating these baby buds are abundant and sparkly like diamonds! They're both super sticky! The hairs on Leia are still really reaching! Her buds are stacking so nicely! Maz has these fat, round, swollen buds - both girls are coated in sugar. I realized over the past week that my watering practices weren't necessarily that great. I was watering each plant with a gallon of water, getting some runoff and only watering every 6 days or so. Someone suggested I try something different so that way the grow media isn't remaining too wet for too long. So this week I've cut my watering volume by half. I take one gallon to water both girls. This way I am watering every 3-4 days and the plants have more days of being in the sweet spot, vs extended time in the "too wet" phase. The plants undoubtedly enjoy this practice much better! I am very grateful for the guidance! Thank you for following along, loves! ✌️ 💜 🌱

Fragrances are really starting to develop this week. Both phenotypes smell differently. Leia has more of an earthy vibe going on so far while Maz smells straight up like candy! 🍬 Leia's yellow pistils are still stretching like crazy and her buds are nice and stacked. The bud structure on the Maz phenotype are very reminiscent of the Skywalker OG that was the mama for this cross. It's really cool to see and appreciate the differences. I changed my watering practices from 1 gallon every 6 days to 1/2 gallon every 3-4 days. The plants have seemed much happier with the change. 😉

The two phenotypes continue to display their differences. Leia - very hairy, airy buds - dazzled in diamonds. Smell I just can pinpoint yet. Nothing too distinct, but more on the earthy side. Maz - Round, fat, dense nugs that are covered in trichomes and smells like candy! 🍬 I've never had a plant smell like this before! Watering every 3 days with half a gallon each.

This week I began to introduce the California Lightworks UVB bar to supplement my Solar System 550 LED. I initiated use by beginning with a 30 minutes on time in the middle of my day cycle. I have since been increasing by 30 minutes each day. The color fade that's going on is absolutely stunning, but what even gets me even MORE excited is that the candy smell is getting stronger than ever! Maz is my keeper pheno and front runner for any fun breeding projects in the future. I also shared my stress-test side project I had going on behind the scenes to put these genetics through some stress in an attempt to test the stability of these genetics. I am blown away at how resilient these clones were! I am also excited to see that even under harsh conditions, the natural structure of my prize pheno is strong af 💪 💪 💪. It was fun a little project 💜☺️🌱

The color fade coming out of Maz Pheno of Blazin' Skywalker is making me weak in the knees! Combine that with her heavy fragrance of sweet candy and I can barely keep myself composed! This week I checked her trichomes and I have mostly milky with some amber so I decided it was time to put Miss Maz in darkness with some ice. The idea behind ice flushing, or most of the other "finishing moves" you may see in the gardens of fellow growmies - is simply to add an extra stressor to the plant at the end of the life cycle to trigger the natural defenses of the plant to protect itself by pushing trichome and resin production. Oddly enough, there isn't any clear scientific proof that any of these techniques actually do anything at all - there just simple hasn't been enough real research - but the idea behind them is intriguing enough to have some growers (yours truly included) trying all kinds of things! Periods of darkness, ice flushing, cold water flushing, stem splitting - all of these are different finishing techniques with the same goal in mind - adding stress to the plant in an attempt to trigger its natural defenses. Nature is effing cool. 😎 Leia still has a bit to go with mostly clear trichomes. The bud structure between the two phenotypes is so very different. So, closing out the week with one under the lights and one in the dark with some ice. 😎

Now that I have one pheno, Maz, moved out of the tent, Leia is basking in the light of her new spot within the tent. Leia's trichomes are still clear with some cloudy, so she's still got some time. Her buds have actually started plumping up a bit much to my surprise. Maybe she's just a late bloomer. 🌸 Maz Pheno - she was harvested on Day 66 of Flower. I'm going to create a separate harvest report for each phenotype to help me with my hunt for the power pheno! My hands smell like Skittles whenever I'm done checking on her. Straight up skittles. I don't think I've ever been this excited to sample a bud!

The color fade is strong with this one! After harvesting the other pheno last week, Leia took over her spot with a better seat under the lights. Almost immediately her buds starting fattening up and her true colors started shining! I may have mentioned before, but her smell reminds me heavily of blue dream from her dad's side. 😉 I have been giving just water every 3 days or so. Trichomes are milky with some clear.
