Growing in the blue tank let’s a bit of light in resulting in bacteria growth Working on moving them into their respective 5gallon tanks.
Will eliminate pythium (bacterial growth) with a beneficial microbe tea bath in the next day or two.
Transplant into their respective 5 gallon tanks went smoothly. Had to leave plants alone for 4 nights, PH on one crept to 7~ ok those nights. (maybe fighting bacterial infection, or just my carelessness) and had some stunting but once corrected she jumped right back.
Proceeding with some LSTing with plant wire and custom plant lid mod.
Plant 1: PH dropped (4.9) range for a few days, couldn’t check on the res. Suspect that the low PH is what caused the little spots showing on older leaves, locking out Cal-Mag?
(Corrected and added a little CalMag)
Plant 2: PH in range, older leaves a little yellow, added some Micro nutrient
First plant seems to be a lot less bushy but has matured a lot quicker.
Multiple colas are showing, everything going as planned pertaining to the training of the plants to maximize light penetration to maximize cola production.
Check on root system, not sure if left over soil in my tea is straining through the roots causing them to discolor. Sprayed with shower head( chlorinated water) to dissolve any bacteria on roots. Cleared up 85%.
Brewing new tea now, will flush tanks and scrub with antibacterial soap.
Plant 1: Seems I have possibly overfed her, my EC meter is on the fritz. Diluted the tank, may need to do it again and let her sit at a lower EC.
I didn’t realize auto flowers were so sensitive to nutrients and didn’t require as much, my fault for not researching a bit more.
She’s already mid flower and producing smell so i will attempt to correct what i can.
Plant 2: PH perfect and responded incredibly well to the tea i brewed, root zone exploded with life. Seems she isn’t in flowering yet cause she’s still growing unlike P1. Root rot is clearing away.
Nutrients were added in same amounts to both tanks. Seems this one can take it since she isn’t flowering yet.
So it has been a trial filled last 2ish weeks with these plants, mainly due to it being my fault for not realizing i need a dedicated bennitea tank. P1 had got pythium really bad and was close to dying. Seems whatever harvest i will get from her will be greatly diminished.
Also my fault that i didn’t plant these seedlings directly to their final container and invited in pathogens. Will remedy this maybe by switching to a CocoCoir system, dunno yet.
Got a new Bluelabs EC meter and its amazing and worth every penny
P1: I had overfed P1 and she stunted and never reached her full potential, i had to cut some of her root system off cause of infection, included a bath in h2o2 for a few hours and a bath in aerated bennitea overnight.
Very slow to recover but shes coming thru to harvest at least so that’s cool, i had to run my nutrient solution by measuring it in ML’s as i couldn’t read the EC. New meter problem solved.
P2: She bounced back incredibly fast, did the same baths as P1, she just responded better and is on the up and up. Im very careful with her feeding. Continuing to grow vertically and still training her as well.
So haven’t updated in a long time, ran into job loss etc but so far managed to make it through and upgrade my setup in the process because of heat issues and tent relocation.
Now included a AC Infinity full setup and dual 600w lights :)
Plant 1 eventually didn’t make it due to constant root rot issue, beat if with this one(plant2) buy using custom tea bags inside the DWC and mix of molasses. Keeps everything healthy.
Have gone semi synthetic with my growing and moved onto a new setup using Coco-Coir. So far had 1 seedling die, and two super runted cause I moved them to big pots too soon.
Growing a cheese next :).
