20 Jan 2020: Helmet head (again) poked up yesterday. After dropping it with warm water every hour or so, this morning I gently pried the shell off myself. It’s stretching slightly but I’m hoping that’s because of the shell blocking the leaves rather than light height.

It’s stretching slightly but I’m hoping that’s because of the shell blocking the leaves rather than light height. 27 Jan 2020: Day 8, watered with 200ml 6.5 water last night. No issues so far despite damaged cotyledon that died off after removing the seed shell. Added fan last night also.

3 Feb 2020: Day 15, discovered mottled type yellow spots on the second set of leaves yesterday. I’m thinking calmag again, perhaps should’ve been quicker with adding it coming into week 2? Watered with 200ml and full strength calmag to try and help, also switched to 20/4 schedule to try and help it out. 8 Feb 2020: Day 20, no further yellow spots but still usual signs of light fading between veins on some leaves. Overall healthy enough though. LST started today.

10 Feb 2020: Day 22, going ok I guess. The plant feels a bit small to me for 3 weeks, hoping it will put a stretch on this week. Struggling with low humidity and low night temps. Did LST on day 20, added duct fan during week 3 also.

17 Feb 2020: Day 29. Was a good week overall, humidity went up a bit and plant went into flower. 1.5ml of calmag seems to be holding the deficiencies at bay, and did some heavy LST giving a nice flat canopy. The weather was cold last night so it’s drooping again, hopefully it recovers soon. 19 Feb 2020: Day 31. Still looked droopy yesterday so gave it its first good full soaking (2L) with 1/8 nutes. That evening looked slightly better but still bad. Raised light a from 16” to 18” and finally this morning looks back in action. Continuing to tie down, will prob let it go soon. Light is still at 80w.

24 Feb 2020: Day 36. Week 5 was a little tough, drooped a lot and took some experimenting to check if it’s the watering or light. As usual it seems to be the light, I’m having to keep it at about 20inches min now at 80w for the plant to be happy. Otherwise seems ok.

March 2nd 2020: Day 43. Week 6 was much better. Got the light at the right level now. Noticed something interesting in that the plant will start to droop a little around 3 days after watering. When I water it it droops hard for a few hours then perks up stronger than ever. Yesterday was first full strength nutes but holding off on the biogrow as the leaves look plenty green. Finally, bumped light to 90w yesterday and it seems to be doing fine so far. Will try push to 100w next week if all well.

9 March 2020: Day 50. Fine week other than on Thursday where I tried to push the lights another time to 90w. Came home and the plant had gone into overdrive, with multiple leaves turning yellow. Removed them and backed back off to 80w and things seem happy/praying again. This plant just doesn’t seem to take to light well. Up to 3L watering now, some frost and more visible buds taking shape this week also.

Can someone verify my latest 2 photos look like nanners? If so, I’d love some insight on why my plants seem to be so light sensitive. Most growers seem to blast their plants with upwards of 200w with little issue. Mine is sitting at 80w 22inches and it seems to be struggling!

It looks like it might be but it’s difficult to tell. I have had growths like that that weren’t “nanners” that I originally thought were and it turned out to be a bleached sugar leaf in my case. https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabis-plant-problems/male-plants-hermies-bananas How is your airflow? If your air isn’t bringing in enough fresh CO2 for the plant to keep up with high powered lighting then the plant will yellow out and bleach. My next guess would be temperature from the lights causing stress but you appear to have finished grows with this setup before, correct? So perhaps it’s just this strain not liking your lighting.

16 March 2020: Day 58. Fine week other than the nanners scare. Thanks to those who responded - Im hoping it was just weird/bleached leaves as I haven't seen anything else suspicious since removing them. The fact I can't hit the plant with more than 80w still annoys me though. Have bumped the acfininity from 2 to 3 in case it is the case that it's not getting enough fresh air into the tent. Other than all that the buds seem to be developing nicely.

24/03/2020: Day 65. Left it one day too late to water during the week and the plant yellowed up pretty badly over night. Trying not to remove too many of the leaves so just removed the 3-4 worst ones. Dropped light to 75w for a day or two to give it a chance to recover. Need to hang in there for another 2-3 weeks, buds still not that hefty yet.

30 March 2020: Day 72. This week bumped light to 100w and the plant actually seemed to finally respond ok. Went to 135w for the hell of it last night so will keep an eye on things. Haven't check the trichs yet but can't see it going much more than another 2 weeks. Will have a look before next watering and may start on the plain water depending.

Apr 6 2020: Day 79. Must be pretty close. Trichs still look clear to me which is holding me back from flush. Im tempted to start flushing this week anyway and see how it goes but hesitant till I start seeing cloudy trichs. Picked up some biobizz heaven for my next grow so started adding this in for good measure. I believe the yellowing/burning on the top fan leaves is a Potassium issue, maybe I should have been upping the bloom nutes earlier. The bottom half of the plant is still very healthy and green. Apr 8th 2020: Day 81, started flush today with 2L ph'd water. Trichs starting to look more cloudy now.

Dude, this is a beautiful plant - very nicely done. Nope - can't give you a specific ratio unless you labelled each trich. photo by it's position on the plant. That said, I can tell you that you're probably a week to the opening of the harvest window. Most of those trichs. are showing clear or cloudy which means you could chop now but you're gonna get racier effects and it won't be quite as potent if you have some patience and wait a little longer. The benchmark is 20% amber and the rest cloudy but this is only a benchmark and entirely the grower's discretion. Easy to tell your about a week out from the window too. That potassium issue you mentioned in your weekly comment isn't a deficiency. It's actually the plant entering the "fade". Forgive me, I forget the scientific term for it but your plant has essentially matured and is now consuming it's nutrient stores. If you've got lower temps in your grow space I would imagine they are also assisting with giving your leaves that pretty colouring too. IMO - you're good to start flushing now if you plan on flushing the plant at all. Check those trichs daily from here on out and you should see some amber and further turnover within the next 7 days. Between a week and 10 days I think you'll be taking this girl down. Best of luck with the chop dude - she really looks great👌

13 Apr 2020: Day 86. Continuing flush giving another 2L ph’d water yesterday. Removed quite a few dead dried up leaves. The trichs still don’t look quite where I need them to be, I find it hard to see though. Will probably harvest next weekend regardless.

19 Apr 2020: Day 92. Could have waited to harvest on 4/20 but today suited better. The trichs were still not where I want them, which is sad. I dont have good confidence they were going to change and decided to go with the plants appearance. It was hanging in there but today I noticed a lot more strange looking pistols which was concerned may be the start of (more?) nanners. So I decided to put here out of her misery. I found this plant moderately difficult to grow, it definitely has light sensitivity issues, along with slightly unstable genetics, a tendency to stretch big time, and going 92 days, I probably wouldn't grow it again. That being said I'm very happy with the result which is some very chunky, frosty buds, purple tinged buds, and a harvest 10g over my previous best! Looking forward to the dry/cure. Some things I learned this grow: - Im still getting the hang of light heights, and should probably invest in a PAR meter. For the next grow Im going to leave it at its current height and max wattage, and see how it goes if the plants grow into it. - Calmag is still hard to get right, and plants under LEDs seem to need a lot, at least in Biobizz Light mix. Next grow Im adding 1ml / L from the outset. - Im getting better at nitrogen management, no clawing at all this time round. - I've got the hang of LST, managing to keep everything in check for a flat canopy. I also know that some plants will respond better to this then others though. I'm curious to know what my yield would be if I didn't LST, but in this case I did as much as I could to keep it away from the light. - This was my healthiest and best looking plant to date till it got into about week 3 of flower. The first major damage was when I was a day late with watering and it devoured the fan leaves. Some may say this is natural fade but I think it happened too early and could have been avoided, especially for a plant looking to live long.
