WEEK 2 Jan 21-27
(Wk2-3) Gameplan: introduce a small amount of veg nutes (FF Grow Big) during feeding, day of rest, start LST, day of rest, water with nutes if ladies are ok- ph’d water if not, day of rest, preventative pest control- Organicide 3in1 and turn on 1 bloom switch- adjust height if needed, day of rest, turn on other bloom switch and adjust height if needed- 20-28” per manufacturer.
Day 12- 70rh/80f, calibrated ph tester- tap 7.2, it’s a piece of shit and for some reason it doesn’t seem to go below 6.9, started using drop tester instead as it’s comparable to some test strips I have so I feel it’s more accurate for now, starting with very little liquid nutes with today’s watering Fox Farm Grow Big, 5ml per gallon- 30% recommended, watered .75@L each 6.5ph
Day 14- attempting to drop rh, gonna try for -5rh per week, yesterday and today holding steady at 67rh day and 73rh night. Started LST on all four ladies- no issues

DsrspctflPlmbr Some minor issues here and there but all 4 appear to be coming along nicely. Added a humidifier and rearranged the ventilation a little to combat a slight increase to heat since turning the lights on 100%.

DsrspctflPlmbr Had to resolve some ventilation/heat/humidity issues. Heat was up to 85/86 right before lights out a couple days, now 78-82 days. I raised the light about 2”, as I am using two lights so it probably makes sense to cut it back from manufacturer recommendations. Also added a 10’ section of 4” duct to draw some cooler air, 66f, from further away from the tent. Which of course lowered humidity. Which is why I added the humidifier last week. Everything stable now.

DsrspctflPlmbr No complications. Defoliated day 29, largest fans and some leaves that could not be tucked, maybe 30% defoliated. Connected 6” discharge fan to reduce rh, on 20 min every hour on the hour during lights out.

DsrspctflPlmbr No complications. Defoliated 15% this week. They all seem to be bouncing back quickly after defoliation. Will probably start to lower N next week.

DsrspctflPlmbr Let loose most of the training. Starting to notice possible nitrogen decencies with lower leaves and a couple fans. I don’t think there is a need for concern, will continue to monitor.
@Dahoola, Thanks! I saw you have an Auto Gelato in flower in you’re journals. Yours seem a good distance ahead of mine at around a week or two. I look forward to your insight over the next couple months.
@DsrspctflPlmbr, they look great! What week are you in now? I’ve had no complications with mine either she’s growing massively as I didn’t lst her. I thought I’d go for the cheap cfl for my first grow before investing but I’m now thinking I should’ve just invested in the led😅 happy growing!
@Ema26, I just started week 7 and they look fantastic. I’m a little behind on the journal obv but it just takes too long to organize the photos to stay current. I hear the cfl’s are great for seedlings and early veg so many start there then get a second light, one focused on the flowering spectrum, when the hit flower or start the next grow. I’ve considered getting a cfl to use just for the first few weeks.
@DsrspctflPlmbr, I look forward to seeing the photos! I’ve been wondering what’s going on🤣 yeah I feel that it gets rather confusing what photos are what. I did research on cfls and there’s a lot saying theyre not bad for the whole grow they just don’t get you a big yield with less dense buds which I can live with for a first grow. I’ll definitely be switching to led for flowering in my next grow. The cfl bulb I have is pretty big and it’s dual spectrum. They’re very seedling friendly. I found 10cm was a safe distance without risking growth burning her up.
@Bochka, the first week or two one of the girls had twisted wavy leaves. I was told to use Epsom Salt because you only need a little and you can’t over do it. I’m not 100 but I believe the salt fixes the same issues CalMag does but safer.
