Last week I upped the dose of epsom salt. I thought I was seeing signs of magnesium deficiency in the stems of my plants. It turns out not to be the case. The Pure Kush didn't seem to mind the extra magnesium. However, the C99 didn't like it at all. I eliminated the epsom salt all together. I think might be unnecessary. I gave this PK plant a nice little trim under her canopy. There are 14 side branches reaching for the sky. So as they grow I will be removing the large fan leaves to clear a path for them. Pretty soon the top that I trimmed will be long enough to start training and I can begin to form my canopy for flower. Maybe another month or so before flower.

@AbroCadabro, That's great man! I love seeing Growers that do "Family" grows! I grow for personal use only too, but my grows cover a pretty large family lol! I hear you on camera quality... It's hard to find good ones at a good price. I downloaded for my Android an app called "Magnifier Camera" and it allows for some very good closeups.

@BudKingsGrow, Thanks. There isn't much to see. I just have one 2' x 4' x 5' tent that I grow my plants in. 2 plants every 6 months. One for myself (Usually an Indica or dominant hybrid) and one for the wife (Sativa). I don't have a nice camera to take photos with. At the moment, I just use my smartphone. I have a Nikon Coolpix. However, it is terrible at close up shots and video. I will try to get some video in the next weeks diary with my smartphone.

She's looking good this Week! I get a few leaves with that yellowish spots now and again, No clue what it is and it doesn't seem to effect growth.

@BudKingsGrow, Good to know. I usually don't start to worry until it shows on a few of the leaves. However, you know how obsession goes... It's in the back of my head as a possible flag to look out for in the coming days or weeks.

Amazing this week! Those crazy side-branches are a pain when it gets to harvest, but I do love getting tons of little nugs! How'd the yellow spots turn out, they go away?
BudKingsGrow
BudKingsGrowcommented7 years ago
@AbroCadabro, Very nice! Had a feeling that they weren't gonna be a problem for you!
AbroCadabro
AbroCadabrocommented7 years ago
@BudKingsGrow, No. They didn't go away. However, they didn't show up anywhere else either. So that's good I plan on giving her a good defoliation before the end of week 3. Probably tonight. Some of these side branches are getting starved of light and growing in really small and pale green, almost yellow. If I can get these side branches more exposure to the light. They might fill out over the next week and turn into some decent bud sites.

Looks like a fantastic start Abro. I can't wait to see what these plants have in store for the future of this grow. What nutrients do you plan on using for her?
DabCrab
DabCrabcommented7 years ago
@AbroCadabro, I'm going to enjoy sticking around to check that out buddy. Should be a fantastic grow. I'm excited for you :D
AbroCadabro
AbroCadabrocommented7 years ago
@DabCrab, I still have a bunch of General Hydroponics 3 part nutrients. Same stuff that I used on the Black Afghan grow diary. However, I think this time I am going to try adding a bacterial field to the soil. The local hydroponics store started selling two different bacterial supplements. One for veg and one for flower. I would like to see if there are any noticeable changes to how the plant grows if I top dress with the bacterial supplement.

Looking beautiful! Red stems is usually a sign of Nitrogen deficiency. If you do add some, go on the low side of dosages because you dont wanna hit Her with too much Nitrogen this late in the game and have Her get burned and interrupt flowering. Maybe even go with a time-released Nitrogen supplement like Jobes organic Tomato or Expert Gardener Tomato and Vegetable 12-10-5 to mitigate chances of any kind of overload. But She is beautiful regardless, and should still produce well!! Great job! 👊

When I pulled the root ball out of the plastic pot, the entire side of the pot was white with roots. Both plants were affected.
