hello again guys and welcome to my auto zkittlez grow by seedsman, as I've mentioned on my last grow, I had to cut the grow somewhat short during flower and yield wasn't so great so I decided to do another one in my new place with enough space for better airflow and fitting all the equipment inside the grow tent since i'm only doing one plant in a bigger pot with autoflower since living here is going to be temporary. I am estimating this grow to be done within 2-3 months and drying might or might not take place somewhere else. For now, lets get started. This seedling took about 3-5 days to germinate from leaving it in water for a day and the rest waiting for it to grow a taproot until I was able to transfer it to an ounce plastic cup with holes on the bottom. Where the grow is now is about 7 days old before I will transplant into coco coir which is enough time to be ready for nutrients, so I will be starting week one at this point. There are a few changes to the tent like the tank reservoir inside the tent with the same irrigation system I used in the last grow except im using a single ring to a single plant. I personally make the holes on the ring surrounding the plant and although tedious, it ensures me the medium gets evenly soaked, and will help when the plant gets too bushy and hard to see under the canopy. I've also changed the light yet again to something more quieter and energy efficient with a Spider Farms SF1000 running at around 100w but claims to be as efficient as a 1000w LED blue/purple grow light, but I feel like it's putting out a real full spectrum (also claims to be running a par value of 250.43umol/S)and to add it is VERY bright which is more than enough for this small grow. It barely exhausts any heat since the tents temps stayed at or below 78 degrees and has no fan so surprisingly this light makes for a great stealthy piece of equipment. I will be using this light from veg to harvest which I believe will give me a clearer grow to spot deficiencies easier with bigger yields according to other grows. I will be posting photos next week of the new setup as well as how the plant is coming along after it's first nute feeding and hope to see you guys follow me for the next few months! cheers

Hey everyone, it's now week 2 and lots have happened in the first week of veg. In the beginning when the seedling was in the plastic ounce cup, I noticed that the grow tent wasn't really as warm as I needed it to be and shrugged it off thinking this seed would persevere until it was big enough to transplant into the 3 gallon pot; boy was I wrong. The seedling was showing signs of either over watering or cold temps coming from the serious drooping from the first fan leaves ever since the light was hanged up at 24" from the cup. Initially the temps weren't reaching 80 let alone 75 as well as the humidity reaching way below 60% down to 48% unless it was lights out in which case had reached levels up to 71%, so I figured fluctuating rH and low temps was the problem. I felt previously that I wasn't too keen on planting in these cups regardless of the holes I made for drainage on the bottom yet I used one and deeply regret not getting a starter pot instead. The only leaves that were growing and drooping was already showing tip burning probably due to the stress and introduction to nutrients so I think it was best to transplant early and cross my fingers that the transfer to the bigger pot and pray it wasn't going to stress it too much. Although it needed the space and humidity from the growing medium to fill the air with moisture in order to breath and grow more comfortably. To solve the heat problem I lowered the light to 18" so it would get a little warmer which did help after a few days into the transplant halfway ending to week 1. The leaves are now propping up towards the light and is growing a second set of leaves right now which have a tinge of purple in the center and on the stem probably due to the cold temps and perhaps genetics. I have a good feeling about this growing now that it's striving this far so I will be giving it a stable measurement of nutrients for the next few weeks. On a side note i'm enjoying how quiet the light is, I can't wait until it starts flowering so I can see well it worked during veg in due time, thats all for now!

Sup guys, its now week 3 and i'm excited to see that the seedling it was a couple weeks ago with burnt leaf tips and drooping has now grown into a small sprout with small fan leaves and with about 2 nodes growing already. The purple in the center has gone now that the temps have gotten warmer and more comfortable for her but there's always chances of the growth being stunted like earlier so I have had my heater outside the tent warm the ambient growing environment so there's indirect heat available if needed. The temps have also been going up randomly on days when it hasn't been so cold and with the light being so close up to 18" I had to raise them again just to make sure it wasn't going to get light burn. There's nothing much to cover that's new until week 4 where it's going to be in between being topped, vegging, and transitioned to flower so week comments won't be as descriptive, until then we'll see whats in store for us next week, see you next week!

Hello yall, this is week 4 coming in and I got some strange and perhaps good news in a certain view. The plant has grown pistils already! I was hoping for it to grow one more node until I could top it or start training but it seems like the unnecessary stress from earlier must have given it the go to start flowering. I'm not sure if it's too late to do any training but the new leaves look fine and the nodes are growing out nice as well so I think what I will do is just forget about topping this time and just start training now before the stems get harder to bend and while it's in transition to mid flower. I will be training it for about a week or so making sure all the nodes get air and light. I will do an LST cycle of about 2-3 days depending on how well it's handling the training. I've also taken a closer look and got a little whiff of whats to come and i'm pretty excited, these few months will be great.

I'm loving the way this auto grow is going and how the very light defoliation had given it the extra energy to be transferred where it needed to go. On week 4 I said i wasn't going to top it but from what I can see, the big fan leaves seem to get in the way because of how fast they grow compared to the height. I for sure know it's going to be a small bush with wide leaves so I figured topping it was a better direction to this grow. I noticed the bottom fan leaves that initially grew were small and were going to get covered anyways from the new bigger ones so I clipped them a long with the very very first ones from seed which were drooping so much and weren't getting any light or air. I did this in the middle of the week when the feeding reservoir was empty and so I just did a plain watering since then until now so it wouldn't get any further stress from possible nutrient burn because the run off was reading a point above 6.1 pH and a ppm of around 580-600. I will be giving it nutrients this week and a boost of silica so the structure can get stronger from fluctuating temps and humidity now that it's getting warmer these days. There is also a slight sour/citrus smell to the tent now and found out that this strain in particular will stink a lot, hopefully the carbon filter will help out with that. I'm very happy with how things are going and can't wait until it's grown in height a bit more and spread its roots further around the 3 gallon pot so yields can flourish. see ya!

Week 6 and the plant is growing faster than before. Just after the week ended prior to this I gave it a plain pH water feeding to ease into the training and topping so there wouldn't be a chance of nutrient burn or stunting for what I was going to do. During the week I also did some tiny defoliating on some leaves deep under the canopy and some old fan leaves which weren't getting any light either. The plant sort of loved that and was growing in heights up to 7-8 inches which some nodes being left under the big leaves which could easily be exposed if I had done some LST but I was busy as well so it had to wait until a few days before the week ended. On Thursday I tied it down with wire twists and it was way easier than what I used before (string) and proved to be more effective in holding them down and adjusting as well. Today the growths are back to normal and seems to be in some sort of mid flowering already. I will be observing this plant more closely as i'm still training some growths and will be giving it a nutrient feeding after she finishes the reservoir of plain water first. She seems to be somewhat thirsty but she will definitely drink once shes gone towards full on flower this whole month. I can't wait until shes mature enough so I can start on my next grow, but that would take a bit too once I finished moving to the new place. Until then, see you next week.

It's now week 7 for this auto zkittlez grow and i'm proud to say that it's been doing so well in training and the light defoliating I did during week 6. Last week I started on it's first training and was able to train it again to cut an inch off from height and make use of the room since it's just one big plant in a 3 gallon pot. I was very surprised from the defoliation I did these couple weeks after training to get rid of leaves that weren't serving any purpose since it was hidden so well under the canopy and will doing another light defoliation before it goes full blown flower, perhaps a couple days after this post will probably be it's last one until further notice. The feeding will be a consecutive nutrient feeding schedule unless it gets nutrient toxicity or if I have to stress her from more training or defoliating. I have a good feeling though that it's super strong enough to do that since I will also be boosting more silica into the reservoir to make sure that fluctuating temps won't affect it now that the lights are now giving a lot more heat than usual now that the humidity has gotten more stable due to the growth. By the end of the week I will consider bringing in the dehumidifier if it grows fast enough so that bud structure can grow more comfortably without the risk of bud rot as well as raising the lights a bit higher now that i'm giving it the go to get as high (heh) as it can get. The smell has gotten a lot more stronger than when it first started and it's giving off a nice pungent/skunky scent with citrus undertones. Some of the older pistils under the leaves have turned a noticeable orange so i'm curious how it will look when it comes to harvest time! Hope to see whats to come by the end of this week, see ya.

Pinks, purples, lots of pistil hair growths, just what I like to see for a new week. It's the 8th week and the plant is doing so well in growth, deficiencies are definitely gone and new growth is flourishing with color and smells. Adjusting the tie downs and smelling my fingers after just touching the branches smell very potent still. Although it's not as strong right now, I feel like it will stink up once the flowers start getting bigger. I've counted at least 30ish main colas with about 4-5 promising ones for big yields, i'm sort of glad about using a bigger pot for this one plant since it's short lifespan would appreciate the bigger space, but I have also learned my lesson in just planting it in the bigger pot to minimize stress from the transplant. The roots haven't grown through the pot yet but that doesn't seem like a problem because the pot is so big. I noticed one of the branches has stretched so much that it's split in the middle but it healed fairly fast, I thank the silica for the speedy recovery so I will be keeping the same nutrient amount for that and reducing everything else now that there's only 2-3 weeks left of this grow, it seems like yesterday that I germinated it but I appreciate the time I had caring or this, I will be looking to do more auto grows with smaller pots and possibly 2 plants simultaneously. I'm reducing the humidity now to about 40-50% so that the trichomes can grow without risking them being burned or risking bud rot. The light will stay around 12-18 inches from the top canopy and will try to avoid the top growth from getting to close. I'm still doing light defoliation and i'm removing leaves less often each time so I will be just looking after it and letting her go with how she wants to grow until at least a week or so later. I hope all of you have been doing well with the virus outbreak by washing your hands and what not, i trust you all will do well! see ya!

Its been a sloooooow week coming into the 9th week into thi grow, and although news everywhere is not looking great, this plant undeniably striving in these hard times. I've been out of work and have had lots of time to watch and see how this girl has been growing. The smell is getting more pungent everyday and theres more trichomes growing in each day little by little. I hope I haven't stunted it or anything since i've been giving it a light trim almost every day from 2-5 leaves with one day trimming about 14 fan leaves to expose the lower growth shown in one of the photos. Those bud sites have been getting a head start on growing trichomes which has me puzzled on whether its because of the more humid air and not being so close to the light so they had a chance in somewhat perfect climate to grow some without getting them burned, or because nutrients go where its closer first and thats why they're developing faster. Either way the bottom ones seems like it will develop sooner than the tops, but not the ones towards the outside of the plant (those look nice) that are growing from main branches from when it was first topped. It's been drinking a lot now that all the energy is being put on growing these colas and I've done a 10% run off feeding on it's last one prior to this log where I was able to pH test the run off where it read as 6.2-.6.3 so I will doing a lower pH feeding a couple times until it's back to normal. The extra boost of bloom nutrients has been treating her well and I think it I will be doing it for another week, or so until these plants start to get bigger fully knowing they've definitely stunted a weeks worth in the beginning. I also feel like it might need another week of growth or until it's for sure mature, even though next week will cap off the breeders suggested flowering time of 75 days, I'll have time to monitor the growth rate and determine whether another week is needed for full maturity. I have time so its not a big deal, I do want some quality product this time so i can't wait for another week to pass and start drying this zkittlez grow!

We're now at week 10 and about a week or so left until I decide to chop this bush down and begin drying and curing. I haven't really been doing much this week besides trimming one or two leaves off, the week prior I have removed only 4 during the whole week and the plant in whole has still been developing rapidly. This is supposedly the last week from the breeders description that the plant should be mature enough but with the transplant in the beginning stunting it for a week has probably been enough reason why growth was unstable during the whole time, I sort of felt it as well when it started flowering at such a small size. I've learn my mistake have redeemed myself with the care i gave it after the stunting. The lower bud sites are still deep green as if they haven't received enough light and I tried to fix that by lowering the light but the taller colas were getting too close (at least 5-8" close) so I decided to leave it at around 10-13" away so I don't disrupt the growing environment too much. I don't want to open the tent too much too now that it stinks up my small room in seconds and sometimes creeps through the doors out to the other rooms and outside the house if my window is open so I'll be looking into the tent when i need to water, fix something with the irrigation system, fix the height of the light, or get ready to harvest. I don't think I will be defoliating anymore since all bud sites are exposed to an extent and I just overall don't want to bother her and watch her naturally do the rest. I will be giving it another week or so to catch up making it around 75-80 days in total. I will be flushing it by now since i've looked at the trichomes on the most and least developed to find that it's starting to amber already with about a quarter turning white so purging the nutes now will be essential towards the end, i'm pretty excited and hope you guys are too.

One more week until harvest day, coincidentally, I feel like I will be able to chop her down on April 20th heh.. very great timing. The colas are all gaining a lot of sunlight and even the smaller growths on the bottom as well now that i've cleared and tucked a lot of the leaves that need that one more week of life until they're ready to trim and dry. I bought a scale and boveda hydro packs at 62% so I can get them ready for curing after the dry. I'm not sure how much I will yield but I plan on place them in one big jar instead of 2 smaller ones, because if I do use smaller jars, then I need to get another small hygrometer to control the humidity in both jars. I'm not too sure about my living condition because of the virus but hopefully when things clear up, there will be a window of opportunity to grow more plants for future grows. For now I will be covering this one until I get an end product a few weeks after they get jarred and burped properly. I have been feeding her just plain pH balanced water and I must say it's so easy to feed her now that she drinks about a gallon ever 1-2 days, nothing else to cover but to wait until the big day next week, I will be logging in an entry on 4/20 when I go over my drying method and wet weight, i'm so excited to be getting a good supply of dank for the following month or so, see ya!

This is the final week of grow for this plant, I will keep this short since nothing was really done except taking some dry yellowing leaves off the floor and lowering the light to about 8" but for the most of the week, i've kept it at 12". I stopped watering it today and the soil is somewhat wet but pretty dry so it can keep eating nutrients in their leaves and inner foliage. I've also fixed some ties from the training so all the bud sites on the cola get exposed to light. Today I will start giving it 48 hours of darkness until it is ready to harvest Monday. I hope you all are doing well among this crisis and i'm very excited to start trimming and weighing it the wet bud, and as well as the dry weight a couple weeks later. Thanks for everyone who has been checking this grow and hope your grow yields as much as possible. see ya!

The harvest went truly well and as organized as possible, for this grow, I've chosen to do a wet trim and extraction of each branch off the plant since i don't have the shears to cut the main stem. There's no better time to finish a grow than today on this blessed 420, this grow has been keeping me busy in this pandemic and has enabled me to apply all my focus on the grow everyday, twice a day at least. The smell filled the room and later the house when I finished trimming with the sweet and deep scents of grapefruit with a fuel, gassy, pungent smell. This has got to be the most strongest smelling strain I came across. I've decided to hang it on hangers since I couldn't find a way to dry them, I feel like I should have invested in drying nets but hopefully this will suffice. I got almost half a pound with stems and all wet weight so lets see how much I will yield after the drying process and perhaps after the curing phase as well, just to be more thorough in information. What I have learned from this grow were key essentials for what I can do the next time. -Make sure to plant in the same pot you are going to be harvesting from to alleviate the chances of stunting and stress in order to get that week needed for that short veg -As soon as the flowering begins, add 10-20% increment boosts of bloom nutrients each week in your feeding to prepare your plant for that short mid flower to full on flower within the next two weeks or so -If you know your plant will be a short one with large dense buds, it's recommended to use dry nets in order to properly make use of the tents or your drying environments proportions I will be updating the dry weight in a week or so, as well as some photos of the dry and cure result. Happy 420 and again stay safe at home, thanks again for checking my grow, peace. (EDIT @ April 29th 2020: I just sampled it after about a little over a week of curing in jars and the flavor profile is somewhat there but the smell was not so present, will be curing it further and updating this log in specific) (EDIT @ May 6th 2020: I've been curing for almost a month now and i've sampled it again this morning in order to experience and construct an opinion with more clarity. The smoke was more thicker than usual an had burned more faster which was odd considering the humidity has only been decreasing by 2% I will be placing one boveda pack in each jars and will continue to cure. The flavor is much more mellow but not so apparent but breaking down the buds filled the room with a sour diesely sharp fuel and dark citrus fruit flavor, not so much candy or skunky, but more pungent. The stems had broken much more easier but clearly from the bigger ones being more bendable there is much more to be done, I will be updating in two weeks to a month, see you then if you're still lookin!) (EDIT May 14th 2020: I've been popping the lids off these jars less and less frequently now that it's been about almost a months worth of drying and curing, tonight i've sampled some of the smaller buds and now see a way bigger difference with smell and taste from these buds, and just a nice aroma when sparked in a large rolled joint of king size, it really comes out full force and gives a heady, face high that is not too intense but really chill and mellow, it's a perfect high to be doing something productive or relaxing on the couch or bed. The flavor when smoked is a crisp but kushy diesel taste with lavender and purple berry undertones, will try to update next sampling in a month but will be smoking casually perhaps once a week since there is a lot heh) (EDIT May 21st 2020: It's been a month after curing and i've been picking at each jars and experiencing the aging process in each stage. I can say by the end of the first month of curing, the bud really matures into a great tasting bud. The flavor profile changed again into a lovely sweet and fruit candy smoke in a joint and blunt. I might have to see how it really tastes after a couple weeks or so in a vaporizer, but we'll see. Each jar is around halfway lol but there's still enough to last until the beginning of winter or end of fall at most and it'll keep getting better for sure. I'm also consuming more of other strains and just local brands just to ease off the jars but if I want a mellow high and tasty smoke, they are my go to!)
