Yep but they're currently bringing new tech out every day with that. Fluros have been replaced with LEDs but they price is through the roof. A lot of shops are selling the old fluros pretty cheap. I got mine half price which is why I thought I'd try it out. Don't use a reptile ballast. they're useless af for the garden as they designed to spread the light on a small space. Check out how I've got them hanging on my grow. I hate it lol and it's a dodgy half assed effort at adding UV. But if you just have a couple of plants it'd be fine. I'm looking into ordering UV LED Diodes and making my own UV bar but that's more of a side hobby.

My last 3 diaries don't have smiley faces, thus I cant enter any contests. Does anyone know why? I keep them up to date each week faithfully. I tried contacting GDs team and I get no response.

@oldtimer6455 you need to satisfy certain criteria to gain the smiley face such as atleast 4 images will give you a smiley then the conditions such as day temp night temp humidity etc etc a comment from you about how the week was will give another and what nutrients you used

Can you get a better aroma if you store your dried and cured weed in a dark air tight container in the refrigerator at 42-45 degrees? I need to get store long term..

Hi @oldtimer6455 Curing entails some natural biological processes at the cellular level in the bud itself as it is drying out, as well as some foreign microbial activity, that does indeed further break down the chlorophyll and sugars or other nutrients in the plant’s cell walls. And so making it too cold will slow cellular function of both the cannabis and the microbes, as well as any other chemical reactions, as well as causing the bud to possibly dry too quickly when the jar or container is “burped”. Ideal temperature is around 65-70*F with about 60%-65% humidity. Any colder or dryer and all the biological and chemical reactions and functions will be greatly slowed as well as potential cellular damage. However, for storage after a proper cure, low temps will help prevent THC from degrading, and proper humidity can be maintained with cigar humidity devices or “gel” packs. And so storage post cure is not necessarily a bad idea in a fridge, but I wouldn’t necessarily put the stash I use regularly in there. Removing from the cold dry fridge, to a warmer more humid area and exposing it to condensation and then back and forth temp changes will also potentially degrade your herb, and/or introduce the conditions for mold.I had a friend that stores his seeds and weed in the fridge, but he broke it down into smaller containers, and same with the seeds, each one in its own little individual air tight container. Good luck mate 👍

FYI, some strains store better than others. Aroma is from strain, and curing does not increase aroma, in fact IMO, the aroma morphs a little, by the time your minimal 30 days is up. I cure in a dark, cool (65F), dry place, so I'm thinking this is optimal to avoid heat/humidity. I would store in this env long term. I have smoked frozen stored bud, and I think it loses something being frozen.

You will not get a better aroma, I have a friend who is doing it but in the freezer and it is not increasing the flavors , in the best conditions possible you'll get the same flavor at the end and even a slightly altered aroma. In the fridge you need to have a 100% air proof container or you'll get humidity inside and this is alterating the taste and aroma. A good curing can allow you to store a jar during 2 years without alteration of the taste

@Germano, smoke is dandy!! needs to cure. congradulations on winning contests! I was really let down cause I kept giving it my all and that valentines contest just killed it for me when the guy won 3rd place for arranging buds in the shape of a heart, there were so many others far more creative and it just seemed like they picked someone randomly..I mean arranging bud in the shape of a heart? It was so lame..and I have also had confrontations with a grower who deemed himelf king cannabis of all knowledge and I didn't agree with him so he threw a fit..anyway this Is my last grow.I have several pound in my fridge so Im good for a few years

I did everything that all of you advised me to and still no smiley face! I spend each week taking photos and detailing the growth. I sent several messages to support 1 week ago asking what I am lacking and got no reply!!!😥
