Day 57 plants are still stretching up 3 weeks since 12/12. Plants are 2.5x their size at start of 12/12.
Day 59 impeller inside the hydrofarm pump exploded. Fucking pump lasted 2 months, thankfully I had a spare impeller laying around. Going to be emailing hydrofarm. My plants went with out water for upto 24 hours. Pots fabric was dry but I think the perlite retained enough moisture. Roots have grown out of the bottom of my fabric pots and running down the channels almost nft like.
These bitches are still stretching like someone is throwing out free shit to a crowd.
Res change new readings ph 6.1 ec 2.24
Day 61 ph 6.4 ec 2.13 temp 74F. Added 8 ml ph down to 6.1. Hydrofarm responded the the customer service request with in 24hrs and sending a replacement impeller at no cost, excellent customer service. Having a heatwave temps in the mid 90s outside. I have a portable ac unit in the garage but I am able to keep it at 80F in the tent lights on, not ideal but it could be a lot worse. I can't believe these girls are still stretching up. Looks like I'll be rebuilding my platform sooner than I would like.
@Med_in_Tropic, organic ph adjusting works well with soil, unfortunately from my experience with hydro, it's not as stable. It was shocking seeing GHE ph down per ML is more expensive than my base nutrients. Thanks for sharing 👍👊. Being able to meet and use local stuff is amazing. I finally got invited into a local circle of long time local growers (most have grown 10+ years).
Hi @Ga4rd2en0er, I am treating pH as an indicator not the underlying cause. Don't kill me. With my soil, I think not enough N and P will have too high pH.
To lower pH during Cal Mag addition, I addeed wood vinegar (pyroligneous acid). And around where I live, wood vinegar price is is reasonable and are made by farmer co-op's.
I have this thing. I try to buy from farmers and coop's. And this can unneccessarily complicate things for people.
@Med_in_Tropic, it's rather interesting to see where the greatest expense comes from and for me its ph down. Now I am searching for a better alternative. Thinking growmore ph down 30%
