The effect of purple punch is sedating, in every way. It relaxes mind and body, still it’s kind of foggy in your mind.
What disappointed me a lot was the yield.

Welcome to my harvest report on the purple punch from barneys farm!
This is the last outdoor report I’m writing this year.
GROW:
She grew short and stocky, just as barneys farm described her. Short internodes made me think she would yield a shitload of tight indica buds, didn’t came so! Still she’s easy to grow in vegetation, doesn’t need much fertiliser...
HARVEST:
The harvest was a tragedy, as there were only small tini-tiny buds with huge calyxes but not a real mass. And i can definitely say that this is not my fault. As I’ve grown this genetic last year quite late in summer, I thought that I just planted her too late. But this year she received full sun, an amazing summer and a shitload of nutrients; still the buds and the harvest was super small. I had the same phenotype as last year; purple in the beginning of flowering turning into something kinda brown when dried and close to nothing purple anymore. So I think that this phenotype is just not able to produce big buds, as my other plants were ALL thriving and building the biggest buds I’ve ever grown outdoors. That’s why I’m kinda dissatisfied with this strain and I’m not going to grow it again.
EFFECT: 8.5/10
The effect is perfect for indica-lovers. Strong sedating effect, with a potent couchlock as well. Not my kind of effect but friends and family like it, so I take the rating they say.
SMELL: 6/10
The smell is weird.
Nothing like a cake with glazed cranberry’s, wtf barneys?😅 it’s more like a spicy oak.
BAG APPEAL: 0/10
It’s been a long time I’ve included this categories, and I think it’s all due to my phenotype, as for example @wachsemilians buds look super tasty!
But my ones are one of the ugliest buds I’ve grown so far😅
So to put it in a nutshell, this strain is great for people with insomnia, although I need to add here, that Bruce banner #3 from OSS worked better for my uncle with insomnia, so also at this category, purple punch is played out.
I hope you enjoyed my outdoor grow this year, not only with tangerine dream and purple punch but also with my Dr. Grinspoon which went super good this year or my Bruce banner which produced the biggest buds I’ve grown outdoors so far!
See you in my other diaries!
Stay high, and most importantly; healthy❤️
Hi there! I found some strange brown spots on my tangerine dream, which are spreading. It looked like a burn, but the ,,burnt“ patches are not crunchy! Do you guys know what it could be?
Hey there, that looks like a "random" pH fluctuation , as i can see from the splotchiness of the spots and the burnt tips which is a sign of some kind of metal absorption problem probably due to a watering raising the pH temporarily . But if the leafs arent really drying out like if it was affected by nutrients maybe they're "variegated" leafs , but i've never seen it go like that . Hope this helps ! 🚀
@FR_PhenoFinder,
Yes, sadly my one doesn’t build up any branches, so I’m not photographing her every week, but tangerine dream is a must-have in my opinion!
@TheDoctor, ph being high or low can never be told through leaf conditions mate. But when you have such deficiencies in a perfectly green plant ; it means ph is out of range. Set it in range of 6.2 to 6.5 and you should see the difference in coming days. The only way to determine your soil ph ;is by making a soil slurry of 50/50 soil and pure ro 0 tds water and filtering(removing soil) this water and testing its ph. Better to just adjust the next nutrient feeding to 6.3. Also there are this soil ph and humidity testers ;though have never used it ; so have no idea. Hope that adjusting ph and providing those 3 micronutrients shall help you plant.
