Day 1 -Put seeds directly into a cup of distilled room temp water for 14-18 hours. I went for the full 18. They should drop to the bottom after a few hours. If not gently push them until they drop.
Day 2 -Place a layer of paper towel on a plate. Pour out your water and seeds on the plate and drain off excess water. Now fold the paper towel over and cover the seeds. Place them in a warm dark place for up to 3-7 days(depends on seeds) Keeps the paper towel saturated, checking on the seeds occasionally. Keep it humid and the temperature around 23*C. When the tap root starts to show about a 1/2 inch it’s time to move them to soil.
Day 3 -Woke up this morning and after about 24 hours in the paper towel, the seeds have already started to grow their tap roots on 4-5 of them. I’ll continue to leave them in there until the root is 1/2 inch
Day 3 -End of the day I checked on the seeds and they are ready to go into the soil.
Day 3 -Seeds are now planted about an inch deep and lightly covered. Add water.
Day 4 -Checked on them this morning and 3 have already come out of the soil. So I sprayed them with a little water and turned on the CFL light and my small fan. I will be doing 18/6, 18 hours lights on. 6 hours lights off
Starting off week two. The reason I only have 3 plants left and moved so quickly into the grow tent from the box is because I made a rookie mistake and didn’t secure my light. It fell and landed on 2 seedlings and by the time I saw it. They had already died. But the good news is the other three look strong so far.
Starting off week 3 they are looking very healthy but starting to out grow the solo cups I had them in from seed. I waited until day 16 when the soil was fairly dry to transfer the plants over.
I lightly squeezed all around the cup, then put my fingers around the stem flipped the cup upside down and patted the bottom until the entire plant fell out then I already had my holes pre dug in the new container so I could quickly place them in there to minimize shock. Once they were all in I gave them all a good ph balanced watering. No nutrients yet
Day 21- watered with 6tsp of Big Bloom in 2 gallons of water
Everything seems to be going good so far
I topped all three on day 26 and did some LST on them as well. I’ve started adding nutrients every other watering. Watering about twice a week. Right now I’m using fox farms Grow Big and Big Bloom
Starting off week 6. They are just over a foot tall. Going to continue veg for another couple weeks. Feeding nutrients every other watering.
Did some LST to them this week also
First week of flower. I will be slowly changing the light schedule to 12/12. I’m changing by 1 hour a day until I hit 12/12. I’m told it will better mimic the sun. I also trimmed all the lower growth to maximize the growth up top.
Lots of buds forming now. All vegetative growth has stopped. Some of the bottom leaves are starting to yellow and fall off. Normal for this time of the grow.
Impressive grow 👍 those colas and looking super. I'm just a week or two in-front with the same strain :)
Are you really feeding at EC of 4 ?? I don't think I've ever seen an EC that high 👀
@VnlaThndr, don't look at the sugar leaves. Only look at the buds. Best to pick just few buds and start looking at the trichomes daily to get familiar with how they change. A 20-60x magnification is what you need. It's often tricky to see the difference between clear and cloudy. I often find that if I look at them early enough (as in your case) you clearly see the clear trichomes and at some point they become cloudy/hazy... once I see (say 10%) amber trichomes I flush for 4 days then harvest (growing in coco). The more amber trichomes the more of a couch-lock feeling you'll end up with - though that's just a general rule. Don't worry too much, just don't harvest early. It always takes longer than we want :) specially by the end of a long grow 😎 Best of luck - it will be awesome any which way.
@HazeyBobby, hey thanks for the comment. This is my first grow so I haven’t been monitoring the EC levels. I didn’t think I even put a number in there lol this is also Bubba Kush. I just couldn’t find my strain in the list. I’m hoping I’m ready for harvest in the next week or so. I’m just having the trouble with picking the right time to harvest. I have a jewellers loupe but I’m still unsure where exactly to look to know if it’s done. The sugar leaves trichomes are turning amber but the buds are still clear and cloudy.
