The first week of my first grow. Damn, what should I say. I was quite hesitant to start growing for my own supply, but since the lockdown I thought F*** it! :) I tried germinating some fem. purple punch and gorilla glue auto's. The auto's all failed to germinate, so I won't be growing those. Since this is my first grow, I've searched the internet alot. I have watered the plants and that's about it.

This week I started adding nutrients to the mix. I also started some LST and topped the plants. Seeds germinated the 27th of March, the 12th of April I topped.

I did some defoliation because I thought that the lower branches didn't get enough light and there was no air movement. The plants are pretty small in height, 11 - 15 cm's to be exact (Plant 1 is the largest, plant 3 is the smallest). Plant 2 tipped over in week two, so I added a fan and put a stick next to the main stem. Since then it's no longer the problem child but actually one of the largest. My grow closet is not so big (in height) so I will have to decide soon on when to go into flowering. I'm quite hestitant because it feels much to fast to start flowering in week 5 or 6, but I think I'm going to run into problems otherwise. I am thinking to repot them next week to their final containers. But because I just defoliated them on the 15th, I might wait a little more. This week I only watered with pure water because I lost so much of my nutrition because I did something stupid. It said to dilude the nutrients with water. So I grabbed a 10L bucket, put the necessary nutrients in, but I'm too scared too keep using it because it really started to smell bad after two weeks. I've used about 5L of water with added nutrients, all the other waterings were pure demineralised water. Also, this week my babies started to smell real hefty! :) :) :)

This week was very busy for me, so I only had time to transplant my plants to bigger pots on day 31. I wish I was able to do it sooner, but alas. Anyway, they are looking really nice in my opinion and the smell is very pungent and strong. I would like to defoliate them some more, but I'm quite hesitant because I'm not really sure how much I should take off and which ones. I might do some more research on that this week. In the following week I will be flipping them to flowering because of my height-issue and probably find a way to fix a scrog-trellis of some kind in there.

After the repotting at the end of week 4, I watered my plants for a couple of days only using water (day 31 - 34). On day 34 I added some small LST cords, and watered. On day 35 I switched my lighting schedule from veg. to flowering, and watered. On day 36 I watered with nutrients. On day 37 I watered. On day 38 I defoliated and watered with nutrients. (The amount of nutrition used this week is combined at the top for the 3 plants.) During defoliation, I cut the inside looking leaves, and the big overhanging sugar leaves. Here and there I also cut some new growth on the inside of the canopy because it wasn't getting enough light. I noticed a very small amount of leaves which was yellowing on the bottom of the plant and cut them aswell. These we're from when the plant was just growing. All in all, things are looking good. Still searching for a solution for the trellis, because the things I came up with weren't cutting it. Probably going to fix one from PVC-piping. See ya!

This week I tried solving the problem with my height. But because all the stores were closed, I used some duct-tape to attach a rigid net above the plant. Besides that I defoliated all 3 plants and also gave the plants a topdressing with fertiliser at the end of the week. I had one plant which had droopy leaves for 1 day at the end of the week, but after watering her she rose back to normal. I think I might've forgotten to water her a day. From time to time i retuck the leaves and branches underneath the net, because now they're still pliable, I fear that some will become more rigid soon and I won't be able to tuck them under enough. See ya! 👽 Stay green!

What the hell happened? My plants skyrocketed through the trellis as if it was nothing. I kept retucking the branches and leaves underneath, but eventually the branches became rigid and I just let the plant do it's thing. 😇 On the last day of this week I also defoliated my plants some more. I even cut some branches which were still beneath the trellis, as I didn't think they'd get enough light. Next grow I'll be customising my closet further, because now I've found some things that I would like to change because they would make reaching my back plants easier. My plants also started to drink alot more, they now like 0.5L a day. The smell has gone down a bit though, but it could also be because the closet stays closed more now (because the temperature is lower outside) than before.

I might have a silly question, but here goes: I've found some lights I have left in my garage, and since I would like to upgrade my setup, I would like to know if these lights could function as grow lights. The light=> Osram Highbay HQL LED E40 140W Thanks!👽

I did some research on your hql led..the only 140w I found was the 140w e40 840..these last 2 digits refer to the the light spectrum so this would be a 4000k (cool white)so it’s could be useful in veg In flower you want a 865 6500k (warm white) but I can’t find anything on ppfs and I’m not so familiar with led..

Hello buddy you should lower your dose of fertilizer and take advantage of your transplant to water once or twice with clear water ph6. 1 this will allow you to not saturate your roots and correct your deficiency 👍 Good luck for your grow 🤞🌱

@Master_weeda, I followed your advice on only clear water after the transplant (except the first time after the transplant, because then I did use water with nutrients). Thanks for the kind words, and I wish you and your grows also alot of good luck! 👌

Looking very good bro! It's best to try and mix nutes as you need it, unless you have a automated system with a reservoir. I've found mixing a large amount in veg wastes so much, so it's best to break it down. If the label says 10L....divide it by 10 to get your litre amount - i.e if it says add 10ml to 10L then you know to add 1ml of nutes to your 1L of water.... but lot of the time the manufacturers dosage is too much so I'd be care to not overdue it and stunt or lock out your plant. Best to get a ppm meter to check. Also best to give them a week or so to settle into their new pots before flip. if you can scrog them after potting up that would save you some height! Looking good so far 👍

@Tikihoofd, I started growing less than 6 months ago and have learnt so much. Zip ties are a growers best friend ;) you can use them to attach your net and start tucking under as they grow through. Update looks good. You'll be buzzing once they start praying and packing on buds 😋 I got this strain to grow for the Spring Cup so i'll be keeping an eye! 😉

@YOREEL, thanks for the informative reply man! Much appreciated. I indeed started breaking down the water/nutes schedule to make sure I wasn't making too much which would then be thrown out. I just repotted them, and will follow your advice on waiting a couple of days to a week before flipping to flowering. Scrogging is something I've been thinking about, so I might aswel give it a try. Height will be my main issue when flipping, so anything that helps keeping them smaller is well appreciated. :) Maybe one stupid question; should I be continuing my LST now that I've repotted them, or wait out the week aswel before doing that. Thanks!!!!

They look really good 👍🏻 But try to raise your rh to a minimum of 60 in veg,a bowl or glas of water should help with that About the height issue, You can veg for longer times if you use a scrog and keep your genetics in mind Definitely with those pp Sativa genetics Closet height minus ligh space, light to plant space, pot height and plant height after veg= flower space I grow in a 90x90x160 tent and my largest cola ever is the size of my forearm but I use mostly Indica dominant strains indoors Good luck and keep up the good work 🤞✌️🌱

@Belgiums_basement_budz, I had a humidifier with them all the time at 45%. I've switched it out now, following your advice to save some space in the closet. About the size-issue; I'm quite afraid sometimes to defoliate too much of the leaves because the lower branches are not getting enough light through the fanleaves (they're about the size of my hand, if not larger). They're relatively small atm. But they will need alot more grow before I will put them over to blooming. By then I'm afraid that the foliage/canopy is so dense that the lower branches will have literally no light. That's why I'm trying to LST the plants right now, to use the most of the space I have in my small cabinet. Cheers!!

They are looking pretty fine 👍🏻💪🏻 And a trellis made from pvc is an easy build but don’t forget to fill the pipes with sand for extra weight if you gonna make a hanging trellis, otherwise those pretty ladies will lift the whole thing when they start to stretch. I hung my first trellis from the roofbars down and after a few day’s I had to tie to the floor 😅 Also I added chains on the corners so I can adjust height easily with 2 light hangers I can send you some pics of 1 i made a day’s back if you want Happy growing and stay safe ✌️🌱

@Tikihoofd,there’s noting wrong with a good defoliation,I use that technique 2 on my photo strains but I’m not as agressif with it like you😅..i’m Only take 1/3 at the time..first round is a bit agressif tho if I’m working with a scrog😅 I completely remove the lowest part of leafs and smal growth. 2 weeks later I remove the biggest leafs of the mid section and after 2-3 weeks of flowering(when the strech is finished)the remaining top section Just my way of doing it..not even sure if that is a good way of doing it but it works for me 😅 They sure look like they don’t mind..Leafs standing nicely upwards 💪🏻 Happy growing and stay safe ✌️🌱

@Belgiums_basement_budz, The lower ones didn't get alot of light, so that's why I chose to do it. Also to induce some more stress so they build more trichomes and so they can use more of their nutrition for the top buds. Let's hope it was worth it! Checked on them today, and they've been growing steadily again, so I don't think they had a hard time recovering.

@Tikihoofd, hey better a cheap fix then no fix,and it did the job so is was a good cheap fix 😂 yeah they look really good 👍🏻 May a bit agressif on the leafstrip but I’ve seen other growers doing it with out problems so why not Curious about how they gonna react to it
