Hello and thank you for visiting my little grow.
This is my 2nd grow, My 1st is almost ready to come down and not a complete success. If I could change anything it would be to start a diary. Being a complete novice I made numerous mistakes and just wished I had someone to point me in the right direction so if you are reading this and feel you can offer any valuable input then please do it will be appreciated... 👊🏻
Clone taken on the 15th Nov. Dipped in Clonex and placed in a routing block, in a humidity dome for 3 weeks then in a 2 gallon air pruning pot for 3 weeks until today where she was transferred to her final home a 5 gallon fabric pot.
Currently in a Lighthouse Clone tent 0.7 x 0.9 x 0.5 using LUMii EnviroGro's T5 2x 2ft Lamps are 24w each (6500k) and a Ram eco fan for circulation. Space heater occasionally if slightly higher temp required.
The clone was taken late, 3 weeks into flower (one of my many 1st grow mistakes) this gave me a weird looking thing with deformed new growth which I tied down straight away as I want to end up with a low flat canopy to use a scrog net.
Genetics - free seed given to me by a mate 👊🏻
Planted mother from seed as I killed 🙈 a Northern Lights feminised seed I bought 2 of and didn’t want wasted space. I knew nothing about the strain and was not expecting much, my focus was on the remaining Northern Lights. Out of the 2, Golden Cobra is frosty as #%^*
2 weeks and she will be moved to the 2.5 x 2 x 5.11 gorilla tent with a Platinum P300 led, 4” carbon filter and fan ( rhino fan died after 3months, replaced with different brand.) open vent for intake (no fan as I was told it wouldn’t be needed but i’m not sure?), 2 clip on fans for circulation and a small demudifier (pointless, not big enough and I don’t have the cash or space for a larger 1, hopefully I won’t regret it)
Thanks for stopping by, any comments / advise welcome 👊🏻
Not a lot has happened in the last 2 weeks, she has been topped, trained and pinned down to spread out across the pot and I moved her under the 300w led yesterday and unpinned her to let her grow towards the light for a week.
Determined not to make the same mistakes as my 1st grow where I think I over fed from day 1, I have let her dry out completely and I will feed her today slowly. I intend on giving her 500ml mixed with 2.5ml p/l old timer grow 5-3-3 and 2.5ml p/l old timers root stimulant every half an hour. I expect the 5 gallon pot will take 5 litres and I shouldn’t need to feed again for 6 or 7 days when completely dry again.
There seems to be a bit of weird new growth which I had in the beginning due to taking the clones during flowering I’m not sure if this is a deficiency?
Small update.. stopped feeding after 2 litres, soil appeared soaked through.
Waited 3 days then fed her 2 litres of plain water 2 days ago and dropped the net last night. I will give her another 2litres tomorrow with 2.5ml p/l old timer grow 5-3-3 and 2.5ml p/l old timers root stimulant
I have continued with the same feeding schedule throughout, feeding plain water every other feed and no nutrient issues whatsoever :)
She looks to be filling out nicely, I was thinking 1 more week before switching to 12/12. What do you think?
I have raised the net to 10” and gave her a final defoliation before I let her go.
I am feeding her half a litre of plain water and then 2 litres with 4.4 ml old timers bloom, 2 ml advanced nutrients big bud, 2 ml advanced nutrients b-52 and 0.6ml of buddas tree pk 9-18 (aim to use 2/3 nutrients as I am only using 300w led). When she has almost dried out in 3 days I’ll feed the same again and plain water on the 3rd feed.
She was still quite dry after feeding her the usual half a litre of plain water and 2 litres mixed with nutes so I gave her another 2 litres and she seemed to loved it
I had her out at the weekend so I had a good look at her and rearranged to allow more light. Only plain water now
I have been battling with temp and humidity in the last week, regretting not having an air intake fan but I’ve managed to keep under 27c and 60% and usually closer to 25c and 45%
Continued to feed plain water this morning, giving her 4 litres every 3 days. Getting a couple of lower leaves yellowing and falling off but otherwise looks good. Each bud is a little over 10cm so not huge but solid and hopefully she’ll fill out some more this week.
Lots of yellowing leaves, hoping she will start getting fat this week. I’m in no rush to take her down but I would have thought she’ll be ready this week or next!
I was hoping to leave her another week but family visiting so I’ve switched the lights off for 3days. I’ve read conflicting reports if it’s advisable or beneficial to turn lights back on for another week after a 3 day dark period? I’ll just see what she looks like on Sunday
I had her in the dark for 3 days due to family visit, with just the fan and carbon filter no noise :). I don’t believe it gave any benefit to the plant though.
Switched her back on this week and I’ve taken the smaller branches off to dry and give the larger buds more room so hopefully will fatten up before the final chop next week.
