I’m into week 3 of flower right now. Way to lazy to go over week by week but I got pics for ya :) at this point I’m a major rookie and I’m still piecing together the grow area/YouTubing like a crazy person

Still a crazy rookie at this point. Temp/humidity/ec/and watering still a foreign language to me. Was told to water sparingly so the roots can search/grow to the water. All I was doing was ph balancing, felt like a mad scientist, little did I know....

As you can see I’m still a huge moron. Bloom light on in some of the pics and overwatering issues. Who knew a plant droops when overwatered, live and learn I guess. Getting the hang of it at the end of this week. You can tell by the perky ni......leaves.

Really started to get my confidence this week. Decided to top for the first time. I might of been a little sleep deprived and acted without really thinking. Didn’t see the strong muscle stems after topping, which concerned me, but by weeks end you can see obvious recovery in sweet D

Successful topping and still amazing and learning how she grows at this stage of the grow. If you notice I started Low stress training. One thing I’ve learned about myself during this is I’m not as steady handed as I thought. Every time I put that little bread tie around the stem it took me forever and I felt like I was harassing this sweet lady so I gave up. If you too correctly and thoughtfully no need for that noise.

Here’s where the fun starts. Covid-19. I have a 6 month old kid, single father. It’s a lot of work. My mom was told to work from home. Or knowing what was going on I decided to be overly cautious and bunker down at her place. This meant my son, my daughter, and me :). Oh and my led light broke during the move. Still a mystery so was using this lame desk light while I figured out if amazon was gonna even deliver me a new one. Oh ya, more toppping....

At this point I’m wondering why did I choose this seed and what made me think it was good for beginners. Must of been at an elevated view when purchasing. I’m scrambling to find solid light in the beginning of the week. Mother had a light in the garage that I quickly made use of for the time being. Had a sticker that said 4000k on it but me being the huge rookie didn’t think I should take into account light distance. Here comes the stretch for the light. Sometime in the week I got a replacement light. Same thing as before, 1200 watts with a cob in the center.

Forgot to mention I started flowering at the end of the last week. April 1st was the date. Flowering is all new to me so lots of pics just waiting to see changes. It was a bit of adjusting temp and humidity with the increase in light intensity. I gradually went up 5-8 on the bloom a day until I reached max lighting. Was told to brace for a 200-300% Growth in first month so let the fun begin. Oh ya, attempted SoG, the net was too big or I’m not smart enough, either way, topping is the only training I’ve liked and succeeded at at this point.

Ok...so now we’re all caught up. This is an up to date posting. The stretch is happening. No odor as of yet. Lovely hairs, branches getting thicker. Stepped up my game and got a temp and humidity controller. 5 degree drop at night but other than that steady atmosphere. A buddy told me to defoliate in week 2 of flower so that’s what I did! Just a warning if you’ve never done it and plan on it. It’s like shaving, you’ll never get it just right and the more you do the more you keep going and end up shaving it all for a fresh canvas. Know when to stop. But that’s uneducated advice because I’ll be seeing over the next few days the results from said defoliating. PS I had to scroll up for the spelling/pronunciation of that damn work every time I typed it. I cut a bunch of fan leaves off to get light down below. Also, my humidity increases easier and no more mold concern on those bushy underpants. See what I did there? Stay tuned if I remember to keep up with this. Don’t worry I’ll get to it eventually, as you can see, I kinda take a lot of pics. Next grow(white widow, already started) I’m gonna need a time lapse. Be safe out there and hope you enjoyed my first journal. I encourage all criticism or comments. ✊🤜👐✌️

These are end of week 4. Noticing some of hairs turning orange. Still just maintaining atmosphere and steady watering.

Pretty much on auto pilot. Last week I flushed her out and this week I gave her normal nutrients with a half dose of beastie blooms. Also took my first attempt of monster cropping. It was a low hanging bud so I figure why not.

Usually a Indic guy but diggin this Sativa feeling. Got a good taste but that could be due to freshness? I’ve never know. How fresh my bud was so it’s a new taste for sure. Forgot to check the color of my ash cause I’ve never done or even thought of doing that lol will try remember next time. I’ll edit week to give weights when they finish drying.

Input on bud that hasn’t been flushed? Noticeable? Also any curing tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

any toxicities or maltreatment? not likely and noticeable differences. Labs have tested for mineral concentrations of flushed and non-flushed harvests and there is no statistically significant difference. from my own experience, i can tell you my ash is as white as any i see.. and might not even be related, lol... have to double check that one. as far as drying and curing.. slow and cooler (low-to-mid 60s F) with humidity at roughly 55% to prevent molds and other growth and keep it dark. The plant is still alive initially and you don't want photosynthesis taking place. You get above 60% humidity and it is more of a risk.. can happen to any, of course. i like at least 5-7 days before stems snap before i cure. if it dries in 2-3 days it might impact taste later on. i use jars, but you really shouldn't use something airtight. it only promotes anaerobic bacterial growth which is not what you want. Some boxes lined with parchment paper that you can close and open to regulate humidity is the better way to go -- anything like that... a humidor-like environment is the goal. it can breath, maintains some level of moisture that prevents decrapitation of your buds over time. fwiw, i don't have a dehum/hum / ac/ heater etc... in winter i have to try to slow the drying down, and in summer i have to try to speed it up... i would have better tasting buds if i did have the proper equipment controlling environmental variables. I often have temps in the 70's when drying even in the basement with the house AC on. Even so, within 14-30 days my buds taste really good. my hash taste amazing, lol... even when i don't like the taste of the buds themselves as much. So, try to do the biggies -- slower dry.. maintain humidity through cure. Length of cure.. i'd go based on taste tests as it will be different for different densities and a multitude of different variables. if you keep clones, take not of how long before taste becomes full and prevalent. Ed rosenthal really has some good notes on this. check out his blog. Simplify what you decide to do to your needs and interests.
the end.
