Transferred germinated seeds to DWC tub. First mistake was not properly treating the water I soaked my rockwool in and the pH is a little high. Hoping that continues to come down as they get bigger and I pour some treated water on top when I add water to the container. They took five days to germinate, one germinated a day sooner than the other.
Nervous as anything now that they are in the cabinet!
Checked water pH in res and ph was over 7. Added nutrients and then treated with pH down until Water was 5.24 or so. Moved light up a bit as leaves were looking slightly yellow on seedlings. Cabinet is still running a bit warm, contacted maker to see if I needed to do anything and they said it was fine and to just follow instructions that came with unit. If it continues to have heat issues I will research cooling options.
Roots of plants are white and healthy. Will do full res waterchange at next nutrient addition.
Switched out light timer for a WiFi programmable. Still running 18 on and 6 off with my mars hydro 300 led.
Had some nutrient burn after the first feeding last week and did a water change to dilute it out. Decided to do a bit weaker than last week and see how they took it.
Started doing daily pH checks. Noticed the pH creeping up and am adjusting daily now.
Did a full reservoir water change and wiped it down. Roots seem white and healthy, front plant has considerably stronger roots than back plant. Hoping the back one catches up.
First day having a noticeable smell when near the plants.
Full res change done. Noticing some algae on the tops of the roots, I’m assuming light is getting through the clay pellets. I fashioned some collars out of felt to prevent light leaks into the res. Hoping the roots clean up over this week now that the light is blocked.
Added Hydroguard to my res last week and noticed a big difference. The roots really like it and aside from the annoying algae problem I didn’t have any slime or gunky buildup when I cleaned my res tub out.
I did my first topping per the nebula manifold instructions on my bigger plant and began low stress training. Smaller plant is beginning to put out more roots and is catching up in growth. I rotated the plants in the cabinet to see if that helps the smaller one catch up some.
Still going light on the nutrients - will see how they like this new line and add some more if it holds up well. Trying to prevent anymore nutrient burn but I think they are starting to get hungry.
Having to add 1-2 to 1 gallon in mid week so they are drinking nicely.
Monitoring the pH daily hasn’t been too bad. I’m hoping the new nutrients stabilize the pH a little better so there aren’t big shifts each day that I have to adjust.
I haven’t killed them yet so I’m calling this week a success.
Switching to Advanced Nutrients pH perfect line has really helped stabilize the pH. I still check mornings and evenings but overall I haven’t hadn’t to do as many pH down changes to fix levels.
The new growth is looking healthy now that I’ve got that stable.
Waiting for a few more nodes before I top again. Not sure if I’ll top a third time or not.
I’m thrilled at all the new growth and started some LST for my manifold.
A lot of growth from last week to this week. Hardly any pH issues now and I rarely have to adjust with pH down. I still check at least once daily.
Panicked last week after feeding when I saw how brown the roots were but it seemed to only be from the brown micro solution. Plants were fine.
Moved my light up some after noticing a teeny bit of light burn. Plants are finally stretching up.
Snapped my airstone in two when cleaning and changing the res tonight so I’ll have to pick up a new bar tomorrow. Will keep a spare on hand from now on.
Hoping I’ll be able to flip in 10-14 Days.
Switched to flowering light schedule about six days ago. Did some defoliation right before switch and at res change last night.
She’s definitely doing her flowering stretch now getting nice and tall. Have had to move lights up a few times now.
Growth spurt week. Hairs are sprouting and I’m having to defoliate a little bit each day. Still having great luck with the Advanced Nutrients line managing my pH.
I was a little worried I flipped too early but now seeing how much they stretched (more than I thought after doing some reading online for this strain) I’m glad I did it “early”. My first happy accident this grow.
Estimating a harvest somewhere around 4/20 which seems almost poetic for my first grow.
Just rolling along now. Did a few defoliations last week and will continue to remove any big fan leaves blocking light to a cola as I see them pop up.
Ordered some Flower Fuel powder to try that and see how they like it. Roots look really nice and I freed my airstone again from them before putting the fresh water in.
Now we wait.
Things are going pretty well. Running out of headroom so I may have to rig my light a bit higher before long. The buds are starting to fatten up and in seeing more trichromes each week.
The buds are fattening up this week and some hairs are turning orange on the bigger buds. I’m guessing I’ll have to harvest this one in stages looking at the bud development now.
The buds are beginning to smell very strongly. Some large ones are having difficulty standing up so I imagine I’ll have to secure them in the next few days.
Trichromes are clear and the sugar leaves are getting frostier and frostier each day. I’m estimating harvest first week of April so I’ll begin flushing next week.
Flushing begins tonight. They are doing pretty good, a teeny bit of nutrient burn on the tips but otherwise ok. Plant in the back has considerably larger buds than the front plant. They smell so sweet up close.
I’m guessing 10-14 days till harvest if they mature in 55 days total.
Im thinking tonight’s will be the final water change given how things are looking. Probably harvesting in 7-10 days. Trichs are looking cloudy but no amber yet and still to many white pistils showing for harvest.
The smell is pretty strong now. I installed a carbon filter and 6” inline fan to fix that since it was permeating the House. Within an hour the odor is completely gone. Bummer the cabinet doesn’t hide much but I understand why.
The plant up front has markedly smaller buds and colas than the plant in the back still.
I’m so ready to harvest and start planning my next grow. Thinking Pineapple Chunk?
Will dry over the next week and then begin the jar during. Will taste during the cure.
Easy to grow overall. I had some root rot issues off and on during the grow but I attribute that to it being my first time doing hydro and DWC.
One plant did much better and put on a lot more weight. I don’t know if I’d do manifold technique again but I’d definitely LST and scrog future plants I grow from this strain.
I don’t know what the dry weight will be - will update once it’s dried and jarred.
The photo version of this strain did nicely. It handled a newbie grower in a small space perfectly. I think with good lighting and more nutrients I’d have had a really good yield.
the auto version of this strain was one of my favorite crops so far
the higher cbd content -- afaik the photo has this as well -- is very very medical for something that is THC-prominent
gives it an amazing effect! SLAM that follow button. you're liable to have a pair of out of control trees on this one.
@Jaindoh, I might have to try some autos next! I got all photo seeds in my first order but autos might do well in my small compact space. I've heard great things about this strains medical properties. Really really crossing my fingers I have some cured by 4/20 so I can smoke some of my very own homegrown bud for the first time. 😏
@Zannabis7,she seems to bounce back super fast. I've been taking off very small tops and give her another week to branch out from there. Given how small my grow space is I don't think I'll need to do another one.
@Jaindoh, waited about 10 days before flipping and the canopy completely filled my cabinet up. Now she’s stretching for the Sky 🌌 excited to see signs of flower soon.
@BigDaddyK, yup! For sure. This morning all the green algae is gone and turning brown now. Hydroguard should help the roots absorb whatever dead stuff comes off of that. No more algae problems. Roots look whiter this morning too and plants are happy after their feeding.
Also for the heat... i ripped out the carbon filters and added a dryer duct flex to all 3 vents to control air. I aimed the two exhaust airways up and out from behind the box and the intake to the side and my temps stay at like 85 degrees.
Ph issues could be due to the hydroton. If it’s not stabilized at ph5.5 i an def raise your ph up to 7. Wash it rinse it wash rinse it and let it sit in ph4 water for a day or two. Fixed my ph problem and haven't had any issue keeping it at 5.9 without any ph up or down
