Week 4 - White Widow Auto All measurements per 1 liter of water Day 22: Wow start of the 4th week. I feel like week 3 just started! So I'm going to be leaving tomorrow morning but will have time to feed the girls but not update the diary. They'll miss a feeding on wednesday the 27th but I'll be back thursday so they'll only really miss one feeding. I think they'll be just fine considering they're in large 20L (5gallon) pots. -- I'm also going to start adding CaMg to every feeding. Since they are seperate and not a all in one CalMag concotion its important to note the dosage as the calcium is 15% pure and the Magnesium is only 7% pure so a 1 to 1 ratio will give 2 to 1. Now i like to keep that a bit more than that, atleast 4 to 1 ratio so as to make sure all the calcium bonds to the magnesium and the girls dont get magnesium poisoning. So you'll note that the mix of 0.25mL calcium @ 15% to a 0.1mL Magnesiusm @ 7% brings me to just about a 5 to 1 ratio. My tap water starts at EC 0.2 and contains no chlorine or chloride to begin with. I always mix this first and let this sit a few hours and a few stirs to give time for the Ca to bind to the Mg. This brings my water normally to 0.4 to 0.5 EC. From there i mix my nutrients. The order i do them is and has always been this even though i've listed them in different orders before. Rhizotonic 0.2mL / Canna A 0.2mL / Canna B 0.2mL / Cannazyme 0.2mL and then check PH which is normally bout 7.0 at this point and begin adding my PH down which during the vegatation phase is Nitric acid (as it breaks down to nitrogen which they need more of in veg phase). When i get to flower phase i'll be switching to Phosphoric acid (which breaks down to ...you guessed it phosphorus). So after everything is all mixed i'm left with an EC of 1.6 and a PH of 5.9 (sometimes the EC flucuates between 1.5 and 1.6 with the CaMg solution and the PH i try to let vary each feeding between 5.8 and 6.2). No defoliation or any more LST as i dont want to add any more stress to her than she's already gone through. I will however tuck any large fan leafs under any new cola growths as she gets bigger. Day 23: Quick update before i leave on my minitrip. I'll just be gone effectively tomorrow and back on thursday. Fed the girls CaMg to EC 0.5 then normal feed of Rhizo 2mL / Canna A 2mL / Canna B 2mL / Cannazyme 2mL to PH 5.9 EC 1.7. Hope the girls dont throw any wild parties while i'm away ๐Ÿ˜‚ Day 24: Was away on a trip. No feed. Day 25: They must of thrown a party while i was gone....they pretty much doubled in growth. From 15cm for the White widow, Critical Jack Herer, Gelato #33 to 30cm and from 20cm to 40cm for the Purple Punch! Being back I noticed that their roots were starting to come up below the aluminum foil so i've removed that permanently as its done its job of keeping any green algae at bay. They were probably thirsty with all the new growth so looking everywhere. I fed them the standard amount of CaMg and 2mL Rhizo / 2mL A / 2mL B / 2mL Cannazyme and PH to 5.8 and EC to 1.6. I also defoliated just a little bit under their skirt to take away any tiny growth near the soil and any small growth that wasnt going to get much light. Not too much as i really dont want to stress them. For the White Widow it was a leaf or two, as i'm really trying to take it easy on her. For tomorrow I plan on upping my A and B nutrients and backing off the rhizo a bit as they look hungry and ready! From all the growth it really does seem like they threw a party while i was gone! Day 26: I raised up the light even more. 80cm from the top of the tallest girl (Purple Punch) as I'm seeing more of the new growth tips getting a little light stress. I assume its because they grew so fast while I was gone and grew closer than the 60cm buffer zone that I was trying to maintain. I'll see how they respond to that. I've also upped their dose of nutrients and fed them twice today to get some good runoff. The solution is as follows: Starting water 0.2 EC to 0.5 EC with CaMg in a 5 to 1 ratio / 1.5mL Rhizo / 2.5mL A / 2.5mL B / 2.0mL Cannazyme to a PH of 6.0 and EC 1.9. Instead of their normal 1L per plant today they'll be getting 2L each. Tomorrow They'll go back to 1L each and one feeding as long as their runoff looks adequate (10-20%). I've also taken out the humidifier as it was hardly ever triggered anymore to turn on. Since all the new vegetative growth the RH seems to be in the 42-50% range by itself. I'll monitor the RH value closely going forward but seeing as they'll be in flower very soon it was my intention to keep this above 30% but below 50% to keep any bud rot away. Since i've taken it out it allows the ladies more room in the middle where the light is most intense so it should even out a little bit with the light being raised so high. Second feeding was the same measurements but a PH of 6.1 and EC 1.8. Will update with pictures tomorrow Day 27: Just started noticing they're beginning to flower! I'm really excited. To start week 5 I'll be adding Canna Boost to the mix. Today they've been fed twice (2L each plant) to make sure they are nice and happy. It's with the increased dose of A and B. The measurements were as followed: water CaMg from 0.2EC to 0.6EC / Rhizo 1.5mL / A 2.5mL / B 2.5mL / Cannazyme 2.0 mL to a final EC 1.9 / PH 6.0 and the second feed with the same measurements but final EC 1.8 / PH 6.1 Day 28: Last day of week 4. Today's feed is a bit different as I've added boost, lowered Rhizotonic and switched from Nitric Acid for my PH down to Phosphoric Acid as in flower they'll need less Nitrogen and more Phosphorus which is what each break down to respectively. It was interesting to note that it took way less phosphoric acid than it did nitric acid to bring the PH down from the regular 7 to the 6 range, this is due to the nitric acid being about 38% pure and the phosphoric acid being 80% or more on average. I fed them twice and an increase amount of boost (2.5mL per liter which i'll be dropping down to 2mL per liter tomorrow, i just wanted to get it soaked in the coco coir and hence i did two separate feedings so each plant got 2L of solution today. The values were as follows: Water starting at 0.2 EC raised to 0.5 with 1mL Ca and 0.4mL Mg / 1mL Rhizotonic / 2.5mL A / 2.5mL B / 2mL Cannazyme / 2.5mL Boost, those same proportions in both feeds. The first feed came out to EC 1.8 and PH 6.2 and the second feed EC 1.8 / PH 6.1. I dont plan on any more defoliation as after reading countless diaries on here i've come to the conclusion that it most likely hurts yields and probably should just be avoided altogether with auto's. I have been trying to tuck the larger fan leafs underneath the future cola sites however to try to get them as much light as possible. The humidity since i removed the humidifier is between 35-45%. I would prefer it to stay in the 40's but i think that 35% is sufficient and i wont be very fearful of budrot as they start blooming. Will update Week 5 with pictures to start the week tomorrow.

Hello. I'm not expert by all means but from my past 10 or so auto plants I've already grew i can give you some tips. Firstly I don't feed my plants at all for first 3-4 weeks, they just don't need it. Secondly its great you plant them straight in big pots, how I water young plants is half by "logic" and half of it is eyeballed. For 3 weeks just look at your seedling and imagine what you see over the soil surface, you roughly have twice as much roots underneath. That's why for first 7 days i water my plant twice a day with around 100ml water each time. From second week she's getting around 250-300ml once a day. In third week she's getting 500-750ml per watering and from 30th day i just add as much water to make my medium wet (in my case its 1500-2000ml every 24-36h) Im 10 days behind you on my seedstockers white widow. I'm looking forward comparing how our plants will compete =)

@Elek007,Right on, no worries. I'll follow your grow. I'm thinking about starting some other plants in a soil mix outside now that its nice weather wise. Would be cool to follow a successful soil grower.

@@@Lit_1,that make sense, I've always been soil guy and didn't know coco doesn't have nutrients to start with. My white widow is in new to me medium. It's called tropic batmix and is made out of 40% coco 60% peat and it have added bat poop. I wasnt planning on changing my growing routine but I will keep eye for any signs of under feeding. Thanks :)

@Elek007, Cool, thanks for the tips. Not feeding for 3 to 4 weeks would kill the plant in Coco coir as there arent any nutrients in it to begin with. You're growing in soil and that means theres already nutrients in it to begin with, so feeding is light to none at all. Also the amount of water is different since coco coir is a hydroponic medium and has to be saturated at all times, whereas in soil you want it to actually dry a little bit. Anyways thanks for stopping by and i look forward to checking your girls development out as well.

Plants look great! Just wondering how come your giving them so much water so early in the grow cycle

I agree with you ๐Ÿ’ฏ% @@Lit_1, in soil most of them are slightly amended and you can get away with only water, in COCO there is nothing, even though they do not need much, a bit CalMag is a must, I started prewashing my COCO with CalMag before I planted, that is before I went Soil and Organic, after 3 to 5 days as you said without a bit of nutrient's you can stall the growth, whatever you are doing my friend they look perfect :) Great Progress with your farmingโ—๐Ÿ’ฏ๐ŸŒฟ:thumbsup: ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ‘ Please Check Out My Diary's๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ‘

@Bushbaby808, Thank you sir. I'm trying, I made a big mistake with the white widow a few days ago, i really feel sick about it but she seems to be recovering fast. I did my homework but nothing can replace applying it and gaining practical experience. So you live you learn :)

@@Lit_1, Didn't know that, was aware they got given some good genes but its no huge surprise a lot of commercial seed markets that just repack or lazy crosses without any stability ... When a fastbuds seed pops its more of a lottery ticket than anything some are really fantastic but some arnt worth the time and shipping costs, i have limited time/ space and constraints on the number of plants I can run I don't often bother with risky seed choices (maybe 4 in a year) and then when I do get a winner I cant clone an auto so its just a flash in the stash before its gone again :/

@@Lit_1, More Bondage next time I guess, that's pretty interesting I always wanted to do some Barny's work partially for their T-shirt hahaha and a bit because they inherited a lot of Nevils genetics (didn't we all) but I might stick to their photo line I have found some seed firms still don't take autos very seriously (fastbuds springs to mind) and its more pot luck than pot plant ... I have had some really stable strains from Dutch Passion their auto critical orange punch or black berry kush are both fairly predictable favorites of mine

@Hemporio_Afghani, They're all lolipopped, completely bare by 2 ft or so. Next time I'll definitely be LST more now that i feel comfortable with it. Although in the Barney's PP it wouldnt of mattered much as there isnt a lot of room to grow outward and barney's genetics are just all over the place.

Dont buy a tent. For a few buck about 100 you can build your own from a little wood and a roll of that black and white plastic. You could literally build a tent any size you want. And the white reflects better than the stuff they have inside the tents. Looking good..Cheers

@@Lit_1, should have mentioned for the floor, they sell cheap pond liners at home depot. Took a couple of perspective pics this morning. Almost as big as a beer can now. Have a peek when you have some time. Have yourself a great day.

@GMSgrows, Yea it is! I got some major rains coming my way so thats why i'm harvesting the CJH now (this weekend after 1week flush). Hopeing the less crowded tent will keep the ladies safe due to increased airflow as well.

@stumay111, Thanks for the kind follow friend! Ya its a weird strain but she seems quite hardy and future leaves wont have that discoloration. She probably gets the least love and TLC in my tent being behind a 140cm monster and in a trellis net but she's doing great i think.
