Chance of a Lifetime Greenhouse Seeds Competition Wonder Pie 8th May 2020 When I first saw that Greenhouse seeds were running a Worldwide competition I was amazed because Australia does not normally get included in such things, especially involving Cannabis. But I knew straight away that this was the chance of a Lifetime for me so I applied straight away. When I got the email saying I was in I was over the moon with happiness. The Contest will see the winning Diary/Grower win a trip to Amsterdam for two with accommodation in the apartment above the famous Green House smokeshop. To be in the running I simply applied to grow one of their chosen strains with their own Nutrients (greenhouse feeding) I picked and was very luckily accepted to grow the "Wonder Pie" strain alongside the Greenhouse feeding Bio Feed Range. Here is a little bit of info on the "Wonder pie" strain courtesy of Seedfinder.eu Wonder Pie, sweet, fruity and petrol aroma It is a wonderful hybrid between two really powerful lineages, Wedding Cake Cannabis Strain (aka Triangle Mints: Triangle Kush x Animal Mints) and OG Kush (Chemdawg x [Lemon Thai x Hindu Kush, Pakistan)]. It produces tall plants with a vigorous and branchy development with flexible but strong branches. It develops an ideal structure for applying pruning and moulding methods such as topping, LST or Main Linning. It also offers good results when cultivated in SCROG. These optimisation techniques help both to control its size and structure and to maximise the harvest by enhancing bud production. Wonder Pie marijuana, with a balanced, euphoric and relaxing effect The harvest is ready after about 60-65 days with a yield of up to 550g per m2 cultivated in an indoor grow tent, and a yield of up to 800g per plant cultivated outdoors. It produces flowers completely covered with bright and aromatic resin, it is a good variety to perform Live Resin resin extractions and enjoy them greatly in a resin vaporiser. Wonder Pie offers a sweet and fruity aroma and flavour, with exotic gas touches that permeate the palate for a long-while and drive your taste buds crazy, particularly when inhaled using a cannabis vaporiser. It produces an intense effect of rapid appearance, combining a euphoric and psychedelic feeling with a pleasant body relaxation. It is ideal to consume it at any time of day. Green House Seed Wonder Pie info: Type: Feminised cannabis seed Genetics: Wedding Cake x OG Kush Indica Sativa hybrid Indoors flowering: 60-65 days Outdoors harvest: End of September Indoors yield: Up to 550g per m2 Outdoors yield: Up to 800g per plant For my Grow and entry I will be using soil with some added hydroton and perlite for extra drainage. All feeds will be from the Greenhouse feeding bio nutrients range, that came with the seeds for the purpose of this competition. To win this would be a dream come true as I have always wanted to travel to Amsterdam ever since watching Cheech n Chongs Movie Still Smokin back in the 1980's as a teenager. The first steps to starting my grow are preparing my grow area, which involves a thorough cleaning with bleach. Then I set up lights and fans etc and test it all to make sure everything is working. Then on the 4th of May I recieved the seeds in the mail and immediately began to soak four seeds in some tepid water overnight before transferring them into a moistened piece of paper towel then into a ziplock baggie for another 12 hours. From there all germinated seeds will go into the rockwool cubes for about a week before being moved into the final grow out pots. From there they will veg for 7-8 weeks before I flip to 12/12 and flower them accordinly. As of today (8th May 2020) I have 3 healthy seedlings from the four seeds I soaked. So now they are up it's officially Game On 🙏 I am still waiting for the Greenhouse Feeding to arrive but thats ok because I won't need it for about a week. I chose 12 Litre Fabric pots because of the height limitations in my Grow tent (need a bigger one but cant afford it at the moment ) as soon as the powdered feeding arrives I'll mix the required amounts straight into the pots so they are ready for when I transplant the seedlings into them. Before I go I'd like to thank Greenhouse seeds and Grow diaries for this Amazing oppurtunity Also I would like to wish Good luck and Good Growing to all other Entrants LET'S GROW....... Grey_Wolf

Chance of a Lifetime Greenhouse Seeds Wonder Pie Week two 15th May 2020 Welcome Back to my Wonder Pie Diary 😀 It's now seven days since they popped up and I have now moved them into the Fabric pots. The Greenhouse Feeding arrived in the mail yesterday which was just in time as I suspect these 3 little plants will be Hungry. I only added the Bio Grow @ half strength due to the size and age of my little girls. Therefore I added 16.5 Grams into each Pot and watered it in with with some "Enhancer" mixed with Rainwater @ a rate of 1g/L In aprox 3-4 weeks time I will add the other half of the required Bio Grow as a top dressing. Trying to keep the humidity above 50% has been a challenge but Ive found that by Misting inside the grow tent with a Spray bottle full of water and hanging an old wet rag in there does help maintain the RH and VPD I also have a Peppermint plant growing in the tent as Ive read that they make greak companion plants and can possibly help deter pests such as aphids etc I have it growing in it's own pot as any variety of Mint can be very invasive when grown with other plants. That is all I have to report this week , Thankyou all for taking the time to check out my update & I'll see you back here next week 👍

Chance of a Lifetime Greenhouse Seeds Wonder Pie 22nd May 2020 Week 3 Hi Everyone welcome back to my GHS competition grow 😀 It's now been 3 weeks since they germinated and they are looking ok to me. They all have slightly different characteristics about them such as leaf shape etc but are all roughly the same height. On Wednesday (two days ago) I gave them all the second half of their Bio grow powdered feed , which will now take them thru until Flowering begins. I also applied some diatomaceous earth to the soil surrounding each plant. This has two uses one being as a source of silica and the second being a bug/pest deterrent. Ive added a short little video clip of me mixing in the 2nd dose of bio feed. After I applied it I simply watered it in with aprox 500mls of Water per plant. That is all for this weeks update , Thankyou all for taking the time to Read it and I shall hopefully see all you back here in 7 days. Take care 👍👍

Chance of a Lifetime Greenhouse seeds Wonder Pie Week 4 29th May 2020 Welcome back to my Wonder pie grow. Everything seems to be going steadily ahead, and It looks I have three quite different looking plants growing. Plant #1 is a bit of an ugly duckling with her crumpled looking leaves, she even has a heart shaped leaf at the bottom 😁 Plant #2 looks healthy but "Flat" lol like she can't be bothered to lift those leaves up off the ground. And Plant #3 has a taller , more traditional appearence. On Tuesday the 26th I performed the first topping of the three girls. Plant's #1 & #2 were topped after the 5th node whilst plant #3 I topped @ the 5th node which basically means that instead of counting 5 nodes and then topping as I did with the first two I actually removed the 5th node on plant #3 It will be interesting to see any differences in recovery and new growth rates. On Thursday 28th I gave the girls another feed of the GHS Enhancer that came with the Powdered feeding for the Competion. It reccomends using the enhancer every two weeks , which is what I will do. Checked the Ph with my bluelab soil probe and they are all within the 6.4-7 range I aim for when using soil. Interestingly I never observed any mycelium growing on my soils surface as I saw others had when they started but I'm sure that is nothing to worry about. ** Today 29th May** I have noticed the new leaves are coming thru where I topped each plant they all look like they are very healthy and growing nicely . If I had to choose one as the best looking I would pick plant 3 as it seems to look the best to me. Plant 2 is very leafy and has extremely tight internodal spacing which is good 👍 And plant 1 is a straight up freak , it's got mutated leaves one of which looks like a heart shape 😳 never seen that before 😃 Other than the looks , this Wonder pie strain seems to be very happy growing in my soil with the Greenhouse Powdered bio feed and enhancer if they continue to develop at this rate I may be able to flip them to flower a little earlier than anticipated ( at 6 weeks rather than 8) Now a quick breakdown of my management this week Every second day they get 500-700mls of water each Except for thursday 28th when they had Greenhouse Feeding Bio Enhancer @ 1g / L I simply made up a 2L bottle of rainwater with 2 grams of enhancer mixed into it . ( shaken well) I then watered the entire bottle equally between the three plants . Well that's about it for this weeks update , Thankyou for taking the time to read it and I'll be back next week with another 👍👊

Chance of a Lifetime Greenhouse Seeds Wonder Pie Week five 5th June 2020 Welcome back to my Wonder pie Diary for the Greenhouse Seeds Win a trip to amsterdam Contest. It's been a busy week for the three plants. I waited until aprox mid week (Tuesday 2nd June) to begin some LST And each plant proved to be tricky in one way or another. Plant 1 has very flexible branches that I needed to use tent pegs on to hold down each branch I wanted to train. Plant 2 is very bushy and has quite a few side branches happening so I managed to tie down atleast 6 with some soft wire and left the others to grow a bit longer before I try more LST. Plant 3 was the trickiest because the branches are very stiff and not very willing to bend . I found this out by accidently snapping a branch off. I managed to tie a few down but have the two main branches still growing vertically for the time being. (Wed 3rd June ) Not touching them today and will water tomorrow (Thurs 4th June) Watered each plant with 2 Litres of Water (Friday 5th June) Today I am very happy with the way they responded to the LST all three plants have really bounced back well and look super happy. I have been playing around with a homemade CO2 producer which is very easy to make with household items. Basically I re-used a 1.5l empty water bottle as the container. Then I simply punched a small hole in the lid for the CO2 gas to escape. I then added aprox 7-10 teaspoons of Sugar & half filled it with nice warm water (not too hot) and let the sugar dissolve. Then I added 3 teaspoons of Bakers Yeast and gently shook it all up before placing the lid with the hole in it back on the bottle and placing it inside the Grow tent. The principle of this is that the yeast and sugar react with each other to start "Fermenting" which causes the release of gasses which are made up of CO2. Now whether or not this does anything to make the plants grow any faster is conjecture on my part but I have noticed that the plants look very healthy and growth has been more this week than previous weeks so who knows????? It's worth a try if you have the time and inclination to try it. Well that brings me to the end of this weeks Wonder Pie update. Thankyou very much for taking the time to Read it, I truly do appreciate the kind words and likes etc and I shall be back next week with another. 👍

Chance Of A Lifetime Greenhouse seeds Wonder Pie Week six 12th June 2020 Welcome back , Well aprox 6 days have passed since I flipped the lighting schedule to 12/12 and they are starting to flower 👌 I was planning on vegging them longer but I decided that I didn't want to risk them stretching too much as they only have 70cm between them and the top of the tent . Never mind I am still happy with the way my tent is filling up with the three girls and another plant I already had running. Because I had already added enough Bio Grow to veg for an extra week or so , and the plants seem to be growing just fine with water I will not add the Bio Bloom until the end of Next week . I am due to feed them with the enhancer again so I think that should see them thru the initial stretch and flowering nicely 👍 During this week I had to do a few alterations to the plants using LST and soft wire. My main aim is to keep training each plant so that it fills in as much of the area around it as possible thus not wasting any room if possible . Because I am using a living soil mix I occasionly need to "feed" it too , but incase I was breaking any rules regarding the competition I wanted to clarify whether worm castings and worm tea made with molasses was allowed. Luckily I was informed recently that Yes it is ok so some time next week I will also add some fresh worm tea and a handful of castings to each plant. I am super impressed with the uniformity of this strain as all three of mine look almost identical to a lot of the other Wonder pie diaries I have been following, this means that the strain is homozygous and will no doubt produce a similiar result each time it is grown. Kudo's to Arjan and his team @Greenhouseseedco Well that is about all for this weeks update , please leave a like & Thankyou for stopping by 👍

Chance Of A Lifetime Greenhouse Seeds Wonder Pie Week 7 18th June 2020 Okay so I will start off with the good part of the week so as not to shock you too much..... Last week I mentioned how I needed to "feed" the Living soil I'm growing in and this week I got stuck into it I did a run of worm tea straight from my worm farm. I then filled the bucket with rainwater and added in some Blackstrap Molasses (Vid 1) Then in went some Greenhouse Feeding "Enhancer" and Seaweed solution Then once that was all mixed in I added some "Dr Greenthumbs High Tea" and threw in a few airstones and starting the bubbling process which will take aprox 48 hours. The Purpose of this Byodynamic "TEA" that I'm brewing is to provide essential microbial feeds to the living organisms within my soil in the form of natural sugars and starches etc. I also chopped up a fresh piece of Aloe vera and let it soak in a bit of water for a few days that I was planning on feeding to the Girls............ Now for the Part that is both upsetting to me and to be honest very bloody Disapointing!! 😠 Two of the three Wonder Pie Plants have Lots of Male Balls developing and are Fucking useless hermoprodites 💩 The 3rd Plant so far has no sign of Pollen sacks developing but if it Does then all of my hard work to date will be for Zip because I will be pulling it up just like I did to the other two 😢 So there you have it 7 weeks of Good growth not to mention Energy costs etc down the drain for those two plants and if the third one goes Hermie too I'll be out of the Running to win that trip to Amsterdam 😢 Because the other Female plant I have growing in the same tent (Dinafem Cheese) has not shown any signs of Hermie traits I'm putting this one down to VERY unstable and unreliable genetics so if you are growing this strain Wonder Pie keep a good eye on it once flowering has been initiated as I got lucky and saw them early but if left to grow unnoticed just one rogue pollen sack could seed your entire crop with unusable hermophroditic shit seeds . Just in case I get lucky and the final plant stays Fully Female , I went ahead and added in 30grams of the Bio Bloom Mix to her soil and watered it in . Well thats my story for the week Not the one I was wanting to tell but shit happens and it happens to me on a regular basis 😖 If I dont update again from here you will know that it went hermie and got destroyed . Thanks to all who have followed and liked so far I really appreciate it. Good luck everyone If I dont make it past this point

Checked my third and final plant this evening and it's a Fucking Hermie as well 😡 It got chucked in the fire where it belongs bummer hey So to clarify I'm Now out of the Competition and this Grow is Over because ALL THREE PLANTS TURNED HERMIE shortly after flipping to 12/12 if you are growing the wonder Pie I urge you to keep an extra sharp eye on them after the flip to Start flowering Well here I am with another sad update aswell as my grow there are now 4 more confirmed Cases of other growers Wonder pie plants becoming Hermies So out of the 25 Growers who were growing the wonder pie in the competition 5 got hermies which means 20% of the seeds sent out were extremely prone to being Hermies Simply not good enough from a supposedly World Class Cannabis breeder and the so called king of Cannabis Rant Over buyer Beware stay away from Wonder Pie as its Just absolute Bunk Shit Hermie Garbage

High growmie, this is really annoying with the hermies 👎 . Unfortunately never seen a good strain from greenhouse seeds. Fuck Arjan, makes GHS to Mc Donalds. There are so much better breeders on the market. Even for the Amsterdam trip i would not grow its varieties. Keep it gr3en 👍 😁 💪

The like is for the fact that you showed us the quality of Greenhouse Genetics.. I am really amazed, in a bad way. Always been a big fan of Franco (RIP) and their Strain Hunter series and I really had a feeling like they would provide quality stuff. Never tried their bank yet, though. And I feel like I won't.. Thanks for that brother. Pity for the work though, totally understand your frustration!

@Grey_Wolf, hey buddy it's not pure disappointment, since I've been warned now! I will do a photoperiod run in a few months and started with my selection already I may aswell ask you for your opinion on the different strains/seedbanks if you're ok to share some more thoughts on that topic. I've been mainly doing fastbuds autos the past 2 years and didn't have a lot of hermie problems, thank god. However, what you said about the seedsbank makes a lot of sense thinking about it- sadly. Quantity over quality is not how a good business is being run, but many people smell the big money and do irrational, stupid decisions. You see it in each and every possible way in any industry nowadays 🤷‍♂️ the world has become a crazy fast-paced place if you ask me.
Grey_Wolf
Grey_Wolfcommented5 years ago
@Topshelf420, Hi mate sorry to disapoint you regarding the seedbanks merits so to speak whats happened in the last few years is ridiculous as Every seedbank is racing each other to release more and more of these "American genetics" Only problem is They have to use Clones and reverse sex them to make seeds Then instead of growing out the seeds and selecting ONLY the ones that do NOT hermie like most of them used to do they just send them out virtually untested. GHSC arent the only culprits Ive seen lots of Hermies from Barneys Farm stuff among others lately too

Damnnnn that’s horrible ! But it demonstrates that US Genetics aren’t really stable..I guess it’s related to the cuts being used to create all these Hybrids we know today 🤔🤷‍♂️🏼you can find a lot of „Top US strains“ went hermie as well not just wonder pie but gelato cookies wedding cake etc. it’s just fucked up
Grey_Wolf
Grey_Wolfcommented5 years ago
@@Resin_Randy, Im glad I caught them early and not halfway thru flowering that would've been even worse but yes I totally agree with you in that the Breeders chasing the $$ unfortunately rush to get out New strains to keep up with demand and current trends but neglect to adequately Test and eliminate bad traits before doing so.

What a field already, crazy! Grey I have question not on your grow but on my greenhouse.. Sorry to ask, but i think you are a walking encyclopedia.. Since yesterday i spotted a female that was transitioning in a hermaphrodite.. Removed the plant from greenhouse INSTANTLY, and is now +50meters away That hermaphrodite im inspecting and spotted not only those banana sacks but also a few seed balls ( will take a few pictures in a few hours and make a grow question in green o matic dairy) This got me paranoid on my whole season, inspected already today all my flowering plants and as far im capable of spotting, there is no other plants affected at this point is there a danger everything is going to transit into hermas or transgenders? Sorry to bother you, but thanks in advance!
Grey_Wolf
Grey_Wolfcommented5 years ago
@daymzor, it can happen quick so just keep an eye out for any new growth at the junction where each branch joins the stem which is where you would have seen the banana's on the other one hopefully it was just the one plant and the rest will stay fem Good luck

@daymzor, hi mate there is always a chance that some others in there may turn as well so you will need to keep an eye on them As for the one you removed , pollen can stick to your clothing as well as your hands so if you plan on keeping it Only go near it After you have seen to the females each day otherwise you will get lots of seeds that will carry the hermophrodite traits (not ideal)
