This season we are going with a CBD strain. Specifically, it will be the Pink Kush CBD 30:1 from Seedsman. I would have really liked to see the "Pink Panther" artwork for the packaging, but I understand and don't hold anything against Seedsman. I've seen some of the grows on here so far with the strain and look forward to the journey. I know that it is supposed to be a 9-week harvest, but I expect to go over that. This strain was chosen for it's high CBD content to be used possibly all day to help with chronic illness and stress. If the effects are more relaxing than anticipated, it will still serve well as a night time vape if it can't be used all day. If that is also the case, we have the Dr. Seedsman 30:1 CBD strain that we could grow for its sativa genetics over the indica genetics of Pink Kush.
LST is starting on Week 2 to try and allow the lowest branches an opportunity to grow up and be something, instead, of just getting cut off later. It may work, it may not, but I should be able to get a number of branches pulled away from each other to start growing a fair amount of tops. I've seen some people struggle with growing this strain, using the diaries on here for a reference. I think that she will do well based on this growth so far. Also, I will no longer be using the green plant ties, and I wouldn't recommend them to other people either. They are hard to get to bend the way you want depending on how much they want to coil, and they can scrape up your plant. Thread can be a pain in the but sometimes when it unfurls, but it's safer to the plant and gets the same job done, but better.
Still pleased with the amount of growth I'm seeing. She will be ending the horizontal training soon I think, and I'll let her start growing up before pulling her out. My goal is to have a "bowl" of tops.
Week 4 was a good week for growth. She is 7 inches tall now and should have a fair amount of tops based on the structure I was able to get. This has the potential to be my best-trained plant yet. She will be defoliated next week for sure. More LST will come in the future as I need to space the stalks out. But for the most part, letting her stretch and grow up since we have a good overall shape. The PH is that high to account for the drift as the nute water travels through the medium.
Week 5 will be the official last week of Veg. There will be some defoliation this week to help focus the growth. I've seen this strain respond well to some other people's defoliation, so I'm confident she will do fine. Especially since she is doing an outstanding job.
We are in full flower now. One lateral is struggling to be on par with everyone else, but has the smallest stalk and leaves, so it's not surprising. The color is coming on strong and looks fantastic in person. It's not often to see a plant that looks so black. There was a flush performed this week before the nutrients were applied. I'm also running out of space in my tent for the light. If it becomes too much of an issue I'll have to move my light hanger and then angle the light.
She is getting larger, which is always nice. This is the slow part of the process that I don't care for, because it takes so long to see the changes. I haven't adjusted the light yet to be on the side of the plant, but probably will soon. The light is now at it's highest point and is maybe just over a foot away. The plant has shown no light bleaching or anything else, but I don't want it to either. So when time permits, I'll be adjusting that.
Week 8, 2nd to last week of nutrients for this season. She is packing on the weight and getting larger each day. The main stalk has a fair amount of lean to it. She will get fed one more week, then the flush will begin. I would say that I'm pleased with this grow so far. Some people seem to struggle with this strain growing well. I could have a dud seed, but I'm glad the first was positive. The smell is definitely starting to increase as well, and I like it so far.
No nutrients going forward. Week 9 is the start of the flush, so we are closing in on the finish line at this point. She is looking really good so far. Fewer nutrient issues than I've seen on all my past grows. Could be the strain, could be my technique. Eitherway, feeling 👍.
The last week of growth is upon us. She is looking really good and I can't wait for the harvest. She has some major lean now that all the tie-downs have been removed. She is standing tall though and not stressing the lean with any concern.
This strain was pretty easy to grow, but not easy to turn into a large producer. Compared to other strains I've grown, this has been the easiest to grow without having a visible nutrient issue. The end result was rather meek, but looking around the web it's about average for a single plant. This is going to be a supplement so it's okay, technically speaking. I'll have to see if I can figure out something new next time to get more of a yield.
