I don't really have any veg pictures right now, I'll have to look deeper in my files.
This is week 1 in it's entirety. I water with Cogo's A & B 5ml/gal twice a day, with a little Hydroguard added. I usually like to give a really good defoliation right before flower but I didn't have time this round. I defoliated heavily the next week, and lollipopped halfway as I thought I would take clones, but since I'll be moving out soon I didn't have time to monster crop.
This is week 2 in it's entirety. As you can see I defoliated heavily and partially lolliopped, I may as well chop off the lower branches sooner than later so I can give the top nodes more energy for budding. I still haven't done so by week 3.
1/21/18 - This is a sad day. I'm tearing down the tents and putting the plants in boxes in order to pass a pre-move out inspection the next day. Let's hope these girls don't get too stressed out. I'm leaving them under a 300w LED until 5 am, when it's lights out, I'll close the boxes up and store the lights away then, just to make sure they stay as happy as possible.
I will update this same week with more pictures and results post-inspection.
1/27/18 - The inspection went well and the plants are happy in the closet so far. I probably won't be setting up the tents again to make my move easier for me. They are under the 600w again, started feeding 4ml/gal A and 6ml/gal B to boost the phosphorus for a little, seeing how it goes. Schedule usually calls for 7ml/gal A&B all the way thru until the last 2 weeks before flush, that's when you up the phosphorus and lower the nitrogen. But I want to try things a little different, plus 7ml seems like overkill with this stuff, less is more.
Recharging the microbes this week, only watering with them at the start of the week, then back on to normal schedule of 5ml/5ml w/ Hydroguard. They seem to be swelling up pretty nicely, and the Amnesia is getting especially frosty. The smell of the Amnesia permeates the whole room, she's a strong one, but the Widow is definitely showing bigger colas.
They look a bit bigger and a lot frostier. I upped the B and lowered the A, so more phosphorus and less nitrogen starting now. I'll be lowering/upping it again next week, and after that is a 2 week flush then harvest. Seeing odd little salt specks on some leaves. I looked at them with a microscope and they look like little salty granules, they aren't showing bunched up together, just 1 speck of "salt" here and there, not very many at all. I wonder what it could be. I don't think it's any sort of deficiency, PM, or bug problem.
The Widow seems to be asking either for more water or for less. I'd be leaning towards more since I only water once a day at this point, since my plants are in my closet it's hard not to let light leak in if I try to go in there to water during the day. I miss my hydroponic setup.
They just keep getting frostier and frostier. I definitely sacrificed weight, I should have transplanted when I had the chance. With my move-out being so soon, I didn't have time to transplant in veg, I had to flip immediately to flower so I could get this round out faster, and as a result the yield was effected. They'll definitely be getting bigger from here, but not by much, I won't be expecting anything huge with flush coming next week. At least I know it'll be some damn good smoke!
Boy oh boy, the OG Amnesia absolutely hated the 1/9 schedule, all the other plants were thriving on it. I gave them all a flush and changed the nutes to 3/A and 8/B for the last few days of week 7. Week 8 I'll continue giving nutrients till Thursday, then I flush for 10 days. Added some recharge and humic acid to give a last extra little push. I'm sad the Amnesia got all burnt but the buds looks nice and frosty, so I'm sure I'm in for a good smoke.
It's finally week 9, harvest comes at the end! First off, I'm embarrassed to say I put the wrong breeder and strain for the Amnesia. It's actually Amnesia OG by Royal Queen Seeds. Amazing strain, but I definitely didn't grow it correctly. I'm chalking it down to root problems and upping the phosphorus way too early. As for the rest of my plants, including the White Widow, they absolutely loved this schedule, but again, yield was affected by not transplanting a week before flower like I wanted to. Overall, this round has been a lot of fun and it may have even been my best in terms of quality. We'll see after harvest this weekend! Thanks for sticking around, guys!
I definitely love smoking this stuff before and after work. I can still be productive while having that stoney faced feeling and the fuzziness on my scalp. Awesome strain, even better to relax and end the day with too. I love smoking it while playing video games, it certainly seems to have a strong cerebral effect. It has a strong pungent, woody-spice smell, very pleasant with notes of dank. The taste is the same and lingers, a taste you can smack your lips to and say "MMM MM GOOD", almost like you just ate sap right off a tree. I highly recommend this strain. It's legendary and a classic.
I had a very good time tracking my grow with GD, my grow could have gone a lot better. I could have transplanted before flower and yielded much more, and that's my only qualm. Overall, the smoke is fantastic - some of the smoothest stuff I've ever smoked - and the high is almost magic, takes me back to high school.
I still smoke it during the day and at work but it's totally for night time. I remember driving to my new place from my old place, smoking this on the way. I was stopped at a stop light, took a hit, and as I was holding it in I forgot where I came from and where I was heading. Fuckin' awesome strain, the smell is super unique (to me), I can't really pinpoint the scent but it's sorta flowery-sweet with a hint of dank. Opening the jar and smelling it from far away has that dank skunk smell, but up close you can smell the aroma of pinching sweet lavender with the same softness. (The slight skunk pinches the back of my nose and the more prominent lavender type smell is soft, like smelling actual lavender or fabric softener).
I really wish I had kept this strain on it's own schedule. It suffered when I fed it the same as everything else. It flowers in 70 days, whereas the White Widow and Pine Tar Kush are much shorter at 55 - 60 days. With the same schedule, I fed the Amnesia more phosphorus way too early, and for that it kept burning even after several heavy flushes. If I grow this strain again, I think I know how to master it.
Congrats, bud. You are harvesting some nice frost, regardless of your misgivings, isn't that the most important thing! Have fun with it. Very curious about the effects.
Cheers.
Congratulations your girls look great and happy harvest!!! I too have some White Widow drying right now and the smoke on her is awesome. Take care and good luck!!!
2/10/18 - UPDATE: Added end of week 6 photos, you can see a big difference. I still haven't found out what those salt specks are but they haven't been a problem after I found the first few.
1 word "stunning"
You have done a fantastic job and now will be rewarded with some fine looking end product . Full of flavour and covered in trichomes :)
Beautiful work my friend!
All the best
Mark..
@terplord420420, Spectacular results my friend. You du2d a great job :)
Enjoy that end product mate :)
And thank you for a great diary :)
All the best
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds,
Thank you so much, Mark. I'm honored to hear such praise. I was on a bit of a hiatus but I've finally added my harvest pictures. I hope you find the results as impressive as I did!
@terplord420, I add it in to my Nectar for the Gods nutrients with each feeding - 1/2 tsp. When I start seeing a little tip burn, if soil slurry shows good Ph reading and PPM reading, I go Recharge only.
1/27/18 - UPDATE: The inspection went well and the plants are happy in the closet so far. I probably won't be setting up the tents again to make my move easier for me. They are under the 600w again, started feeding 3ml/gal A and 7ml/gal B to boost the phosphorus for a little, seeing how it goes.
