Week 23 - Oct 11 2020
Welcome fellow growers
Well the additional week was just what was needed... I have 3 more plants ready to come down this week, and the “Farmhand” is good as new!! (well almost). With half of my crop harvested there is finally some room to get around in the greenhouse. The cold temps are continuing to bring out some very cool colors, and the buds are hardening up nicely. This week both of the Cherry Pies and the Grapefruit will be coming down. These are 3 of the bigger plants in the garden, I am expecting a pound + (dried) each one of them. It is going to be a lot of work, but the yield is going to be so worth it.
All of my harvested bud is drying up nicely, I forgot to fluff and tend to my bin of sweet leaf and unfortunately it went moldy!! Will start to collect again with the remaining harvest, I’ll still have plenty for a batch of butter or oil. As mentioned this week will be spent harvesting and trimming off leaf. Vacationing is over for the time being, nothing planned for the next 2 months at least so I should have lots of time to finish my harvest and get all of this bud through a proper cure cycle.
Canadian Thanksgiving was fantastic!! The whole gang went to Rock Point Provincial Park, we had some great weather and luckily the rain held off for packing up on Monday. It was my first time cooking a bird in a smoker, I was a little nervous she was cooking to fast so I turned her way down, maybe a touch to far, we didn’t end up hitting an internal temp of 165 till around 5 so dinner was delayed by a 1/2 hour but it was well worth the wait. The bird tasted awesome, it was nice and moist and had just the right amount of smoke flavor. We even got lucky as the kids all had to leave on Sunday the “Farmhand’s” boys went to their dads and my 2 went to their mothers for their turkey dinners, so we got a nice night to ourselves and you guys get some pics!! That’s a win win in my books!!!
Till next week!!!
@@Rocknrolla420, well I sure hope so, temps are dropping here in Ontario, I’m doing my best to keep the frost off of her. Think she will either come down this week or next.
Glad I stumbled across this grow. What a great project and well documented. This is one of the most fun diaries I’ve read. Can’t wait to see how things continue. Best of luck on the rest of this grow and thank you to your farmhand for adding that extra splash of color to an already colorful diary 😀
@Crpehdm,
With the vent in it, it looks pretty decsent for a selfmade greenhouse.
Im planning to break downs they old, low and tight greenhouse and build 1 with a wooden frame. The ventilator inspired me!! Ill take that idea with me.
Does take in or out? I geuss in.
Good growing and have fun

@Organic_LarF, Thank you, it’s taken me a bit longer than I wanted, but I’m going the extra mile to make sure it’s done properly so that it will last, with minimal maintenance.
@bingothatsawinner, No not just yet, I figure I have another 2 - 3 weeks of veg left. Not sure if my hand pruners are going to be able to get through the stocks at harvest time! Might have to saw them down!!!
@Crpehdm, oh that’s awesome! Should definitely talk more then, I’m less than a 10 minutes drive to notl! Would love to get some expertise and meet you and your farmhand l😜
