This is a strain from MSB , South american seed bank from Chile.
Strain is called Tropa de Elite (yes from the movie), automatic.
Started seeds on Rapid Rooters plugs.
Moist the plugs with RO water.
Waiting for them to pop up.
No nutes now.
Update 12/23
One seed sprouted so far
Added very low nutes to the Rez and transplanted to the grow site .
Update 12/24
Another seed started showing signs.
2 out of 4 so far.
So they seem to have catch up growth after the modifications.
I filled up the buckets with hydroton and made a diy cover to prevent light leak inside the buckets. Also bumped the Hydroguard.
One of them is already growing roots in the water really fast. Impressive.
Be sure to check out the amazing timelapse videos i've been cooking.
Almost time for a Rez change and bump up the nutes?
So, did the first water change on day 15.
Lots of action underneath, roots growing, but not much vertical growth.
Increased the PPMs to 250 and added a little bit of CalMag.
I see a little tip burn on the leaves but from running such a low PPM ?
PH has been steady.
Not too sure, just letting it ride.
01/08/2017 - DAY 19 issues?
Guys, need some help.
Check out recent pics, this is day 19 . Some leafs are showing issues. Light stress or nute burn? I am running 250ppm with 5.8ph stable RO water. 1ml/gallon 3 parth GH nutes (40 gallon system)
Day 24 Update.
New growth looking ok, one 1 plant is developing without major issues.
Others are somewhat stunted.
Since everything is dialed in I am not sure whats going on.
For the next run i will take everything apart, I am thinking maybe the chiller wasn't properly sterilized and is fucking me up.
Starting to think I was scammed.
5 weeks of Veg already and this was supposed to be an Auto strain...
Strange.....
Some pistils but not enough flowering, is this normal?
4 days since I changed to 20/4 instead of 24/0
Man, what a day yesterday...
I was doing a reservoir change and decided to do a FULL clean on all buckets and rez. Emptied till the last drop, wiped thoroughly with clean cloth and stupidly decided to add H2O2 on the new water to help sterilize pipes and chiller.
What a fucking dumb mistake, I was looking online for dosages and boys, oh boys, don't you ever trust broscience... Read somewhere it was safe to add up to 5ml/gal of 35% H2O2 and I went ahead and added 80ml of this shit on my system.
Almost immediately the plants started wilting, too bad I didn't take a pic, seriously, they looked like dead within a few minutes.
Luckily I didn't leave the room and was fortunate enough to realize what went wrong and dumped all the water before it was too late.
By the end of the day they seemed to have recovered.
Apart from this, flowers starting to show on this new 20/4 light regimen. Pretty late for allegedly autoflower strain...
Since they were stressed I decided not to bump the nutes straight away, so I've kept it at EC 1.2 for now, RO 0 + 100ppm Calmag + 500 nutes.
I'll let they get back to speed and then bump it a little more if they don't show burn.
I'm still struggling with CalMag, some leafs showing issues, I've been using Mag Sulphate and Cal Nitrate , Lab grade powders, I've got some CaliMagic coming and will use it instead soon.
Week 7.
Video update bonus included.
Sailing along.
Increased PPMs to 750, EC 1.5 and added Cal-Mag to the mix.
Defoliated some damaged leaves and some fans which were clouding potential buds.
More detailed shots coming soon
#update 02/09/2017
New camera with corrected WB. New pics and Video test.
Cruise control...
Did a rez change, fresh new RO water + added calmag and nutes totalling 750ppm.
Not much vertical growth.
Buds fattening up now.
tied up some of the branches and defoliated a little to allow more light penetration.
Man... I was reading up on the current culture website. My diy rdwc is a copycat of their undercurrent 4 bucket system.
Only difference is I use electrolysis instead of air stones now.
And they have a feeding chart for super Oxygenated systems like these that asks for a maximum of 350ppm on PEAK flowering !
I guess I was stunting the hell out of these plants that's why they never looked perfectly healthy.
What the hell.
Anyway, nothing to lose now, only learning and getting more experienced, so I will flush and refill with a weak 350 solution and let it sit for the rest of the remaining period.
They're looking pretty bashed.
Spots, burnt, curling...
Only to make things worse I walked into the maintenance today and the CO2 was reading crazy like 8.000 ppm!!!!
The solenoid on the CO2 cylinder is malfunctioning and even when the controller powered it off it stayed open ... crazeeee
Bumped the PPMS a little to 350 max recommended UC, super aerated.
Also found my P900 LED to be stressing the plants too much, maybe too much power for the current setup, also given the plants are not 100% healthy.
So I swapped for 2x full spectrum 150w CMH which I had around. Hopefully it will be easier on them and let them finish properly.
