Girl Scout Cookies - Original Sensible Seeds (O G Kush x Durban Poison)
THC - 22%
Height 80-100cm
Flower - 65 to 70 days
Day 3 (incl.germination)
Germination was stress free with a good radicle developing within 48 hours
Despite its popularity, this is a strain I have never grown before and am very much looking forward to seeing how she develops
Two and a half weeks including germination.
Growth has picked up after a slow start running from 1.5 inches to 7 inches.
She is vigorous and healthy save for a leaf that was damaged out of the seed husk.
Plan is to top her at 7th node if all is well
Almost end of week 3.
After a slow start, GSC has gotten into her stride and is growing well despite local scorching temperatures and is dealing with the heat stress, for the most part, like a champ.
She was re-potted her from a 1 ltr orchid pot into a 25 ltr airpot at the end of week 2 using hydrocorn as a base with Bio-Bizz All Mix, (with an extra 10% added perlite) and a half strength mix of Green House Feeding - Bio Grow. This should only require water for the rest of the veg period with the occasional Bio-Enhancer top up (essentially humic acid and high quality kelp) although I will supplement with Bio Silicon, Fulvic Acid, Cal/Mag as required.
I have only filled my pots two-thirds full of soil at this stage as I will be adding a further amount of soil mixed with Green House Seeds - Bio Bloom supplement once we get to flower and I will need the extra 'pot' space.
She is nice and healthy and vigorous so I decided to top her at the 6th node. She showed no signs of sulking and was bouncing back within 24 hours.
Slightly smaller than some of the other behemouths growing along side her (different strains all germinated at the same time), however, she is well on the way to developing dinner plate sized leaves already.
Some LST lies ahead once we have a little more branching development.
Approaching the end of week 4.
Rapid growth spurt from GSC growing 6 inches in a week.
I have not defoliated at all, but have deployed a little strategic leaf tucking which has allowed several bud sites to flourish.
I like to get my indoor plants to around 24 - 30 inches before flipping, so with about another three weeks of veg ahead, this should be more or less on schedule.
GSC was a little slow out of the blocks, growing healthily but slowly. However, after about two weeks, she got her toes planted and has since grown faster than the three other different and very vigorous cultivars growing alongside her.
Approaching the end of week 5.
Good growth with 4.5 inches over tha last 7 days.
After a slightly slow start, GSC is into her stride now and I will wait until she has reached circa 24 inches before flipping to flower.
She has had a pre-flower defoliation of all sucker branches that I decided would not produce substantive bud although I have left the leaves other than the lowest which have been removed to aid airflow.
Flip to flower in next two weeks.
Approaching the end of week six.
3 inches growth in the last 7 days which is reasonable.
From a slow start (she took two weeks to dig her toes in) she has not looked back and has gone from the proverbial 'ugly duckling' to a real looker.
Lovely short bushy structure although she has been limited to a single topping due to lack of grow space.
Shaved her legs a little and carried out final pre-flower sucker branch removal. Will dose her with Alg -a - Mic over the next week to help relieve any stress.
Will be flipping her next week.
Approaching end of week 7 (end of week 1 of flower).
About 3.5 - 4 inches growth this week.
From the outset, I only filled my pots 2/3 full of soil. This allowed me to add a further 8-9 litres of soil with two third strength GHF Bio Grow powder mixed in.
I now have full pots and have noticed that the additional soil has added an extra 1 - 1.5 days to my watering cycle as it is retaining moisture much better.
Carried out slight defoliation to aid light penetration.
Will increase cal/mag slightly going forward.
End of week 2 of flower.
Good stretch of 7.5 inches over the past week.
I have carried out a final defoliation and should need only maintenance defoliation going forward.
I also staked her out to open her up a little for better light penetration. I will gradually widen the spread as she adjusts.
GSC was perhaps the slowest off the blocks of the four different cultivars that I started for this round but she has become a firm favourite with beautiful good looks and an effortless natural shape and structure. She has very refined leaves and a sophisticated smell already.
More like end of week three and a couple of days into week 4.
Been in hospital under the knife last 10 days
They are all still alive!
.........................................................as am I.
End of week 5 of flower.
Buds building steadily, about 4 weeks until harvest.
Effortless plant to grow another really solid set of genetics from Original Sensible Seeds.
Steady development.
Just water flush from now until the end.
Buds are medium/small in size but very dense and solid.
Harvest will be in next 1-2 weeks.
