Just purchased this baby from SDRC (San Diego Rec Cannabis)! 24K, an 60% Indica-dom Hybrid; purchased on a whim and when I got her home, I did not have ANY setup whatsoever. I had a pot and soil laying around and used that, along with a 30W halogen clip-on light from Home Depot.

After just 10 days, can't believe she has doubled in size. No nutrients given, just small amounts of water daily. The soil was not drying up quick enough...probably due to the Home Depot ceramic, one-drain hole pot. Still healthy though! I imagine it is still getting a lot of its nutrients from the jiffy cube, too.

This was a critical week as I transplanted her from the Home Depot ceramic pot to a 3 gal fabric pot, and finally moved into an actual grow tent! Got all of my equipment this week: MarsHydro 24x24x60 grow tent, Spider Farm 1000 LEDs, AC Infinity Cloudline S4 intake fan, iPower 4" Air Carbon Filter/Sock. After I transplanted her, she had mild shock and accidentally broke a stem. Fortunately it was not torn and was able to splint it. Gave 1/2 strength Grow Big. Started LST.

Wow, what a difference a week makes! Amazing growth of new stems and foliage. Continued to do LST. She is responding well to it and increased light power to 100%. Experienced a little light burn the first day, but raised it up to 18" again. She grew a few inches and didn't raise light accordingly. Trying to manifold and spread out, hopefully filling up as much space as possible. Did some light defoliation to open up the light to the lower area.

Another week in the books and significant growth as I increase dosage of nutrients, closer to 100% full dosage. I have read mixed messages about feeding every watering, to every other, to once a week...full strength, 1/2 strength, etc etc. I decided to ease into the nutes and work my way up, and feed only weekly. Less is more! Wait for her to get a little bigger and more mature and will feel better feeding at 100% full dosage. Did some more LST, pulling down higher stems and continue to build the table. Day 37: more growth; did some light defoliation to open up center; raised light to 18" (was at 15" in some spots) as it continues to grow. Day 41: more growth; transplanted into 5 gal fabric pot; installed ScROG and will continue veg stage until rest of the plant catches up to at least a few inches above the screen

After taking a look at several other similar grows, I am beginning to wonder if 1) I am holding back on giving enough nutes, or 2) light is sufficient or overkill? What about it's distance? As this is my first grow, any advice and tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

For light get yourself a lux light meter app from playstore or apple they're free. - seedlings 5-15k lux - veg 15-35k lux - flower 50+k lux Take readings from top of plants. I'd say plants look fine for 5 wks

Going to give it 1-2 more weeks in vegetative. Want to fill out the table as best as possible before switching to flower. It is still actively growing as I am lightly defoliating to maintain good lighting throughout the plant. She is getting thirstier so watering on average about a gal every 1-2 days.

Heavy defoliation to lower 1/3 of plant; installed 2nd screen to for future bud support; implemented CalMag, microbes, tea, and humid acid; seen an improvement since adding the additional nutrients. Also reduced light from 24 to 18 hrs to see if vigor returns, which it did.

I started a Scrog set up and believe I am in final stages to flip to flower. Let me know if I should flip now? I am afraid of overfilling and suffocating growing buds. Do I need to do some defoliation prior to the flip, or wait until a few weeks into flower? See Wk 8 Veg

Completed 1st week of flower and did a major defoliation a couple days ago, but you can't tell anymore. Growth is picking up as a few heads already popped through top screen. Also upgraded my exhaust fans to the AC Infinity w/ Humidity Controller. Wow, what a big difference!

Seeing a lot of growth and bud formation. Light defoliation. Afraid to take off too much and stunt the growth! Hoping that doesn't turn out to be a mistake as far as yield goes.

So I decided to add in some soluble fertilizers. I gave it a 1/4 tsp (50% of recommended dosage) a couple days ago and noticed some yellowing of new growth on the bud sites. Is this a sign of excess potassium and phosphorus? I gave it Fox Farm Open Sesame (5-45-19).

Based off of the information provided and the appearance of internodal chlorosis occurring on new leaves at the growth tips; I would guess the Open Sesame was a little too much Phosphorus and/or Potassium for your girl. She may be a light feeder. There are other factors that could be the cause of the internodal chlorosis; however, assuming that you're monitoring and pH and PPM and adjusting as needed; the Open Sesame Sound like the most likely culprit to me. Good luck and happy growing!

Completed Week 12 (Week 4 Bloom) with a bang, discovered I had Powdery Mildew! Culprit was a newer plant from another tent. Treated with a milk/water (60/40) solution and gave it a serious defoliation and even removed really bad PM'd bud sites. So pissed that I had left both tents open, when I should have kept only one open at a time. I am hoping I can stay on top of keeping it in control and will look to use an H2O2/water solution to briefly soak the harvest in afterwards to kill off any PM and other bacteria. I think next time, unless I know I can easily access all four sides of a scrog, it is very difficult to maintain and defoliate properly.

Ok, here is a question to ALL growers out there. How do you remedy Powdery Mildew on a flowering plant? I gave her a major defoliation and sprayed the milk/water sol'n. So HOW do you treat PM? Milk/Water or H2O2/Water? Or?? Suggestions?

baking soda, 1 tea spoon/ quart of water. spray on. copper sulphate, read lables. fungacidal soap sprays; garlic sprays, 1/2 cup minced garlic, 1 quart of water. let sit 24hrs, strain, spray. sulphur, one of the best natural sprays. it is low in toxicity. micro kill, a citric based killer. i use this with great success Any of these, btw, can u pick my answer, its for grow contest, most answers wins some merch and seeds. Thanks, good luck on your fungal extermination, even tho you won't need it with these methods.

Looks like I am almost ready to harvest! I also miscalculated my timing and I am actually in Week SIX (not 5)! Found about 7-8 bud stalks that were ready (20% amber), so harvested those few today. Should be harvesting the rest over the course of this week, depending on when they're ripe. Going for trophy cutting, as opposed to whole plant harvesting to ensure they're all ripe! Stopped all nutes this week and will only feed plain water.

A fun first microgrow for me! Last time growing was outdoors in the 90s so a lot has changed, and learning indoor techniques. Encountered some bumps along the way, but nevertheless, the plant recovered and produced. Midway through flower, I encountered PM and dealt with it first, with milk and water. That kept it at bay, but it it still progressed. Treated with H2O2/water. Worked at first, but concentration was probably not enough. Then tried Potassium Bicarbonate/Veg Oil/drop of Dawn soap and that wiped it out. I knew that spraying that would possibly change the pH, but had no other choice at that point. Thankfully it wiped it out! Cut away diseased/dead leaves and she ripened. Because I had to heavily defoliate because of the PM, I believe it stunted bud growth as it didn't have enough leaves to generate energy and grow fatter/bigger. In terms of difficulty in growing, once I gave her the proper nutrients, she took off! My lesson learned in this is to make sure I don't scrog the branches coming off the tertiary ones. Instead, strip the lanky ones and grow bigger tertiaries, resulting in bigger buds/colas. I was concerned with trying to fill out the scrog screen that I overlooked the fact I was splitting the colas. It was a healthy strain and grew vigorously, once I consulted with a good FB Group Member. She gave me great advice with the use of Humic Acids and microbial bacteria. I believe if the grow environment is ideal, practically anyone will be able to grow even the most difficult of strains. Wish it had better tolerance to PM, but most likely because both mother and father plants were of northern hemisphere cultivar, so more susceptible to PM than tropical/equatorial ones. Did not have access to a scale so did not weigh wet before hanging to dry. More concerned with ensuring I don't fuck this last part of the process up...dry/cure can be fatal to your harvest if not done properly! Now comes the wait to dry, then bottle/curing process. More to follow...stay tuned!
