- Week 10 -
----- Day 64 -----
Easy day, 1 more day of drying for tropicanna Glookies so no harvest post today. But tomorrow for sure.
Wedding Cake has 75% cloudy, 5% amber. I give it 4-6 more days.
It's THICK as a brick shit house. Very dense. Incredibly dense.
Waiting on 30-40% amber trichs, maybe even 50%. I want to go to bed with this stuff not vacuum my house like the Tropicanna Glookies (Sativa)
Speaking of Tropicanna Glookies, I put a tester nug in a container and when opening it got the distinct taste of grapes and pineapple making it almost island candy esque. Can't wait to see what a half pound or more can do in a container for smell during cure.
----- Day 65 -----
There's a lot more here than I thought.
This is a really long process. Here's some idea of how big this job is for only the tropicanna. Damn!.
Scissors already jammed in the first 2 ounces of trim. Gonna break and enjoy some hand hash from the scissors on my dab press machine at 600 farenheit.
Lights off downstairs in like 1.5 hours. prob wont finish trimming till tomorrow.
So one more day, sorry about the delay if anyones been waiting final yield and pics. I don't trim upstairs. Way too much smell.
Nothing new with Wedding Cake, just waiting on golden trichs. I'll check tomorrow once trim is done and figure out chop day if possible.
----- Day 66 -----
Got busy today so wasn't able to finish.
So far 80 grams harvested in that container, 30 grams been taken for smoking/testing and 10 grams shipped to Labs for testing.
Still a lot left.
Final weight tomorrow.
Wedding Cake - Amber trichomes are not happening and it's kind of pissing me off. At this rate this plant could hit 80~ days... fawk.
----- Day 67 -----
I made budder today (Which is now yesterday while i write this)
I got really baked and just watched movies and half assed trimming and still didn't finish after 5 hours.
I'm going downstairs right now to finish. prob 2 ounces left.
Pics and final harvest of Glookies within a couple hours.
----- Day 68 -----
Wedding Cake starting Amber, mostly cloudy.
Expecting Finish around Day 77-80.
Fed today 700ppm - Floranova Grow for a general full micro/macro feed. 6.4ph
FORGOT TO MENTION:
I was pissed its still not turning amber, dont really want a day 77 indica so I allowed plants to go dry an extra day, this morning they were in beginning turgor loss stage and then I fed them to full recovery. You can see that on the pics of the leaf drooping. This was done on purpose.
Hoping plant reacts by maturing a tiny bit faster, but I won't be doing any more stressors incase hermies start developing
----- Day 69 ----
Decided to remove some fan leaves covering parts of bud on front Wedding Cake only, will find out if it has any major good or bad effects compared to the one in the back I left alone.
Wedding Cake's a MONSTER. When these nugs dry its going to be difficult to break them up. The kind of bud that breaks coffee grinder blades.
Gonna be a huge yield on these ladies. No promises or expectations but I might break a pound for a single plant thanks to these ladies insane dense bud structure.
Trichomes are still not ready. This phenotype of Canuk seeds Wedding Cake is 100% a Sativa trichome high for Harvest day (I'd say day 66-69 if you wanted a good all around Sativa with little couch-lock effect) with Indica bud structures. Still waiting it out to hit amber maturity of roughly 40%.
Frigging PRAYING its before day 77 as I want to go camping.
Really curious how the wedding cake turns out. Just put some beans in the cup yesterday, heard great things about their wedding cake and since I could not get Jungle Boys ANYWHERE, I decided too try Canuks. Looks great btw
@TopShelfTrees,
One things for sure, they are friggin JAM packed with bud. Massive weight for even the tiniest nug. The tropicanna I could squish to near nothing and it'd pop back out to normal. Wedding cake is like trying to press in a brick.
Going to be monster yields.
Canuk seeds generally LOVE cal/mag btw. I notice Cal/mag issues on Canuk genes more than any other bean companies ive tried so don't skip out on the cal/mag.
Well, I felt like I should give this a proper ending.
I used Canvas Labs to get a Health Canada level screening of all parameters available (was like $700 bucks) and it came back showing lead and mercury.
I freaked the hell out, contacted them, and they ran samples to an even higher level lab, it was quite an intense experience.
I had massive, massive anxiety... am i smoking lead and mercury tainted pot? How did it get into my grow?
So BAM I chuck all my ferts and re-buy a newer better brand
So BAM I chuck the felt vivosun 7 gallon pots. (Why? Cause who's frigging kidding here, do you trust anything made in a manufacturing plant made in China, sold to a supplier, slapped with a label from some rich dude who pays for it and calls it vivosun on amazon's platform where they routinely send crap so bad it breaks upon use or doesn't work at all so they delete the product and you can't get your money back cause its just gone from product detail info for returns. (That was my colloidal silver, the previous example was a box fan))
So BAM i kill my 4 darling 5 foot tall, 6inch diameter trunk 11 month old plants.
And of COURSE Canvas labs comes back saying there was a lab error, there was no lead and mercury.
So that was a nightmare, and I killed the above plants.
This whole scenario sent me back massively financially and while waiting for my upgraded production medical license also, has caused a lot of time between my last postings of grows.
Shiiiiiit that was long. Posted for anyone who was curious, I use this as a diary mainly as well for long term retrieval of issues how I fixed them and results etc etc. for any necessary future need.
I was originally hesitant about posting why I killed them so blamed it on hydro. I asked a lawyer friend If it's safe to talk about it happening, they said yea, so that's why I'm mentioning it now. I would have kept these ladies alive for multiple flowering rounds.
Ramble over
