Hi guys!
Start was not easy, i made a mistake - took too small plant and potted it to too big 10l pot, which contained coco, which was too saturated. So i got troubles for a week, but after some emergency measures i took, she was saved and started to grow normally. So this first week here was really a 22 days, or day 13-14 if normally grown without stress.
This Kraken seed was my last of this strain, and i badly want to see what does super Indica look like :D Could not resist to save this baby and give her a try.
Also, this is my first experience with coco.
Using 10l AirPot, Ugro with fungi and will be adding bacteria here too.
Will use Hesi coco line as main base, with adding custom nutes if needed.
So, here we go, it is day 22 really.
Plant was struggling for life, after she recovered - started to work with her. Removed pair of leaves from central cola 2 times in 2 day interval, this will slow down growth of it and send growth hormones to side branches. Will repeat that action few more times instead of topping.
Also after remaking of my grow box, my part of LED panel died. Till now plant grows under 77W white led lights only and i could say it is a bit not enough. Hoping to fix everything up to end of next week and then growth should go as fast as usual.
Thank you for reading this diary and welcome to my first journey to coco! :)
This week i partially fixed my grow lights, but not all of them.
Still did not make a drainage system for coco, so it is hard to feed her still. EC is still high, fed all week with RO water only, without drainage.
Removed another couple of leaf from center. Now it is not growing faster than side branches.
Washed coco with 4l of weak tea of 400ppm, to get rid of what's there. Drained out apprx 2l of tea with old stuff, ph6 and >600ppm. Hoping that will stop leaf from burning.
Also planning to set up Blumat carrot soon and i need max wet coco for that occasion.
From this day 30w of 730nm lights add-on will be always on and stays 30min after lights goes out every day. I want to see how this wavelenght will influence growth rate, especial vertical growth.
---
Reduced IR to 11 hours daily after just 3 days using IR, dont want internodes to be too long.
All this is perfect example how Emerson effect works. And this seems to be a reason why HPS is still mostly competetive lights. Just few remarks.
----
Reduced IR to 4 hours daily later, enough of stretching already. Will see in flowering ow much of it will be needed.
This is short period of preparation for flowering. Removed all small nodes from bottoms, only couple of them were left in more open areas, these will be for early testing :D
Reduced IR to 2hours + 30min. sunsets daily, enough of stretching.
Flowering starts with slight overdose. Rinsed coco with 4l of weaker tea, that should help.
Flowering will go under 125W of LED lights + 30w of 730nm for 50minutes before night and 30 minutes into night. Day lenght 14, night 10 hours.
Stretching as hell, i barely manage to fit it to the box, removed some smallest colas and biggest leaf. Training is crazy, branches are already woody, so things are pretty complicated. But i think that in the end everything will be good.
Last week of stretching, seems like it is right about to stop.
This time stems on leaf are long, so instead defol i usually make at this point, i tied all big leaf down, to expose more nodes. This will explode into nice buds.
Vertical growth is done, so added 45 minutes of IR to burst photosyntesis 1 hour before night and 30 minutes after night starts. Light schedule is same 14/10.
Tied all leaf down again, started to feed a bit stonger, there wewe small symptoms of Potassium def, fixed it.
Changed feeding line a bit, now it has 3 drip points around plant instead of 1, running on same one Blumat carrot.
I like that structure of cola, covered in lots of small nugs. She looks promising :)
This 14/10 thing has extended flowering for at least for couple of weeks. Only now first wave of stigmas seems to be about to mature.
Will keep same 14/10 for experimental purposes only, Will not use this again on photos.
Interesting thing we have here - on top of each cola she has grown new full "floor" about 5cm, which consists completely on small new branch structure and small flower sites. It seems like i will gain flower mass this way in the end. Experiment continues, but now only strict 12/12, i do not want her to flower forever.
Happy 420 everyone!
After pretty long drying she is done. Have packed her in many vacuum bags for comfortable use, these are not for sale :D Decided to give a try to cure everything in vacuum bags this time and see how that impacts flavor and smell.
Strain genetics are strong, not one male flower was found despite i plaid with her day lenght and switched her from flower to veg in flowering and switched back again to flower.
Smoke is decent, if you wish to fuck up all your day - smoke Kraken in the morning :D But anyway - i love the smoke and would recommend this strain not only to Indica lovers.000
