Macfly I'm starting the grow of the Dark Devil from Sweet Seeds. For the first few weeks, I've built a small cardboard cabinet lined with aluminum foil and set up the intake and exhaust with 2 PC fans while I wait for the Mars Hydro cabinet I've purchased to arrive. The first week isn't very exciting... 7L pot, Auto Mix 2.0 substrate from Cannabiogen, pH between 6.0 and 6.3. The substrate also contains Micro Vita from Top Crop, which along with the nutrients in the substrate will be enough until the flowering phase arrives. I'm not a big fan of topping autos due to their limited recovery time, but I'm going to do a test with this Dark Devil.

Macfly It seems that the Dark Devil is developing well despite having some issues with the temperature in the cabinet. I live in a coastal area of Spain, so you can imagine the temperatures we have around here... I'm spraying some cold water to lower the temperatures, and so far it's working well, but I don't want to imagine what will happen in August!!

Macfly The DD is moving along, you can see the progress and it's almost ready for a bit of LST, although I still haven't ruled out the apical pruning... The temperatures keep trying to wear me down, but the plant seems to be handling it much better than I am and isn't too worried! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, yes, I finally made the decision to do apical pruning since I have other plants and wanted to try it with one of them; the DD is probably the strongest and most willing one. The temperatures are still too high for my liking, although the plant is tolerating it well. Some tiny mosquitoes appeared that have bitten a few leaves, but I solved it by spraying water with essential oils; in this case, I used tea tree oil and citronella since I ran out of Neem oil.

Macfly The DD is responding wonderfully to the apical pruning along with the LST and is filling up with leaves, the branches are reaching for the light like crazy and are growing well. I’ll probably do a little defoliation tonight to open up the plant a bit. Day 26. I love the strength with which this plant is developing, I have 3 others with her that are 10 days older and I’m sure this one is going to surpass the 3 (although the Magnum will have something to say about that...xD). A little defoliation was applied since it’s generating a lot of leaves, watered with 700ml and off to sleep! Day 28. Great vibes, the defoliation is already noticeable and the plant continues strong and developing vigorously, the apical pruning was less than a scratch for her and she already has 2 beautiful heads that are reaching up with strength! In 2-3 days I’ll apply LST again.

Macfly Day 31. The plant has already started to flower overnight. It seems to be a bit faster than the other plants I have, so it probably won't develop as much; we'll see what happens. I water with 1 liter, every other day, base flowering fertilizer Bio Bloom 1ml in all waterings, and 0.3ml of Bud Candy for this watering. I plan to do another watering of 0.5ml at the end of the week with Bud Candy so it can start to lightly absorb the sugars. Day 34. Everything is going well, and the temperatures this week have been better, so I've managed to lower it by 1-2 degrees inside the cabinet. Today we’re not watering since I did it yesterday with 1L of water + 1ml of Bio Bloom. After 2 applications of the base fertilizer, you can already see the joy of the flowers! Purple tones are starting to show in the bloom. Day 35. Last day of week 5 and things are moving along, the flowers are slowly developing, but in just 1 day you can already see more purple parts. Today I water with 1L of water + 1ml of Bio Bloom + 0.5ml of Bud Candy. This plant is getting very thirsty, and for next week I will increase the watering to 1.5L. I’ve removed 2-3 large leaves that were blocking light to small tips that will soon stop being so small!

Looking good man :D have you been feeding calcium at any stage? the plants look less dark green then week 4 , and i can see some yellowing leaves at the bottom also.. these could be signs that calcium deficiency is beginning .. Maybe the other guys here can also give some input on this as i'm no expert yet ;) Keep it up 👍 greetings

Macflystarted grow question 6y ago
@Gi773s I've been noticing that little calcium deficiency for a week now, I think it's caused because I decided to water with osmosis water for the first 3 weeks to take advantage of the Auto mix 2.0 substrate without altering it for flowering. Cal Mag for the next watering, thanks bro!

Look for alkaline mineral water and mix it with osmosis water until you have an EC between 0.2 and 0.3. Use this water throughout the entire grow and forget about calcium and other minerals.

Macfly Day 36. Everything remains the same, but the temperature has risen and reaches 30 degrees during some hours of the day, I'm starting to use the air conditioning to solve the heat problem. I'm adding Micro Vita at the beginning of this week for the last time in this grow. Next time I'll mix it with the substrate instead of applying it in watering. 1ml of Bio Bloom in one liter of water. Ph 6.3. Day 38. The purple colors on the leaves of the flowers are starting to become noticeable. I have a Calmag from Biobizz on the way and I hope it arrives in 2-3 days. Watering with 1ml of Biobizz in 1 liter of water. Ph 6.3. Day 40. I'm starting to notice some leaves with problems, the Calmag should arrive today and I hope that fixes the issues. Watering with 1 liter of water without additives. Ph 6.3. I'll update in 2 days with the last day of the week. Day 42. The Calmag finally arrived and I'm applying it in a watering with 1L of water + 1ml Calmag + 1ml Bio Bloom. I hope the Calmag takes effect because I don't see the plant doing very well.

Hey friends! I'm having some issues with the leaves and although I think Calmag will fix it, I’d like to hear your opinions. I've also noticed that some leaf tips are curling downwards, how much do you think the temperature of around 27-30º is affecting me?

if you were using RO water like you mentioned in one of the earlier comments, then i'm pretty sure it's calmag (or the lack thereof).. you have interveinal chlorosis on some of the leaves (the veins on the leaves looking green, while in between it's turning yellow) which is a sign of a lack of magnesium, while the necrotic spots can be caused by calcium deficiency.. it also looks like some of the leaves are yellowish due to a possible nitrogen deficiency.. I assume you switched to bloom-nutrients right away with bloom? Don't forget that at the beginning of bloom there's also a streching phase in which the plant requires nitrogen, which usually bloom nutrients don't have too much of.. the switch to bloom nutrients should be made after the stretch once the plant starts building the flowers and fattening up the buds.. Not sure how much you feed her, but i'd up the amounts of nutrients a tiny bit and lower the amount of water. 1 liter per plant per day might be a bit on the high side, but for that you should check how dry the medium gets in between waterings.. Preferably you should measure the EC of the nutrient solution of the run-off.. 27 to 30 degrees is a bit on the high side, but should be still in the "ok" range.. you really don't want it to get any higher than 30 though, and even with 30 it might be better to add some co2 to the environment.. happy growing!

Macfly Day 44. The plant looks sickly, which I really don't like at all. We're still applying Calmag, but there are a lot of yellow leaves with brown spots on the underside of the plant. The leaves are curling, and the older ones are all dying... I really don't know what's happening because I have 3 more plants next to it that haven't had that kind of problem, receiving the same care, and they are much stronger and more vigorous.

Hello again friends! I really appreciate you all, but I wish I didn't have to be asking around here because that’s synonymous with bad news, problems, and worries. Something is happening to my plant and I'm not sure if the Calmag will be enough. What can you tell me?

@Bloombuster thanks for taking the time to respond! I'm using Auto Mix 2.0 from Cannabiogen, here’s the composition: Composition: Blonde peat, black peat, coco, perlite. Fertilization: Potassium (slow release), Pgmix 12/14/24 1.6 gr/lt. Recommendation: autoflowering plants. PH: 6. EC: 1.4. M.O: 68%. I've only added 2 doses of MicroVita and really because it seemed like there was a nitrogen deficiency since the leaves were a bit yellow compared to the first weeks. I've never seen a green color in my plants that could indicate excess nitrogen. Right now I can't check the EC😒. The rest of the plants received the same treatment as this one, including the MicroVita (1gr per liter in 2 doses). I bought a Co2 Pad, which is a bag that supposedly releases Co2, I'm quite doubtful about its effectiveness but I hope it contributes something. I'll follow your advice and increase the doses of BioBloom and Calmag. Should I already add Bi Bloombastic? Once again, thanks for your time and experience.💪

Hey, buddy! 👋 I’m curious, what’s the name of the manufacturer of your soil? What nitrogen content is listed on the package? It seems like it’s not the most expensive soil with high nitrogen content. You’ve been overdoing it with nitrogen since week 3 of growth, bro! You should have rinsed that soil at the beginning to remove the excess nitrogen before planting, checking the ppm output, then let the soil dry out and plant the seed. The most fatal mistake was the microVita additive you gave at week 6, 1ml/l. It has a lot of elements in its composition, including a lot of nitrogen and calcium. That’s when the worst started - blockage of all nutrients due to too much nitrogen in the plant tissues and in the soil! You decided to finally hit it with calcium (cal/mag) in week 7, which was sufficient that week in the Vita additive, 👆 Check your soil runoff after flushing, find out what the ppm is. Adjust it to 250ppm at a coefficient of 0.5 for ec! Make cal/mag 0.2ml/l Make Bloom 2ml/l Good luck with the recovery, but it’s a tough patient with such an early flowering phase! 👆

Macfly day 54. The plant is surviving, with fewer leaves each time but still alive. The flowers are growing, and although it won't be a big harvest, I just hope to make it to the harvest. Bi Bloombastic has been added to the menu along with Bud Candy, I'm watering with 700 ml of water. It seems that with fewer leaves it needs less water, even the watering has gone to every 3 days.

Macfly Day 58. The plant is continuing its course, with few leaves but enough! Watering 1L every 2 days, I've increased the dose of Bud Candy to 2ml and Bi Bloombastic to 1ml. The buds look hard and give off an incredible smell, fruity and sweet that invades your soul! It's a shame about the fungus that got in shortly after the flowering started since the harvest will be noticeably reduced, I'm posting some photos comparing it with other plants I have and the difference is very big, still, the smell of this plant is wonderful! Day 60. Still alive! The buds are not fattening up, not by a long shot, like they should, thanks to that damn fungus... Today I'm watering only with Bio Bloom 2ml and CalMag 1.5ml. Day 62. This plant smells delicious! Like a fruit gummy, incredible! Today we watered with 2ml of Bio Bloom, 1.5ml of CalMag, 1ml of Bi Bloombastic, and 2ml of Bud Candy. There's less and less time left, friends!

The smell has taken over the room, and if I open the door, it quickly spreads throughout the house! The smell of this plant is sweet, fruity, and spicy at the same time, I love it! I'm watering with 1L of water, 1.5ml of Cal Mag, and 2ml of Bio Bloom. Day 70. Practically all the trichomes are white, there are a few clear ones left, but very few. I'm watering with 1L of water, 1ml of Bi Bloombastic, 1.5ml of Cal Mag, 2ml of Bio Bloom, and 2ml of Bud Candy.

Macfly The plant developed very well from the start, very vigorous after the LST and handled the topping very well. Shortly after starting to flower, it caught a fungus that caused its development to stagnate from that moment on, and the flowering couldn't reach its maximum. Still, the result is very good for a plant that had this problem, 25 grams of pure quality. I will definitely grow Dark Devil auto again! Thank you very much to everyone who has visited this diary and contributed a bit of your wisdom and good humor!💪
