3 gallon SmartPot. 70% Happy Frog, 30% perlite.
The Mini Blueberry Project: I made a mini fabric pot from a reusable shopping bag that I got from my local grow shop. I started this seed about a week later, just for fun. I probably won't keep details about it here, and just focus on the main one.
Even though this will be my second grow, it feels very much like my first time. I started my first grow with a seed, some MiracleGro soil, and a solo cup. This time I have a proper light, soil, and air circulation inside of a tent from the beginning. I'm not confident about the light height, fan positions, or frequency of watering in the seedling stage. I hope that posting here will help others learn from my mistakes or successes! Thanks for checking out my Grow Diary!
Started week 4 General Hydroponics Flora (drain to waste) schedule.
Decreased light to 19/5. It seems like it's getting too much light and I can't move my light up any higher. I might go to 18/6 if it doesn't seem to improve over the next couple of days. Leaves feel dry and crispy.
The mini is doing great off to the side. Started it on Flora at 450ppm. 3.5" tall on day 20
Day 27: removed some of the larger fan leaves. Switching back to 20/4 light schedule.
Had a slight mishap with the LST. A small section broke off (I guess overnight?). I took this opportunity to try out the Radix rooting hormone (that I got for free with my HLG light).
I've been feeding the main Blueberry according to the GH Flora Series Drain-to-waste feeding schedule. Week 5, obviously.
I've been feeding the mini 750 ppm, but it still looks really pale. It's doing well, regardless. I'm going to keep increasing the dosage. I told myself that I was going to let this one do it's thing, and I've fought the temptation to LST and top it. It's growing about an inch taller every other day. Hopefully at some point the small pot size will stunt it and it'll stop stretching.
The big one hasn't been looking too great and I couldn't figure out what was going on. I recalibrated my pH meter and it was off by .56. So, my soil pH has been below 6. Obvious nute burn because I was really pushing it hard.
There's definitely some damage done, but hopefully it'll make it to harvest. I think what happened was that my pH meter was off from the beginning, which led me to think there was a nutrient deficiency, which led me to pump it full of nutes. Might upgrade my meter for next time.
I think I got my pH meter calibrated correctly. The browning on the upper leaves hasn't been spreading.
Removed LST ties. 10" to the tip of the tallest cola
Mini measures in at 13"
Getting close to harvest! Couple of amber trichomes on the big one. More brown pistils on the mini, but I don't see any amber yet.
Reapplied some LST to get more airflow through the buds. I shouldn't have taken it off and won't next time lol. Removed a little sample bud because it was crowding a larger one. Estimating a day 80 or 81 harvest
Cloudy trichomes, few amber for the most part looking at it through a loupe. The sample that I started drying has started to smell more spicy. Big one smells very much like grape popsicles, mini smells like straight skunk.
