New space New equipment New account Let's get growing! Its an all organic LED powered grow Currently full biobizz line but working towards a no till /ROLS The seed was free from Oaseeds It has been in the vault for about 1.5 years But has been stored properly for the majority of that so I expect it should be fine Seed went into a "root riot" root cube and straight into the 10L pot gave small sprinkle of water will update as progress shows

So far so good, a little smaller than some but happy, healthy, friendly Little lady. Started some light LST just staging her round with the weight of the string. the room had some changes made. The time was taken to create a basic tented doorway and install some reflective flooring using Mylar Oxford cloth backed with industrial Velcro and some white pvc for the floor. Unfortunately the zips didn't arrive. Had to make do without zips, it makes a fine stand-in doorway but will need to review it before flowering. VOCs and all that. The Lumatek has been running at 60% and Reading 35.c with the laser thermometer. After a lukewarm first impression of LEDs a few years ago have to say love this LED The cooler temps coupled with the efficiency makes it light-years ahead of the old Lumi 600w hps. There is still the need to add some extra fans but for now theirs just a single mini tower/desk fan. Thinking of switching this out for some USB clip-on fans it would make for better circulation. VOC levels need to be managed like anything else :)

Quite happy with her so far 😊 rooms a little warmer since the light has gone 24h. The change was mostly to assist in humidity, it was starting to drop when the light went off. Have also started running the Lumatek at 80% ( >60%) as temps were consistently fine. Possibly very early signs of a slight mag cal def in the leaves waiting for the missing nutrients to correct this. Hopefully its just some light mottling caused by the humidity swings. Either way Will include mag cal and bio heaven at the standard amounts as soon as they arrive and try to catch her early enough to avoid any serious issues. //mini update// mag call def 😰 waiting on mag cal arriving was hoping 😒 it would be sooner but not long now.....😕 hopefully ... Now The Bondage! String was rotated with light tension in quarters changing to the opposite side every 2 days for 8 the last days string was removed, she had mostly realigned and a little curvier. Some quick lazy tweezer work removed the bottom nodes and baby leaves //tweezers are pure barbarism, scalpel has been excavated from storage and reinstated as a result// so far serving her purpose as fun and easy way to dial in a new grow space.

Thankfully mag cal and bio heaven finally arrived on the scene this week so hopefully it catches the mag cal def early enough. Switched the light again, from 24 to 20/4 in the middle of the day in an attempt try to keep the humidity more stable. The humidity keeps dropping the low was apparently 28% RH but that sensor does seam a little out, it often misreads the temperature to be a higher value when checked against the laser thermometer. Probably because its black and in direct light so it absorbs heat, will try different placement. Due to humidity there hasn't been as much vertical growth as expected but thanks to some routine tucking of the upper leaves in the colas are getting bigger/stronger. Under ideal conditions the lower colas would have been removed at this stage... waiting to see how they recover from the mag cal and humidity issues before anything so bold as cutting. Although sparred the usual Barbary on account of her condition she has endured some gentle bruising. A light crushing to the main stem between 1st and 3rd branches and again some crushing and bending to the 1st and 2nd branches themselves. The environment is still under construction. In the next week it is being fitted with a more sophisticated Mylar doorway, 150 mm extraction fan and 2x USB clip-on fans. Hopefully the more advanced extraction system plus the circulation fans will reduce the temperature and humidity inconstancy. In the event that proves inadequate a humidifier will be added to combat low RH% stats.

She had some really wild humidity swings all through last week in order to combat this a 4" Hydrolab EC fan was installed and has been running at 75% so far the temps have been more stable. If the humidity had been more stable last week there would have been more vertical growth. she has a nice fairly even canopy not to mention an abundance of bud sites and a mild nice smell. So far this week started with light crushing to the colas and the addition of beneficial nematodes. so in the end she went in for some defole her fan leaves were swamping the shrub structure she had adopted. all was well until a lack of due care caused her to fall and break one arm completely, most disappointing. before the fall she was almost perfect and while she recovered fine/still looks beautiful it still has been a hard week for her. the heat has been unbelievable 25-27.c humidity was reaching 70% outside the grow space just the last few days of the week. in response they had some extra dark time just a few extra hrs on those days. she appeared to benefit from this high humidity low light and has made a fair recovery .

so other than being quite hot and humid it was quite a good week for bondage most of the branches tied down without complaint but some of the older lower branches required some support at the base as well as manual bending further up its essentially a lazy job of a supercrop she responded surprisingly well considering the stress the extra air movement must have outweighed the bondage no sooner than she was tied back did she start to fatten the bud sites beginning with the centre she initially had a classic Thai look to her but as the extra weight reached the outer branches she took on more of that swampy tropical/cheese look small room change the fan is now suspended from the ceiling as fixed to the wall generates to much vibration noise

<Buds Buds And More Buds> its been an interesting ride this lady sure has seen some amount of revisions to the space and endured some serious heatwaves but she has more than shown her worth. the seeds sell for about 2 euro at Oaseeds (although these came free with an order years ago) the smell is beautiful like a fresh apricot with some bassy earth and cheese undertones. the response she has given to her train considering it was a little late and she had suffered such an unfortunate accident is immensely impressive every single space is a cluster of sticky stinky baby nuglets all tied to frame almost in the shape of small ship. really very exited to see her doing so well this run was all about tuning the room to have nice stats but it looks like yield wont be over looked either thanks to the XXl genetics hopefully the effect meets the required standards 😋 on a side note the extraction was yet again redrafted (the perils of imperfect places) although temporary the extraction now makes use of a plumbers access point inside the space. extracted air is pushed into the wall and floor cavity although fairly effective the solution is not perfectly air tight. its temporary however soon a more advanced silent set up will be installed ....

well this girl just keeps it coming the buds swell a noticeable size difference every day. the smell is a little mild but still a fantastic fragrance, all fruity and bassy 😋. so she had a light defoliation at the start of the week and so far it has not slowed her down one bit. the main cola has started to tighten up and has an encouraging density to it the pistols are starting to turn to orange, hopefully she displays the xxl genes in the next 4 weeks. stay tuned for trichomes under the microscope.. (whenever it arrives)

what a fantastic terpene profile this girl it just keeps evolving and getting stronger with every watering.😁 so aside from her pungent peachy perfume she has some lovely bud structure and a decent amount of nuggs. defoliation has begun in full and will continue once a week until she gets clean water. trichomes were already mildly milky she will be run until medium amber to boos the cheese genetics and bring that classic heavy headstone. 😵

the quest for amber trichomes has begun she is being run slightly longer than the auto white widow hopefully she keeps developing, it certainly seams as each day passes the buds become denser going to keep her rolling the extra week and then review based on the results

based on the trichomes, she will stat to get clean water for a week now ... hopefully that lands the trichomes about 30% amber its been a long time coming and a fantastic ride particularly with this girl, her apricot manchego smell and solid almost leafless bud structure really are fantastic to behold. will have to stock up on these seeds as they are extremely cheep, make great room fillers or budget runs. really impressed by the genes for the price hope the smokes as nice as she was to grow...

Well Damn, she had some heavy, sticky, stinky, sturdy nugs. the structure of this plant is great the buds are compact and the leaves are easy to remove she handled humidity swings the hot and the cold just fine while the room was being optimised took slightly longer to finish ruining the 12 weeks in full but looked to be worth it with a visible frostiness and some dark purple notes not to mention a strong fruity cheese smell

sleepy good high kinda forgetful but not too confusing has a bassy cheese flavour with a light hint of sweet dried stone fruits (think dried apricots and mango) with some afghani style hash notes in the nose and throat visually pleasing psychedelic vibrant colours good meds nice body-load cbd content was good insane munchies occasional light paranoia that vague sense the neighbour can hear you talking or the fear that you forgot your keys only to find them in your pocket fortunately easy to dismiss has a comical outcome when combined with the slight memory loss, probably more of an evening strain more than an all day smoke the stronger end of mid strength for an Auto very good seeds will buy more

Hey man. I just wanna lick these leaves right now hahaha. Do you prefer 30% amber with all strains or does it change? plants look THICCCC though :)
Hemporio_Afghani
Hemporio_Afghanicommented4 years ago
@FlynnRyder, SSH is an easy one clues in the name super SILVER haze so like 90% milk 10% amber should look silver on the buds WHITE widow is another one where its in the name... with less obvious strains asking the breeder is never a bad idea although you don't always get answers... we are after all growing flowers so most families of varieties have similar characteristics ie amnesia haze was first bread by SOMA of SOMA seeds but i can buy an amnesia haze from dinafem or any number of other reputable seed firms and what i should get in the pack is dinafems take on what amnesia haze as a family should look like sometimes i to go to en.seedfinder.eu just to look at the genetic lineage of a plant and see what kind of families she is part of amnesia haze is usually a good stone high combo so say 30% amber 70% milk if i have a cross of amnesia haze with afghani number 1 id expect it to be more amber than the amnesia haze and milkier than the afghani sometimes we don't know the lineage or just aren't familiar with it in that case www.leafly.com it has an effects page for every strain, id tailor my approach to achieve to the effect im supposed to be aiming for ... in the end though it always comes down to asking the girl on hand herself sometimes i check trichomes and see little development after a certain point ie some plants just stop getting more milky or stop getting more amber and usually the bud swelling slows around this point i tend to run them for another 3-5 days after this stage has been reached to ensure a good terp profile hope my rambling helps a little

@Hemporio_Afghani, Thanks mate. So if I'm using an online breeder is there a way to acquire each genetic's preferred color notes so that I know for certain I am harvesting the plant at its peak time? I guess what I'm asking is that if I got my seeds from Rob at ILGM, I dont really see any guidance on when to harvest my SSH. Am I way off base though and confused or should I shoot the company an email and specifically ask what amber vs milky notes they recommend harvesting at?
Hemporio_Afghani
Hemporio_Afghanicommented4 years ago
@FlynnRyder, i try to match it to the expected high because that how the breeder intended it to be cut so like night train would be very amber becase cbd +cbn = sleepy high sour D would be all milky for that crippling high jack heir would be slightly clear 80% milk to give a clear and uplifted high but most strains i pick are the 30% amber for daytime and either all milk or more amber for night time use

@autoseedsman, it smells fantastic so fantastic! later their will be trichome photos, just need to get the scope out had peek with the loupe and it was beautiful. the anticipation of this girl is so high that the parent variety Mandarina auto is getting her own shot. 1 x Mandarina Auto by Oaseed went in to the cube today will add a diary so keep an eye out for her. 😇

How exactly your air filter works? I liked the idea, but I can't fully understand!
Hemporio_Afghani
Hemporio_Afghanicommented4 years ago
@Psilocubensis, diamond Mylar fabric for the walls easy to clean, very reflective helps with making it air tight. the floor is reflective and water proof also don't water too much no run off so no mess soon changing to nutrients in the soil so it can be automatic rain from the top using just clean water. having multiple generations of plant would be impossible if the nutrients are in the water as different ages have different needs using soil supplement and individual taps on each drip emitter all the ages can still live together Running auto-flowers means all ages get the same lighting so this room can give 2 plants harvest every month instead of 6 plants every 3 months.
Psilocubensis
Psilocubensiscommented4 years ago
@Hemporio_Afghani, I most point that white wall is better than mylar. First be cause you already have it on, for free, also mylar reflect 5% more, try searching for it. What I would do is to add saucer under the pots, so you can water from the base, or even from the top, but without messing around the ground!
Hemporio_Afghani
Hemporio_Afghanicommented4 years ago
@Psilocubensis, P.semilanceata is easy to find hard to forget 😅 feeding plants only with plants is an advanced magic indeed, perhaps we can learn from each other as we learn from them 😁 good you understand it now, soon the whole grow room is getting rebuilt with better extraction, new shelves, a rail to hang lights from and reflective walls.😎 when it is done you will get a link with lots of pictures 😊
