DiY Desfrán feminized COCO/COBLight

n0thingf4ce Hey community, I present to you my grow, it's three clones from a Desfrán mother from our friends at Dutch Passion (it's about a year old), this is the first week after the light cycle change. Besides the nutrients in the reservoir, I applied N, Ca, Mg, Fe, Si, and K as foliar feeding once this week. Let me tell you a bit about my setup, there are three pots in a 120x50cm tent fed by automatic watering (osmosis water + salts), the lighting consists of a module with five Citizen Clu048 1212 gen6 cri90 chips connected in series to a dimmable MeanWell HLG240H C1400A driver. n0thingf4ce Hello community, 11 days after the light cycle change, the plant entered pre-flowering. I've noticed signs of additional nutritional demand, so I applied 300 PPM of potassium silicate and 200 PPM of magnesium sulfate foliarly. This is an apically dominant plant that is growing wild; I keep relocating branches under the SCROG, and there are still several weeks of stretching left. See you soon!

n0thingf4ce Hello community, this week the plant has stretched 4", they have started to form pre-flowers but still don't show pistils. As soon as the flowering begins, I will start uploading detailed photos. I applied potassium silicate at 300 PPM.

n0thingf4ce Hey community, the calyxes finally showed pistils, they're small, but they're everywhere! So I added sugars to the nutrient solution and applied potassium silicate at 300 PPM foliar, the plant grew 5" this week, I hope to see it grow a lot more over the next few weeks. Cheers!

n0thingf4ce Hello community; during this week the plant grew 6" more, which flatters me as much as it offends me, since I'm starting to run short on height. I did super cropping on the tips, applied 300PPM of magnesium sulfate foliar, four days later I applied 300PPM of potassium silicate, I also made adjustments to the light, increased the power by about 20%, and at the same time raised the calcium and magnesium in the nutrient solution to prevent possible deficiencies. I also pruned all the leaves under the scrog, now there is better air distribution. I hope that during these weeks the stretching gradually stops, I hope. Until next week!

n0thingf4ce Hello everyone, day 18 of flowering, this week there was a stretch of 10" so I applied HST, the plant responded quite well, after two hours it had already rotated its leaves and the apex was pointing towards the light. The calyxes are developing so I stopped the foliar watering, I've started to notice less light penetration, I'm beginning to wonder if I should do a defoliation, should I?

n0thingf4ce Hello everyone, day 25 of flowering, the plant has finally started to stop its stretching, the internodal distance has reduced, this week it grew 4" less than the previous week, along with this the pistils have started to grow little by little, although new calyxes are still appearing. Since the defoliation, necrotic areas have begun to appear on the old leaves that are near the light, so I slightly increased the nutrient content in the water, anyway the plant has shown excellent recovery so far this week. I hope that during the next week the fattening begins, there's no more space left and I would prefer not to have to do any more pruning. See you soon!

n0thingf4ce Hello everyone, day 32 of flowering, the plant has grown 4" this week and the buds started to fatten up. I've done some minor pruning to improve light penetration and HST to keep some branches under the light (although it's getting harder each time). I lowered the base nutrients to decrease nitrogen intake and along with this, I'm gradually adding phosphorus and potassium. This week there's news, I got a sports camera and started recording timelapse videos, it's my first time doing it so be patient, they'll improve little by little. Until next time!

n0thingf4ce Hello everyone, the fattening period has finally started, it's been 3 days since the plant stopped stretching, this week I increased the PK dose to 0.7 ml/l, I adjusted a couple of branches to keep them under the light, the buds are already packed with trichomes (attached photos), next week we should be seeing better-formed buds, I need to start thinking about keeping the humidity in check, I've noticed stress spots in areas with more light, the plant is consuming more water so I increased the amount of daily waterings (170ml every 3 hours). n0thingf4ce Hello everyone, day 46 of flowering, we are entering the final stage of flowering (there should be 3 or 4 weeks left of flowering), light burn has started to show in several areas of the plant so I lowered the light intensity by 15% and added silica to the nutrient mix. I'm wondering if I need to increase the calcium, the buds have started to gain weight, soon I should add supports to prevent the branches from falling. Next week I will start to gradually lower the salinity. Cheers!

n0thingf4ce Hello everyone, this week I removed the silicate and the PK from the nutrient solution, plus I changed the irrigation system to provide more water to the plants. The flowers started to fatten up slowly, it seems there's still a long way to go until harvest. Cheers!

n0thingf4ce Hello everyone, day 60 of flowering, the lack of water during the daytime last week may have caused some dead roots, so this week I added humic and fulvic acid to the nutrient solution and also my new acquisition, Mammoth P, which adds microorganisms to the medium. We'll see if there's any noticeable reaction in the remainder of the process. There won't be a timelapse update this week since my camera's memory died along with the photos from the entire week, but that's already resolved, there will be more starting next week.

n0thingf4ce Hello everyone, day 67 of flowering and I'm already gradually reducing the nutrients. Apparently, the recorder I installed for the timelapse caused a sleep disorder in the plants. I started noticing vegetative branches and general stretching since the week before last. I hope this doesn't cause too much loss in production. I covered the recorder's diodes with aluminum, although it still lets out a small beam of light. Anyway, in the last week those branches started to develop flowers, so I assume the problem is resolved. There's still a lot of work to do, cheers!

n0thingf4ce Hello everyone, day 81 of flowering, in the last weeks before the harvest, the first amber-colored trichomes are already visible, the plant is showing signs of nutrient depletion, there's a natural fading in the green tone of the leaves, with no necrotic areas except for the burns on the leaves closest to the light. From here on, there's not much work left to do, just observing and repositioning the branches that are falling due to the weight. Until next week!

n0thingf4ce Hey everyone, day 88 of flowering, I’m still keeping up with the routine, I’m going to keep the watering at 0.9 ec until harvest day, which is getting closer every day. Multiple amber-colored trichomes have formed, and I wonder if it would be better to harvest the plant in parts to make the most of the lower half of the plant. See you next week!

n0thingf4ce Hello everyone. Day 109 of flowering, I lowered the light intensity this week to relieve the plant's stress, reduced from 230w to 175w, the rest has been continuing with the routine, amber trichomes haven't appeared yet but most are already white, I estimate one to two weeks to finish.

n0thingf4ce A very difficult plant to control in an indoor environment, it consumes water above average, grows until late in its flowering, and is sensitive to changes in its routine. On the other hand, it is an adaptive plant that withstands dehydration, extreme heat, and cold. The inflorescence produces abundant trichomes on airy and elongated tails, resembling wheat, which produce buds shaped like clusters, with an aroma of tropical fruits and lemon. I have had a very good experience growing this plant.
