Hey Growmie, With an active intake system, you will place an additional inline fan at the bottom of your tent to pull in fresh air through an intake port. An active intake system usually isn't needed unless you have a very large tent, or you are a serious grower wanting to create the best environment possible for your plants. Hopefully, I answered your question and remember ..."Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time"

Heat, humidity, CO2, odor and wind stress can indeed be taken care of in other ways. Air quality on the other hand might become a challenge. For small recreational environments it is not necessary and despite of that it could be usefull at later stages, let me explain further. Your Softbox 550 should normally be reducing the sound, potentially you are running it on max performance, which might not be necessary. Based on some of the dimensions given by you, I assume you need around 36 cubic meter minute = 1 * 1.2 * 2 * 60 / 4, which is not that much (I assume 2m height, divide by 4 as refresh rate is only needed once every 15 minutes). So your system of 500m3 there only needs to run at 5-10% at max. Depending on the location of your tent, the climate control could be easier to maintain with the system during hot summer days. It can also become really usefull for small areas once your plants hits the budding, flowering and ripening phase, as I noticed for my own growths that these are the phases where the tent moisture levels rise the most. Some additional tips: - Keep in mind that the air intake fan should only have one quarter of the strength of your extractor fan - In your case it would be good for temperature control for your HID lamp(s) lifespan as well - If stealth grow is the main issue, consider using timers to run during daytime only, rubber pads to catch annoying vibrations, additional acoustic foam, etc. Have fun and enjoy your growths!

If you have a small grow tent and you are able to keep your temperatures at the desired range for the plants- you should be fine with passive air intake through the vent holes provided by the tent. An intake fan is usually recommended in a larger space to ensure adequate fresh air circulation and ease the burden on the exhaust fan itself. It’s tough on the exhaust system if it has to pull the air through a large area, across and throughout the plants and then up and out the other side. If you use only passive air intake through the vents- when you turn on your exhaust fan, you should create a small amount of negative pressure thus causing the walls of your tent to suck in a tiny bit. If you’ve got that, your passive air intake system is working well and your plants will be happier for it! Good luck and all the best growing forward! 🇨🇦

Nah m8, i would kerp them, those big leaves are the ones providing the most energy to the plant. If you ever need to take any, it better be covering a bug bud site.

If you just finished fimming let em recover first, if not its up to when you want to switch them, only you know ur vertical and lateral available space, gotta make sure they all fit, if u got too much space just let em grow as much as possible to maximize yields.
