Hey everyone! This is my first grow.. Ever. I may have grown a bean plant in 6th year but I'm pretty sure I killed it. I can use and would appreciate any advice or tips offered. Chose this strain cos it seems to be the most useful for my lifestyle. I'm looking forward to a good run. Cheers!

Rearranging my post schedule. Been about 4 days since my last update. She is coming along well. Saw a gnat outside the room and realized I had my soil there. Relocated the extra soil and made a weak spray with some of the wife's essential oils to deter the little buggers. Top of the soil is staying dry and there is a fan oscillating as well, so I'm not too worried. Got a new light and ph/moisture/light meter yesterday. 1000w led with full spectrum. Think I started it a little too close at 24". Meter read 500w at plant level (not sure I trust it), but I still think it's too close and may be starting to burn. I'll move it to 36" this evening. I noticed a very slight yellowing on the leaf veins. Is this normal? Getting ready to start week 3 and I've just been doing water. No nutrients added because the soil I started with was the fox farm happy frog potting soil and it was already pretty nutrient rich. The new meter is showing a variance of 6-7 soil ph depending on moisture. The tap water I've been adding is room temp with a 6.2ph so I'm guessing it isn't a ph lock. Thinking it may just be time to start adding the nutrients now. Especially with the new light. Speaking of which, I was able to pick up Emerald Harvest 3 part nutrients. Has anyone here tried them? Based on my research they seem to be quite good. I'd love to hear everyone's feedback. Happy Growing! KCCO

Morning all! Agnes is growing exponentially! I attribute a lot of that to the Emerald Harvest base nutrients I've started. Nothing heavy and slightly confusing at first as I'm only watering a qt at a time and am required to math it up. I've been using my own (more precise) mL measuring system after I noticed the markings on the caps for their nutes were way off. (Maybe it's for something else, or left over from the detergent company they buy the lids from, who knows.) Noticed a few malformations/discolorations as she has started to grow. I suspect some is nutrient, or ph, related, but my larger concern is root related. As the plant is young and the stalk hasn't filled out yet I'm not sure how to go about inspecting the roots. We did have a little trouble in the beginning with the plant not wanting to shed its seed coat, so with a little help, I was able to gently free the cotyledons and start the growth. So it may be a genetics issue. But where I'm headed is a 2 parter: 1.) The effects of a diluted hydrogen peroxide mix for increasing O2 exposure to the roots. 2.) Combating nutrient loss with foliar feeding. Otherwise everything is going great. Viable new growth daily, no signs of gnats or mites or molds. May be a little behind projected schedule but still Killin the game. Happy Growing! KCSO

Started low stress today to give light room for the nodes. Growth is good! Not sure about the tie down placement. It seems like a good choice to use due to the large padded area. Figured I'd let the plant decide which way to go. Still waiting on EmeraldHarvest to get back to me on their foliar mixture opinions. Otherwise I'm happy! I'll update again midweek. Cheers! KCSO

It was a good week. LST went right, so I removed the conflicting ties. Also watered in the am 3/14, then topped that evening. New supplements arrived this week. Did notice a bit of puffy claw on Wed, so that was a nute free watering. I did water yesterday with my new supplements. Suspect I'll have to alter my nute feeding schedule a bit to adapt for soil. A lot of new nodes popping up. Getting excited now! I'll probably update again mid week. Happy Growing!

Another good week. The smell is getting pretty strong. I'm not growing in a tent, so a carbon filter isn't an option. Placed some Odor removing gels in the adjacent room (not close to Agnes) and it is working well. Noticed a little bit of light green showing on the new growth. Suspect a little iron deficiency. Adjusted my nute regiment to lower my nitrogen and a slight increase in iron. Based on Emerald Harvest feeding schedule, it appears I should be transitioning soonish. I'll prolly keep adapting to what the plant tells me to do and play it by ear. Have been doing a bit of foliar testing. Super weak amounts of nutes (1/16th) and it seems to be going well. I have been treating Agnes in the morning right after lights on. Based on my research this is supposed to be the right time as the stoma on the leaves begin to open. The concern being light burn due to magnification. I've read both suggestions and I'm not sure which are correct, other than feeding during mid light cycle is incorrect. If you have any advice, I'd love to hear. Also ppm/temp/ec (ecc ;)) meter is en route Happy Growing! KCCO

Another good week. Sorry about the delay, Easter Sunday came first. I was also waiting on a few new supplies. Got the new 5 gal smart bag so I transplanted and trimmed off the bottom most foliage. It was yellowing and the oldest. Maybe 6 leaves in total. Nothing big, but I figured it was better to remove then to try and save. Decided to transplant because I saw the smallest of roots poking through the bottom of the 3 gal. Smart bag. Root mass was about the size of a size 2 football (soccer). Color was nice and white. New EC/ppm meter arrived so I did a little learning up on that. It says I'm in the green zone based on my research. Maybe I should clarify my watering regiment. I'm at the stage of full veg, so I'm giving the plant approximately 1/2g or 2ish l of tap water at about 70-72 degrees. Starting ppm is 0.2, ec is 0.5, and pH is ~7.3. I cut the recommended dosage in half starting out with my micro and then agitate and add the rest, agitating in between each addition. I then check all of my readings again to make sure I'm within spec, then adjust my pH. The reason I do my pH last is because I have a potassium silicate supplement that raises my pH. I do this once a week and then the rest of the week is just pH corrected water. I have been doing a foliar feeding experiment that seems to be going well. 1/16 diluted micro and grow supplements with the pH at 5.8. It's quite an arduous ritual actually, but I enjoy it. Got a new micro usb microscope on the way, so I'm pretty excited about that. I'll update mid week hopefully. Cheers and Happy Growing! KCCO

Hey all! I'm heading into the last week's of veg. Watering with 6.2 pH water these past few times in an attempt to remove excess nitrogen from grow. I'll start my transition feeding with a nice fresh balance on my nutrient regiment. Got a microscope for my phone. It's pretty cool. Not too much to report. Have a good week everyone! Happy Growing

Fairly uneventful week. Smell is getting stronger. Earthy and piney. Defoliated the lowest leaves and she seems to have taken it well. She was drinking quite a bit these past few weeks, but seems to be tapering off a bit. Dialed back the nutes and water to about 1/2 gal on watering. I have to say, I love these smart pots. The excess runoff helps quell my paranoia of over watering. Her new growth seems to be getting stronger. A couple times I've noticed that the LST hold downs have come loose and I have to resecure them. I'm not doing much in the way of ties. I picked up some perma-twistex from work and they are wonderful. Rolled down the lip of the smart pot and anchored to it. Maybe the fabric is too soft. Either way she should be growing into the screen soon. Summer is kicking off here and my location is quite close to the water front. Humidity is getting higher, especially on warmer days. I was looking into a small renewable dehumidifier to help regulate. Anyone have any expirence with them? I'm running a/c throughout the house so temp is good, and excessive humidity is in check, just concerned about needing to drop the % as bloom kicks off. Maybe that's why she's drinking less... Hmm. Have a good week and I hope all is going well. Next weekend is going to be hectic, but I'll try to make a small post. Happy Growing! Cheers!

Flower has officially started. Confirmed female. Not too much to report. Nutrient regiment has switched as well as watering quantity. Doing approximately 3/4 a gallon with 3/4 value nutrients 2-3 times a week now with regular ph'd water in between feedings. She seems quite happy. Had a brief scare as I went out of town for a couple days and she got a little thirsty, but perked up immediately with a little water. Otherwise it's been smooth. Have a good week everyone! Happy Growing. CHEERS!

Very good week for both Agnes and I. New King Kola supplement arrived as a birthday gift for me, so thats exciting. Also stopped using the nitrogen heavy grow nutes. She is drinking a lot. I am watering 3-4 times a week at 1/2 gal. And alternating nutrient waterings. She seems happy and is responding well. Added some microscope photos as well. It seems to work nicely and uses a micro-usb so it can be operated through my phone. Hope everyone has a stellar week and happy growing! KCCO

Was a good week again. Smell is getting stronger. Started uping night temps and keeping day at upper 70s. Still drinking a lot, but smell and leaf condition say she is happy. Buds are beginning to develop. Getting thicc. I'm starting to get excited. I'm kicking myself for not taking any clones. Oh well. Hope everyone's week goes smoothly. Happy growing! Kcco

Slight hiccup this week. Ended up having to go out of town for an entire day when I was expecting to be home for feeding and to regulate temp better. Temps hit 91f for about 6hrs and when I arrived Agnes looked exhausted. I felt like a terrible person, so I spent some quality time hanging out with her and nursing her back to health (even read her some of the excerpts from people on GD) She recovered amazingly well and quickly to boot. Her trichromes are starting to show signs of clouding so I'm dialing back her nutes, raising her pH just a touch and lettering her free of her lst. Buds are looking nice and dense and the smell is quite sweet. Hope everyone has a great week. Happy Growing!

Happy Harvest Day!

There have been a lot of mistakes that I've made along the way. Over feeding, under watering. Not watching my temps. Through it all Agnes has still flourished. Her smell is soooo strong. Sweet, herbal seaweed (nori?), citrus, and CUCUMBER! Whoa sweet. I did sample a clipping to see where the bitterness was, mostly watery with some peppery bite at the end. I'm very surprised as I completely misjudged my time line for harvest and decided on doing it now due to cloudy trichomes and some Amber's starting to form. Still I think I'm going to have to cure for a bit. Her smoke is smooth as velvet. My wife says she tasted chocolate chip pancakes. Not sure I got that (though I wish I did!) but definitely light citrus and cucumber and seaweed. The high hits you like flood waters on the inland. You don't really feel it coming on, creeps upward slowly without notice, and then all of the sudden it's there and you can help but see the way it effects everything around you. After about 15 minutes my body was buzzing and within 25 minutes my arthritis pain had disapated. It wasn't so much that it wasn't there, but my stress and anxiety towards it didn't matter. It didn't hurt to use my hands and the inflammation went down. It's the best I've felt in a long time. If I can leave one impression on everyone, it is this: I work a 10 hr day as a mechanic. My body hurts when I get home and i was looking for an outlet. I don't like losing my mental faculties, so I had avoided pot for a long time. This strain is perfect. The relief it provides is exactly what I needed to unwind in a healthy way while still being able to function on chores and day to day tasks. Last but mostly best, it makes me so Flippin' happy. If you haven't tried it, it is a must. A must in the same way that seeing fireflys in the summer is a must. Thank you so much to Barney's Farm for making my life better, xo.

You're giving her way to much nutes, she's in veg and you're giving her more than a full dose of veg. nutrients and then some extra bloom nutes, although there's no bud in sight :/ sometimes, less is more ;)

@Jaindoh, I had an idea with this floss. It is padded for 90% of its length with foam to keep from cutting your fingers so it's super soft. It's also stretchy so it doesn't get too tight. Cool stuff. I'm not sure how effective it'll be, but I thought I'd give it a go

@ValleoGrow, It was the first one I was looking for actually. I came to the conclusion that it was a clone only strain and getting seeds for it were next to impossible. After a little more research I stumbled across CBD Critical Cure, and with the reviews, smoke reports, journals etc, it seemed to be exactly what I needed. I have to say, it really is exactly what I needed. I have recommended it to everyone around me.

@Horantu, Hey i’ve done some research myself on some strain with good medical values, bacause i really Want to grow and make products in the future, ive Ready about a strain called Harlequin which is a sativa dominant that has almost a constant 5:2 cbd - thc ratio and therefore gives a clearheaded stimulering high, that not only cuts the paranoia/anxiety that weed sometimes gives but also adds the strains painkilling and restorative abilities, sorry for my english, and btw Nice grow, and good luck in the future!

@Horantu, tbh i dont trust soil moisture meters, your mileage may vary gotta lift the bag for weight enough times to get a feel for it and use the inch/knuckle system on top of that its a hassle till you get used to it
Horantu
Horantucommented7 years ago
@Jaindoh, I've been doing the finger dampness method of determining the appropriate time to water. It was a little dry on top but the soil 1/8" down was still damp. Not sure it this is the most accurate way to measure. I raised the light ~3" and I'll water it this evening when I get home. Soil moisture meter is on the way.

Hi bro! happy growin like your setup. i,m want to change my nutes on emerald harvest, want to hear from you what you think about tham? i,m using advecide nutrient now, thay are good but think emerald is better. any suggesstion?
Horantu
Horantucommented7 years ago
@Weedeep, I like them quite a bit. I realize they are engineered for a dwc setup, but was able to adjust the ratios a bit to work well with soil. I can't tell you if they are better or worse than their competitors, as I have never grown before, but I will say they do a great job! Maybe if you're looking to change, do a little research into nute providers based on the growing medium you are going to use, and then decide. Happy Growing!

I think you will really like foliar feeding, though I haven't done it with your brand of nutes; I was really surprised how well mine like it. I mix baby-food strength of the actual nutes, and then the label reccomendation for foliar feeding for both potassium silicat and rhizotonic. Not sure if you have an equivalent, but the rhizotonic is marine algae for root growth. Potassium silicate makes them grow larger and hardier... they both absorb great foliar and are a big part of my seedling phase.
