Fairly uneventful week. Smell is getting stronger. Earthy and piney. Defoliated the lowest leaves and she seems to have taken it well. She was drinking quite a bit these past few weeks, but seems to be tapering off a bit. Dialed back the nutes and water to about 1/2 gal on watering. I have to say, I love these smart pots. The excess runoff helps quell my paranoia of over watering.
Her new growth seems to be getting stronger. A couple times I've noticed that the LST hold downs have come loose and I have to resecure them. I'm not doing much in the way of ties. I picked up some perma-twistex from work and they are wonderful. Rolled down the lip of the smart pot and anchored to it. Maybe the fabric is too soft. Either way she should be growing into the screen soon.
Summer is kicking off here and my location is quite close to the water front. Humidity is getting higher, especially on warmer days. I was looking into a small renewable dehumidifier to help regulate. Anyone have any expirence with them? I'm running a/c throughout the house so temp is good, and excessive humidity is in check, just concerned about needing to drop the % as bloom kicks off. Maybe that's why she's drinking less... Hmm.
Have a good week and I hope all is going well. Next weekend is going to be hectic, but I'll try to make a small post.
Happy Growing! Cheers!
You're giving her way to much nutes, she's in veg and you're giving her more than a full dose of veg. nutrients and then some extra bloom nutes, although there's no bud in sight :/ sometimes, less is more ;)
@Jaindoh, I had an idea with this floss. It is padded for 90% of its length with foam to keep from cutting your fingers so it's super soft. It's also stretchy so it doesn't get too tight. Cool stuff. I'm not sure how effective it'll be, but I thought I'd give it a go
@ValleoGrow, It was the first one I was looking for actually. I came to the conclusion that it was a clone only strain and getting seeds for it were next to impossible. After a little more research I stumbled across CBD Critical Cure, and with the reviews, smoke reports, journals etc, it seemed to be exactly what I needed. I have to say, it really is exactly what I needed. I have recommended it to everyone around me.
@Horantu, Hey i’ve done some research myself on some strain with good medical values, bacause i really Want to grow and make products in the future, ive Ready about a strain called Harlequin which is a sativa dominant that has almost a constant 5:2 cbd - thc ratio and therefore gives a clearheaded stimulering high, that not only cuts the paranoia/anxiety that weed sometimes gives but also adds the strains painkilling and restorative abilities, sorry for my english, and btw Nice grow, and good luck in the future!
@Skill_Murray, nah, I'm just using my phone camera. It does the job and can render HD. But when it comes to photos, they are light-years ahead of me. I wish tho. That'd be cool as af. Maybe in some future grows.
@somnabull, Thanks! Not sure if it's because I'm new to growing or because I'm an overprotective nerd, but I enjoy going home to see the progress. Especially as of late, watching her transformation during the change to the flowering cycle. It certainly makes going to work harder.
Looks good to go, soil appears to be dry on top for oxygen and everything.
Liked and followed! Let us know if you have any questions; even if I can't answer them -- or miss a detail, etc -- someone else hopefully can!
@Horantu, tbh i dont trust soil moisture meters, your mileage may vary
gotta lift the bag for weight enough times to get a feel for it and use the inch/knuckle system on top of that
its a hassle till you get used to it
@Jaindoh, I've been doing the finger dampness method of determining the appropriate time to water. It was a little dry on top but the soil 1/8" down was still damp. Not sure it this is the most accurate way to measure. I raised the light ~3" and I'll water it this evening when I get home. Soil moisture meter is on the way.
Hi bro! happy growin like your setup. i,m want to change my nutes on emerald harvest, want to hear from you what you think about tham? i,m using advecide nutrient now, thay are good but think emerald is better. any suggesstion?
@Weedeep, I like them quite a bit. I realize they are engineered for a dwc setup, but was able to adjust the ratios a bit to work well with soil. I can't tell you if they are better or worse than their competitors, as I have never grown before, but I will say they do a great job! Maybe if you're looking to change, do a little research into nute providers based on the growing medium you are going to use, and then decide. Happy Growing!
I think you will really like foliar feeding, though I haven't done it with your brand of nutes; I was really surprised how well mine like it.
I mix baby-food strength of the actual nutes, and then the label reccomendation for foliar feeding for both potassium silicat and rhizotonic.
Not sure if you have an equivalent, but the rhizotonic is marine algae for root growth. Potassium silicate makes them grow larger and hardier... they both absorb great foliar and are a big part of my seedling phase.
