Not too much different this week. Just watering as needed - usually once a day. Then they are a little larger I’ll probably slow that down and let them dry out a little to try to get the roots as deep as possible.
It is really cold here this week (-37c this morning) so the garage is feels dryer and cooler than usual. I bumped up the garage heater to 22c to keep the gals a little warmer.
I added a couple lights to try getting the most I can out of these gals. I am also trying my hand at LST for the first time ever. Just on plant #2 though. I am curious to see the difference between the two.
These gals are currently 10' - 11' tall (shorter than I would have expected, (but... I have never grown Candy Cane Auto's before so not sure how tall they get anyway). I top-dressed with some worm castings this week and I am still just watering as needed.
They look like they're getting close to done to me, But they should have another 2 or 3 weeks to go. I guess I'll keep a close eye on them in the coming days.
I still can't believe how small these gals are at only 9 and 10 inches tall. Not sure if this is a normal height for auto's or not. On the plus side, I think the buds are some of the largest I've grown in my short time doing this.
First smoke of this stuff was good. It's got a sour / fruity smell to it (which I like). The trip was relaxing and it helped me sleep. I tend to get dry mouth pretty bad, but I didn't notice it with this Candy Cane at all.
Despite their short stature, I was a little surprised by the yield. I thought both plants produced reasonable amounts of bud even with my mistakes. Plant 1 had some seeds in it, which I will attribute to the stress of being too hot for a couple days. Live and learn... I'll do better next time. :-)
