A couple of leaves forming strangely but everything looks healthy otherwise. Buried the stretched out stems in soaked hydroton pebbles in the little pots and a little breeze from the fan is toughening their little stems right up.
Some crispiness developing on the edges of a few. Was quite hot when reporting and they were a bit stressed by the transition. Could be too many nutrients / need to add CalMag but won't have it til Friday so they'll just have to hang on ... Will lower water ppm.
It was not a great week post-transplant. A lot of trying to stabilize PH, humidity, and nutrients. One outgrew the other three which took a bigger dip but they all look better every day now. I've finally got a look at the roots coming out of the net pot though! So I think they'll really take off now. Too many pebbles to push through? Not sure if a smaller net pot wouldn't do the same job but let the roots reach the solution sooner.
A super week with all the plants coming back strong after their sad beginning! The two in the back are growing a bit faster than the ones on the front, so I moved the lamp forward to see if that was the issue. All four plants have been topped and the new main stems were bent downwards. Increased the nutrients to 900-1000 ppm when the new growth was looking a little yellow.
Lots of great growth, trimmed and removed side branches for clones and straightened out some of the main branches. Raised nutrient level and the roots looks great, nice white and starting to fill up the buckets!
Removing side shoots and seeing nice strong branches develop. Removing growth below 6" from the container, and running a fan right under the
top canopyy to increase circulation of cool air.
Topping one more time because they were getting tooooo tall also added a net to space and bend them more easily, and hold future weight. Hey happy with their size and health so will let them recover for a week and then change the light cycle for bloom!!
Okay I gave them ONE MORE week and really trimmed them up before changing the light timer on Day 56 (Oct 8th). Mostly just had a lot going on but the extra time won't hurt, they're getting very strong! I did snap a branch a few days ago though, oops
Right before switching the light cycle, I emptied/rinsed and refilled the reservoirs and added a mix of veg/bloom nutrients as they transition to flowering. Really healthy even green canopy, definitely seeing some accelerated growth this wee. I raised the lights so they remained the right distance from the plants. I hope they don't get tooooo tall!
The week of the election was hard on all of us. In my anxiety the plants suffered slight neglect and ended up with out of balance and PPM.. had also just bent some branches and lo and behold I find. A pollen sack. I painstakingly remove each for a week and put it back in the tent, but find a pollen sack on another plant. Luckily, no more appear to have grown since I got them back into optimal conditions, but there's definitely some seedy buds now... Hopefully it's only part of the crop that's affected and we can just pick the seeds out...
Just leaving them alone as much as possible. The hermie plant has reverted and is producing some weird little flower buds with half formed pollen bits in a calyx with pistils. I'm not complaining! I think maybe 1/3 of the plants will be pretty seedy though, from starting to break a few open to check.
Trying to just keep things the same while also defoliating to get some of the bottom buds to start maturing more quickly... Lots of lower buds still putting out white pistils while the top colas look more and more ready.
Watching those buds grow! Adding signal but trying not to overdo the nutrients, they're are kind of finicky about that! Otherwise they continue to be pretty easy to maintain...
Three of the four plants have turned purple over the last couple of weeks. Initially the actual buds and sugar leaves darken and turn purple, now seeing the leaves turn too. Seems like it happens sometimes to SLH. Pretty cool!
These pictures show the difference between the green plant and the purple ones. They look like they're close to ready, but going to wait a few more days, maybe a week, before flushing and harvesting the furthest along branches. Will definitely need to harvest in to two phases.
This was a lot of fun, my first real grow from seed to flower and first time using hydroponics. Love not having to water the plants, I can "set it and forget it" to some extent. Final product was strong, smooth and better than local dispensary stuff. Can't wait to do it again!
