I had this seed in the fridge since more than 2 years and now wanted to give it a try. Amazing to see how healthy it still is. So far Sensi Seeds has never disappointed.
Her first week is over. No problems so far. Sorry for the blurry photos; the camera always wants to focus on the soil when plants are still that tiny, and I cannot persuade it to behave differently. This will get better once they are bigger.
Looking good. Absolutely healthy. Perfect green color. I'm still working on my watering regime. Last grow I gave too much water, so I'm carefully trying to avoid this mistake in this grow.
Day 21. She is growing perfectly. Again I overwatered, so I did not water her for two days in a row. Never did that before, but I think I'm starting to understand the difference between humidity, moisture and wetness 😄
Day 28. Great explosive growth this week. The Afghani has very olive dark green colors and I noticed that this plant needs much less water than the other ones. Nothing to complain.
Day 35. The Afghani is a little bit behind the others, but it is also starting to flower. Once again the tent looks very crowded, I wonder how I could ever grow four plants in this space. Maybe they are filling out all the available space, so I could go with only two ladies in the next run
Day 42. This week the Afghani performed her stretch. She is shorter than the other two, but very sturdy. I placed her onto a shelf to get a more even canopy. Removed a few leaves, but not really defoliation.
Day 49. The Afghan lady has completed her stretch and is in full flower now. She is a bit behind the others, but she did not waste the time, but grew a lot of nice branches. She is the shortest plant I've grown so far, but she is massive and sturdy and is looking very promising. Only a bit too many leaves, but as healthy as it can be.
Day 56. The Afghani is the slowest one, but she is not wasting the time, but growing budsites nicely. I think she will end up much more impressive than Shiva.
Day 63. The Afghani is catching up. Buds are nicely swelling. She is the slowest one, so she still has some time to grow flowers. Once again I'm seeing those brown spots that look like some sort of deficiency. But I do not think there is any lack of nutrients, so maybe the light is just too strong so the roots cannot uptake the amount of stuff she needs. Maybe next grow I will experiment with some foliar feeding.
Day 70. The Afghani is doing mostly fine, I just see the problems on the leaves again. At first sight it looks like some deficiency, but since mostly the upper leaves are affected, I'm beginning to suspect it might be too much light. I'm using more light than recommended by the manufacturer anyway and I'm keeping the lights very close, maybe too close. So in my next grow I will follow the recommendations and see if this makes a difference. Apart from that, very nice grow. Looking forward to the end result. Probably two more weeks to go.
The Afghani is doing her thing, she is also mostly ready. Will be harvested as soon as Jackie is dry. The smell from this plant is quite weak, apparently 80% of the incredible smell came from Shiva. After increasing the light distance, the degradation of the leaves seems to have stopped, so for now I'm assuming this issue is caused by too much light. Will focus on this in my next grow.
The Afghan lady has been harvested on day 81. I was surprised by the size and density of the buds. Did expect her to provide the smallest harvest, but now it could be the biggest from this grow. With lights off, temperatures are down below 20°C and RH has risen to more than 50%, so there will not be this turbo drying I hate so much because it can spoil the whole aroma. I would need a separate dry room for this purpose.
Cannot wait to test her...
Wow! This is how cannabis is supposed to taste! My first full 10 stars rating.
The grow was a pleasure and the yield was fantastic. After less then a week of curing the aroma is already next to perfect. It is the pure, honest taste you would expect from a hash plant.
The effect is solid, but not overwhelming. It allows for smoking an extra joint in the evening without feeling groggy the next day. It is mostly relaxing and uplifting, makes you feel peaceful and happy with the world. And it does not make me sleepy at all. Can probably be smoked during day without problems.
If you want to taste the real thing, grow this strain!
The Afghan lady surprised me. I expected the smallest harvest of the grow from her, but she provided exactly the same amount as Jackie.
For the first time I was happy with the drying. With the lights out, temperatures dropped to 19°C and RH was higher, between 50 and 60%. So it took almost complete 7 days before there was no weight loss anymore and I could put them into jars.
The first puff was absolutely convincing! And I'm sure it will even improve in the next weeks and months. I can imagine how she will taste around christmas and I'm looking forward to it.
Overall, this was a very successful run. Thanks to all who followed it. Stay healthy and happy growing!
@JinksyGrows, definitely. I'm in love with her scent and today I will finally have the chance to test her. Will update with final numbers and smoke report in the next days.
