First attempt at monster cropping. This is the cutting from a Granddaddy Purple (from homegrown cannabis co) that was in week 5 of flower. After 2 weeks in water and dipped in root hormone it rooted and i put it in fox Farm ocean forest soil, so this will be its first week. Not giving it any nutrients right now while it esablishes roots. Mongo will be its name and how I refer to the plant from here on out. Cheers.
Week Start:
Mongo is not looking well at all. But the roots have taken to the soil. Hopefully we'll get some new growth soon.
Week End:
forgot to take another mid week Mongo pic, but they got a bit of green in their leaves and has been showing signs of bouncing back! No more nail-biting for now 😅
Mongo has been pretty slow in growth, and if I had to guess, I'd say Mongo has been putting more work in the roots and establishing that before growing leaves. Now that new leaves are coming in I'm expecting aggressive growth. When the roots touch out the bottom of the cup I'll put em in a big 5gal air pot
9/17 update, roots poking out the bottom of the cup will transplant this weekend
9/20 update, was transplanted in a 5 gal pot on 9/18, and has been transitioned to Green Gro nutes for the test of the grow
Week start:
mongo looks to have taken well and gotten over any transplant delay. But it looks like revegging is taking a while. For nutes I'll be using the Green Gro veg nutes they have a bit of smell but it looks like the soil and plants takes well to it. I'm using the Green Aminos as a foliar spray to help mongo through the revegg stress, but may also use it the next water.
Week start:
Mongo is really putting the MON in monstercrop, these leaves look wild. Now that we are starting to see more new growth, it is growing pretty fast. I'll have to start taking more frequent pics.
Week Start:
I didn't bit if defoliation on the top of mongo, a.k.a the original stem. I think the stem from the original cjtteling is just gone at this point, but the new growth is non stop. This past weekend I gave all veg nutes, but coming up (10/10) I'll be doing half veg and half of the pride lands bloom
Week End:
mixed in some Seabird Guano (5tbs) for the early flower period, will be adding again at FW5 start. The pridelands veg will be cut off, since it has a lot of N. This time I did 2tbs veg and 2tbs bloom for this week's top dress. Started to show some pistils
Week Start:
So far mongo has started stretching really well. I started a lil LST on it to spread out the canopy. Not gonna really remove the undergrowth unless it's a leaf blocking a budsite.
Overall, monster cropping went well, unfortunate that mongo didn't get to finish flower, but it looled great going into week 3 of flower. Oh well, we will make sure to grow other purples :)
