..and we're back, part II.
Saw the Chem Bomb Auto in the new 2020 HSO release and got them along with my Chocolate Mint OG Autos. Also got two UK Cheese as the free throw ins for a later grow!
Haven't had experience with the photoperiod strain but very excited to grow two alongside the two CMOG.
Both strains have two seeds in a wet paper towel/two plate sandwich on the top shelf of a dark closet until they pop.
Got more Destiny Dark Matter organic super soil and ProMixHP to mix in from my local grow store + new fabric pots to throw into the rotation.
Also got some Big Bug from Advanced Nutrients to try out with this run alongside the basic Micro-Grow-Bloom nutes.
Thanks for coming back, sorry for being away so long, let's do that h̶o̶c̶k̶e̶y̶ growing.
DAY 2 - 09/03/20
Basically 24 hours in paper towel and already plump, dark, and splitting on one seed/forming root.
Humboldt has not disappointed yet. Tent is set up and needs a clean, fill the new fabric pots, and by the end of the weekend I should have a nice purple glow going in the tent.
Be safe!
OFFICIAL DAY 1 - 09/06/2020
Seeds have been in and both took perfectly, one is already starting to form it's second set of growth. Both in smaller pots right now but will be transferred to the new RootPouch 5gal once they get a week or two in. I was using VivoSun form Amazon after ordering it for my first grow but I've reused them enough times I just grabbed a few more from my local grow shop.
They are in a mix of Destiny Dark Matter organic super soil and ProMixHp for the Mych + better drainage. Will be the same in the fabric pots as well.
Thanks for stopping by and throw down a like and/or follow so I can return the favour!
Be Safe 😷

Week 2 - Day 10 - 09/15/2020
1 week until transplant to 5gal! Both coming along great in the 3:1 mix of Destiny Dark Matter/ProMixHp.
Just plain water until next week, will feed with water/molasses and let mostly dry out before the transfer.
The Chem-Bombs sprouted earlier and put in a day before the CMOG in the other diary so they're a bit ahead.
Will be starting LST around Week 3 once the stems strengthen up and they're in the 5gal pots.

Day 16 - 09/23/2020
Plants named! Step-Brothers themed "Dale" and "Brennan" for the newly transplanted Chem-Bomb Autos!
Moved them over to the Root Pouch 5gal and had a way smoother transplant than my last Sour Diesel Auto grow 😅 I did notice I had better results with the stress that came from a bad transfer so I'm interested to see if these do as well in the long run.
Pots filled with 3:1 mixture of Destiny Dark Matter Living Soil to ProMixHP for extra drainage and mycorrhizae. (Grandma's Organic Molasses)
Fed both Chem-Bombs and CMOGs with a light Molasses+Water feed and will be getting their first light Advanced Nutrients M-G-B feed by the end of the week.
Might need to stretch out and/or add soil to the CMOGs so I can get them higher up and put all four into a ScrOG if it works out/get big enough in time!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my diary! Throw down a like and/or follow so I can return the favour! 🙏

Day 21 - 09/28/2020
WEEK FOUR BEGINS! Will be busy this week so updating now at end of W3 to avoid falling behind.
Lots of growth this week in the "Step-Brothers" grow with Dale the largest of my four plants so far.
First big feedings this week with a gallon of Molasses/Water mix split between the two Chem-Bombs and CMOG in my other diary then finished with a plain water rinse to keep the Molasses off the top layer of soil. Avoid attracting any little apartment bugs like fruit flies. Will start sprinkling with diatomaceous earth if by W4 anyways.
Started the first round of basic LST since Dale and Brennan are a little ahead of the CMOG Autos, having sprouted a few days before.
Just using basic green soft ties and steaking for now, hoping to get these four plants into a ScrOg by W5/6 if I can keep them even. Will have to clip down the RootPouch handles if the plants are not above it by then 😅
Will probably stick with Molasses/Water feeds for the first half of the week since they were only transplanted recently. Will be starting light Advanced Nutrient M-G-B feeds by end of this week or start of W5!
Thanks for checking this week out! Throw down a like and/or follow so I can return the favour 🙌

Day 38 - 10/15/2020
...HERE COMES THE FUN PART!
Full nute feeds, ScrOG getting together once a main stem on my Chocolate Mint OG Auto in my other diary heals up. i got a little rough with it in LST yesterday and she's taped up for a few days😱
Chems are shorter but more developed secondary sites with the LST. A canopy is starting to form on its own but should go nicely into a ScrOG for Week 2 of Flower.
Nothing but the basic skunky vegetation smell but hopefully over the next two weeks it will start to get specific to the strain.
Didn't have a chance to pull them out for a good photo session since I had just fed them/chased with another gallon of plain water so the pots were wet.
Back to work now but will try to keep up with higher quality posts, especially once the buds start coming in 🙌
Thanks for stopping by! Throw down a like and/or follow so I can return the favour!

PICTURE VIDEO UPDATE - 10/28/2020
Day 49 - 10/26/2020
Bud site established. Nice big base in relation to my tent. Both nice and strong with new LST + Accidental HST in the last week and a half.
Made the best Screen for a ScrOG i've made so far but the accidental breaks during LST/HST didn't heal up in time for me to risk a snap getting them in the net.
Good news is the screen is ready and waiting for the next grow (Might go back to photoperiod)
Very excited to watch the buds grow so i gave them their final major tie down and defoliation to get the light/air flow set so the final weeks can be hands off.
Gave a feeding of Molasses/Water on the 24th and will give another full nute mix feed today or tomorrow (27th/28th)
Going to take pictures of the Chocolate Mint OG Autos and give them a final snip/clip down today and get that diary updated by the end of the week as well 🙌
Thanks for checking out this week! Throw down a like and/or follow so I can return the favour! 💪

Week 8 - Oct 26 to Nov 2nd
Smooth week! A bit of a late November heat wave brought my room up to near summer temperatures 😵
Crisped the tips a bit with the heat and upping the nutes. This advanced nutes stuff is very salty for a soil grow and even the small amounts reported above, split between the 4 plants, still end up getting to the fan leaves. Using Molasses and plain water feeds between nute feeds this stuff is still very touchy.
The more I type about it, the more I realize it wasn't that smooth 😂
Still the best base/biggest four plants I've had and the Chem-Bomb Autos are way fatter bud wise compared to the Chocolate Mint Og Autos but they were a little ahead in development even though they all germinated in the same week.
More in Week 9!
Thanks for checking in! Drop a like and/or follow so I can return the favour 🙌

Day 56 - 11/09/2020 - "Step-Brothers" Chem-Dawg Auto Grow - Week 8 (Nov 3-10)
Last few weeks to a month! The flower/bud sites are way bigger on Dale and Brennan compared to the two Chocolate Mint OG Autos that were started at the same time.
Very excited as the I'll start breaking out the good DSLR camera and lenses for the final stretch for those good bud shots once they start taking over the pistil heavy pre-buds.
Gave another full nute feed 4 or so days ago in Week 7 and watered them with just Molasses+Water then a gallon of water split between the four to keep the top layer form attracting bugs.
I had diatomaceous earth coating the top last week and will apply again tonight or tomorrow once the top isn't wet enough to suck it all down. Make sure any gnats or fruit flies dont set in during the final month when no chemical intervention could be used. Haven't seen anything yet but always add it into the mix at this point as a preventative measure and to get some silica in the plants for the flower months to add some strength to the stems to hold up buds etc.
Will be feeding again in a couple days to avoid a mild PH flux i had in Week 7 allowing the soil to dry out a bit too much between watering.
Gave them the last air flow/light blocker defoliation so now it will be hands off unless something major happens or any problem spots are seen before harvest. 🙌

Day 65 - Week 9 (Nov 12-Nov 18 2020)
PICTURE UPDATE: Nov 25 2020
Big. Ol. Buds. The Smell? oh just imagine the smell. they started off really fruity/grape more to what i expected form the CMOG but in the last week has come into its own. Sweet, Gassy, Fruity, I can already smell hints of the ripe final bitter gas on the fingers after a little work on the plants.
Most crystals I've been on a plant I've grown as well. This is what I imagine cartoon or movie weed would look like, very excited to see the small improvements in my growing in the 2 or so years I've been at the hobby.
Throwing a few pictures of Brennan, one half of the StepBrothers themed ChemBomb Auto grow to hold the diary over until I can get the rest of the photos touched up/watermarked.
Wait until you see the main bud already on Dale.. literally twice the size of the one on Brennan.
Broke out the good camera:
Canon 760D
Sigma EX 18-50mm
LED Light Panel
More shots coming up taken with the 75-300mm US Canon as well.
They are thirsty, hungry and already fading quite a bit. Had to up the nutes a couple times this week and start adding Molasses/Big Bud to the water between nute feeds.
Also had to change my feeding style and add more nutrients and scale up to a 2.5 gallon (6-7ish? Litres) between the 4 plants so I created a small concentrated mix of the nutes to spread across multiple jugs. I usually just split one jug of nute water between the 4 plants (2 Chems, 2 CMOGs) then rinse down with water but ended up with 2 gallons of nute water and and half gallon of plain just to wash down the top layer and get a bit of run off.
Still tinkering with adjusting the branches to get the most light on each bud site. Both plants are way ahead of the CMOG in terms of size/ripeness.
Might have to keep these ChemBomb Autos in an extra week to give it the couch lock effect I want from it and should keep my CMOG Auto a bit lighter as it takes the time to catch up.
Would be ideal to chop together so I don't have to hang dry the first few days in light since i only have the one tent for now.
ADDING MORE PICTURES ASAP. Been a long time since I opened Adobe CC on my computer and a lot of lockdown inspired low security sites so the editing process has been a bit slower. 😡😂
Have more of this week and the photos for Week 11 have already been taken today.
All a matter of editing..
Will be updating Week 10 and 11 with more pictures soon!

Day 71 - 11/24/2020 - Week 11 (Nov 19th to 25th 2020)
Home stretch. Hope the last week + upcoming days of dark are going to add just a bit more weight to them but even the lower buds are looking plump and tasty.
Gave them a larger nute dose of the PH Perfect + Big Bud + Molasses early in Week 11. Just followed up today with a Molasses + 2mL Big Bud to 1gal water.
Might hit it with ONE more full nute feed and keep an extra Week 13 for the flush + to make sure it's a REAL Stoney-Bologna 😴 (lolol i can't believe that rhymes when you say it outloud 😂
The Chocolate Mint OG Autos from my other diary are about a week behind in the ripening process and I want to harvest all 4 same time. Might even take the CMOG Auto a bit early if I have to and have it as my Sativa-leaning day time smoker. 😇
Excited to get back into the photo side of it as well, good way to kill quarantine nights by slowly plugging away at those. 💪

Day 86 - 12/01/2020 - Nov 26 to Dec 2
The Step-Brothers have become best friends, made room for activities, broken up Nancy and Robert, fallen out, and now about to take the stage at the fucking CATALINA WINE MIXER.
Gave them one small last feed of 1 Tsp Molasses + 1mL Big Bud in a gallon of cold water at the beginning of the week and plain water near the end.
Dale and Brennan are definitely done as this post but giving them one more water rinse during W13 and letting them dry out before putting them in for a day or so of dark before the chop.
AMAZING frosty candy buds with a heavy grapefruit + gas smell 😍 "You see those red hairs?" "Yep, I SEE those!" - Thurgood Jenkins
Finally got some pictures set up and if @humboldt_seeds_organization needs the originals without watermark let me know and i'm sure we can work something out 😘
The flowers themselves seem pretty dense wet so hopefully it stays nice and compact after the dry/cure. Between these two Chem-Bomb Auto's and my Chocolate Mint OG Autos they have the potential to be the best "looking" buds I've grown yet 🙌

Day 93 - Week 13 - Dec 3 to Dec 10 2020 - ADDED PHOTOS 12/15/2020
They have been flushed. Just letting them fade out and pack on the last little bit of density.
Putting them in the dark sometime around Dec 15 to finish it off before the chop.
Going to wash my buds for the first time! Feel free to drop your method below, always love learning what other growers are doing 🙌
Got some new sheers form Second Nature Hydroponics in Mississauga, Ontario; my local grow shop who has had my back from my first tent to every bag of soil/pot I need.
The smell is amazing, fruity grapefruit, gassy citrus, going to be a reallllllly nice flavour out of my GPen 😎
The buds feel really dense so hopefully it keeps that same energy during the dry/cure 😂
This will be the final post before harvest! Thanks for following along and check back soon for the money shots 🙏
Final Plant Stats:
Dale - 17 INCHES tall - 13 INCHES wide - COLA: 5 INCHES x 2 INCHES
Brennan - 18 INCHES tall - 14 INCHES wide - COLA: 6 INCHES x 2.5 INCHES
Thanks for checking in! Pay off soon... Throw down a like and/or follow so I can return the favour! 🙏🙏🙏

VIDEO?!

Smell is starting to come down from the fresh cut, definitely has a great look to the bud as the cure goes on, have two 8 gram boveda packs in there after a few days with one that was WAY too big for it 😂
Brought down my Chocolate Mint OG in my other diary right now as well, way more weight to that last plant... probably more than both these Chem Bombs combined, great genetics over @Humboldt_seed_organization 😎

PHOTOS ADDED: DEC 23 2020! MORE COMING!

DEC 19 2020 - Harvest Day
Chem-Bomb Auto .. DONE.
Step-Brothers ... CHOPPED.
Buds.. TRIMMED.
Giving them my first bud wash tomorrow! Already juiced the lemon, have the spring water, and off-brand baking soda because COVID has every place sold out of Arm&Hammer 😂
Dale: 50 Grams Wet Buds/Stem
15 Grams Trim/Larf = Total 65 Grams Wet
Brennan: 55 Grams Wet Buds/Stem
12 Grams Trim/Larf = 67 Grams Wet
Total Wet: 132 Grams (Buds/Stems/Trim)
Looks like I'm getting in and around the "1 Ounce per Auto Plant" range with my basic soil/hand feed system. The CMOG from my other diary looks like it will be my first 1OZ plant when it dries.
With my past experience of wet buds drying out to about half of bud weight, I'm hoping that they both come in JUST under an Oz a piece.
Going to update with more pictures, going to take a couple days to dry and get a good weight and hopefully get somewhere close to the 64 grams of the ONLY sized Boveda packs I have right now 😇
--
UPDATE - Dec 20 2020 - Cure Day
😵😭 i once again got my hopes up by pulling the classic male "over-exaggerating" and all the wet weight came from the main stems. After 3 days or so of drying both plants together came in just under an ounce. The smell is great and I have no doubt it's quality bud but I need to up my density game somehow for sure. New nutrients or better set up, still very low-end with all my equipment as I've just slowly been finding affordable pieces to add as I go. Maybe more light? Feel free to hit me up below with ideas short of switching to a Hydro set up 😹 I can hardly afford my bags of soil so I definitely couldnt keep up with the financial costs of a Hydro set up yet 😓
Have had a few bowls of the dried/uncured bud and it's very nice, clean, and crazy good for being uncured at this point. Just the classic flower taste from the chlorophyll but the pineapple/tropical taste is coming through nice already.
Final Stats:
26g Dried Bud
26g Trim
