Week 1.
Welcome to a new run. Temperatures are still fairly low, which is why I’m having another auto run instead of a photoperiod strain run.
I’m growing 12 plants, making it 5.3 plants per sq ft SOG style, meaning single cola plants.
This run is a soilless run: 50% coco and 50% perlite. I’m using 1 liter plastic pots that are elevated an inch or so from the ground, leaving a small space for a reservoir of sorts; as great as fabric pots are, the 1 liter fabric ones need watering every day; I hope that the plastic ones with the small reservoir will need watering every 2 or 3 days.
11 of 12 plants germinated, so I quickly germinated another, that’s 12 out of 13 seeds germinated, pretty good. Right side is White Widows, Left side are Royal Gorilla, the 2 front center plants are the 2 Royal Jacks.
It seems that 0,5 EC was too much for some of them, so I gave them plain water; anyway all survived, but it set me back almost a week in their development.
Week 3.
Started the week feeding at 0,8 EC (400 PPM), by the end of the week I upped it to 1,2 EC.
Both sides are recovering although the right side looks a lot better than the left side, no idea why, anyway. At 20 days old I turned on the full lights and set the light schedule to 18/6.
Week 4.
At the end of last week all plants had a marked yellowish tint to them, so I upped the feeding again to 1,5 EC, now sure they are fully recovered. I’m also removing any side branch as soon as they appear so the plants concentrate all their resources in a single cola.
Week 5.
There’s been lots of growing this week, plants are showing sex.
I’ll have to do some defoliating soon to avoid wet spots and probably some HST.
Also, since temperatures are warming up, I set the light to 18/6, so there is no light while ambient temperatures are on the high side.
Week 6.
Where I usually do some HST as an emergency measure when the plants grow into the lights (and over them), this time I did it as a precaution, but in a more extreme way; I completely flopped the tops over.
Other than that, it’s flowering time. Might give the plants some grow nutes, there is some yellowing in the lower leaves.
Week 7.
I fed some grow nutes this week just to prevent the yellowing from spreading and oh boy they stretched. I had to keep doing some major HST to keep the plants height in check. By the end of the week there were signs of P and K deficiency, which is why I’m stopping the grow nutes and switching to full bloom nutes and some PK boost.
Week 8.
Stretching (and training) is mostly over. The plants are basically in cruise control now. Lower leaves have been fading and a few have fallen. Buds are really starting to take shape now.
2 to 3 weeks left I believe
Looks awesome! I love the simple yet full setup you have going on
I wish RQS would ship to Canada so I could get some good seeds for once. Anyways im following happily along enjoying the show. Nice stuff man
