Finishing up my first week of my micro sea of green grow in my 2x2 tent. Due to some overwatering that happened on the day I planted the seeds (I usually spray until they come above soil, but this time I used the turkey baster which was a big mistake) I had to dig th out a bit so they didn't suffocate in the dense soil. Because of that, the shells on the seeds didn't have a proper chance to pull off in the soil, so all three had to be removed with tweezers which I believe caused some stunted growth in at least one of the seedlings. Time will tell for the others, but exciting times ahead with these genetics. I saw purple colours in the first set of true fan leaves, so should be a colourful plant in the end!
As you can see, not all of the girls are doing so well. Going to continue to monitor growth, and move them around if needed. Looks like my idea of doing a mini SOG will no longer be attainable though...
The straggler was unfortunately removed. The second one is looking a bit stunted as well compared to the larger girl, so will continue to monitor closely.
And then there were one! We started with three, but are down to the strongest girl. She's been moved into the main tent to live the rest of her life under the 240 watt Phlizon light. Had to do some serious defoliation to get her to fit into the tent with the other Sweet Seed autos. Cut off one of the main branches, and several other secondary branches. Time will tell, but check out those purple calyx's!
She's continuing to stretch nicely and fill up her space. Surprised with the growth I'm seeing with the one gallon pot, I just hope she doesn't get root bound! From the first signs of these purple buds, it looks like I'm in for an interesting ride with this plant!
Message to the purple gods....thank you for blessing me with such a beautiful plant :) ... Coming close to the final stretch, I think she's almost done growing. Now it's time to fatten up!
The stretch is finally over, and now we're on to feasting, aka time for the buds to fatten up. The colours on this plant are truly incredible! Could not ask for a more beautiful plant... I haven't been able to update this diary on a weekly basis, so information is missing, but will be updating weekly going forward if you want to follow along for the rest of the journey!
This little one gallon girl is pushing along nicely. I'm shocked that aside from the yellowing leaves, which I believe was just a bit of a nitrogen deficiency, she seems to be the healthiest of all of my plants. My other 3 autos have had low soil pH issues recently, which has caused a nutrient buildup in my root system, but I think this girl has been blessed with that extra bit of runoff, and from also being watered daily, giving the roots no time to dry out. Loving the structure of these colas though, they're really filling out, and a lot more time to go! Excited to see what she'll bring to the scale :D
Week 6 is officially in the books! Still in utter awe over this plant...really can't believe she's been growing so well in a one gallon pot! I said it before, and I'll say it again, I haven't seen such a large indoor cola...can't wait to see how much she swells over the next few weeks! I'm also starting to check the trichomes, and noticing some amber, but still a LONG way to go. Exciting times ahead :)
This purple goddess is still pushing! I've been monitoring her trichomes daily, and am definitely starting to see a few amber heads pop up, but we're still milky for the most part. Sad that this girl has been foxtailing like crazy, but still can't figure out if it's genetics or caused my high heat. Considering it's only started happening recently, I'm more inclined to think this was caused from the heat unfortunately. Aside from that she's looking great. Her leaves are starting to fade now that I've started the flush, but out of all of my plants, she is definitely the healthiest in terms of her leaves this late into flowering, and it's crazy to think that she's been trapped in that one gallon pot where she is surely rootbound. Going to be fun to take that pot apart come harvest time!
Almost time to harvest! Second week of the flush is officially in the books. This is the first time I've ever flushed a plant, and definitely starting to see the differences (for one, having the leaves fade naturally and release most of their chlorophyll VS harvesting a green plant and having that all break down in the dry). Sad that I haven't been able to keep the temps down, and I don't have a dark room to put her, but I think she will be fine! I've started adding a few ice cubes to the pots in the mornings to try to simulate that winter is coming. I have also been simulating animal bites on the lower stalk, to stress the plant out even further to produce more trichomes as a defense mechanism. Hard to tell what's working better, but I can definitely see myself using this method in the future!
Overall this was a fun grow! It was supposed to be a mini SOG with other 1 gallon autos, but they didn't make it unfortunately, so had to make the best of it! Happy I kept going cause I was extremely happy go grow such a beautiful pheno. By far the deepest purple colours I've ever seen on any plant. Just hope I'll see it again :) .. anyway, not a bad yield for a one gallon grow! 60 grams of bud and another 18 of larf and shake. Time to cure and enjoy 😎
