So far this week: RO water system delayed because of smoke in the air. Started as seed with light nutrients and have been adding bottled water (PH'ed) so should be good for a bit longer. Too few clay pebbles. Ringed net with agate below water ring to prevent direct light on water. Plan for the grow: Top at fourth node, screen just above. Need to watch vertical space.

Can anyone tell me why people say to turn off the drip function in DWC after the roots have reached the water?

osmotic pressure causes the water to track up the roots anyway... sort of like how the end of a towel in water will cause it to "suck" up the water.. I keep my water flowing for water health/quality reasons.. Moving water is then sitting stagnant water.. Either way I'd recommend a high quality air pump..

Getting algae on the rockwool and roots are in the water. Fully changed the water with fresh nutrients. Issue changing the water. Cant pull the bucket out from under the plant after screen is installed. Plan: place 1/2 inch board under rear of bucket and use the water level tube to drain. This leaves about a cup of water in the bucket. Flush with at least half gallon of water and drain before new nutrient water is added. Need to get a funnel that will fit the water tube for filling. Looks like algae is o.k. but could cause problems like gnats. It is caused by too much water in the cube and I am keeping the drip ring on to improve circulation. Cover with more clay or agate. Installed RO. Problem: New leaves are curling. It looks like heat or light burn. Will raise light several inches. Make sure to raise lamp as she grows.

General Hydroponics Liquid KoolBloom NPK is 0-10-10 and FloraBloom is 0-5-4. Are there any other differences between them? Can I add twice the volume of FloraBloom when the schedule asks for KoolBloom?

Sorry i have to disagree with Larimar "I would say yes.......if its just a question of mathematics" uhm no that's not how that works and that's not how these ratios are determined. I can get into it , but long story short just use the florabloom at the recommended doses otherwise you'll burn your plants. Hope this helps ! 🚀

Changed out water. Growth is compact and the lower leaves are trying to lay on the rocks. I don't want to cut them off yet. Will cut them off when I add the screen. I turned off the drip and added a second air stone to the water. I worry that the drip was helping keep the tent cooler so will keep an eye on it and change back if needed. Creased a leaf as I was changing lines. If I had not ordered the seeds directly I would not believe she is a sativa. The leaves look too fat and short to me. 9/29 Pinched the top growth and installed screen just above. Lamp is still at 18 inches, will lower it when she fills out under the screen. She is at least 5 inches tall now.

Added about 3/4 gallon of water over the last week. Checked the PH of the water I changed and it is about 6.5. Left board (for water change) under back of bucket because of the installed screen. She is starting to smell when I adjust her. No pictures today. Plant dripping water issue. 10/5 She has so many leaves. Gently pressing them down under the screen to fill it out. Only doing minimal cutting until screen fills. I plan to cut many of the lower leaves off when I switch light cycles. May need to trim some leaves sooner because there is moisture where some overlap. Thinking of adding another fan. *Need to rearrange the setup for the next grow. Reasons/ideas: - Can only access the front of the tent. Inability to maintain the rear facing of the plant easily. - More vertical height. Currently the tent is raised by cinder blocks, look at cutting a hole in the bottom of tent and support board and sink bucket. Would need new drainage, entire new bucket system; reuse pump and some plumbing. 10/7 Spotting could be caused by PH; checked PH 6.5. Have been using liquid to test PH but ordered a digital one that will be here this weekend. Lowered the PH in the water I am using to top the bucket to 5.5 to help counter PH rise over time.

I trimmed several leaves on the lower part of my plant yesterday and noticed that they are dripping water. Not wet, as I was taking a picture the droplet fell. Is this normal?

I noticed some discoloration on several leaves but not widespread. I think it is calcium deficiency but to make sure. Whatever ails her, a more informed opinion would ease my mind. Also, if it is a calcium issue, would raising from 3 to 5ml/gal of calmagic resolve it? (DWC)

That looks like a Calcium deficiency to me more so than a Magnesium one. If your PH is 6.5 I'd say it is too high for a Hydro grow. I'd recommend getting it to 5.8 to 6.1 so that both Cal and Mag are able to be taken up together. Since Calcium is immobile the plant can't "rob" it from older growth. Here is a good link that has the Botaincare Nutes image that will help you out. https://i.pinimg.com/736x/2b/b6/c4/2bb6c485409b6a2515024e8e91dfee2a.jpg

Had water issues last week, I think I added about 1.5 gallons during the week. Will start changing water every 1.5 gallons of water added. This will be the last veg week unless there is an issue, plant is filling screen but really starting to push. Going to start trimming the lower leaves. Received PH meter, after calibration it is stuck at 7.27, returning it. Back to using the visual method. Changed water, aimed for a 5.5 PH, low range but it should go up after flushing the roots and over the week. 10/11 She really does not want to be under the screen. Filling out fast, may trim before next watering. *Starting to have to spray the room with air freshener after adjusting the branches, no notable smell when opening the tent. 10/13 Trimmed several large leaves. I don't think that I can get her to spread out much more so I am switching to 12/12 at 18 inches today. I am not changing the nutrient water today, am waiting until Saturday or another 3/4 gallon of water added. I think the next grow I will give the plant more room under the screen, goes to the need for more vertical space. 10/14 Ordered new inline fan. The new one is supposed to be quiet, (30db), and have temp and humidity settings, I will also move the can-filter out to exhaust so I can free up vertical space. Exciting!

Lowered light and changed cycle three days ago. Changed out the inline fan, super quiet. Now the air compressor sounds really loud, might try to find a better one. 10/21 Had an issue with the new fan and the tent got too warm. Some leaves curled their tips, the ones near the tent walls were the worst. Not all bad though, I needed to trim a few leaves anyway. Fan issue resolved, cat cannot change settings anymore. 10/23 Changed water, same nute mix.

10/25 I have added about a quarter gallon of water each day for the last week. I really need to get a digital PH meter, I am using the liquid right now. I am making sure the water change PH is 'Yellow' PH 6.0, and adding RO water PH of 'Orange' 5.0. When I tested the water at last change it was 'Yellow' so I think it is working; no new issues. 10/26 Decided to trim the lower leaves. Thinned out the top a little as well.

10/31 Changed water last night. Having trouble with PH, it is causing calcium issues (I think). Ordered a good PH meter and calibration kit. 11/3 New PH meter will really help. New PH is 6.1 after adding water. Trimmed leaves again, no more trimming unless the a leaf is blocking too much light. 11/5 Changed water. .5 more KoolBloom, .5 less Grow

11/15 Busy week last week and I was unable to find time to post. I think the discoloration on the leaves is due to previous PH issues, new growth looks nice. Sticky leaves! I have been changing the water when I can no longer see a pink tint to it, I am adding about a gallon of water before each change now.

11/21 A.M. Changed water last night. I have been changing the water after I add 2/3 of the amount of PH'd water. I started the bucket using three gallons of water when changing, now the roots are taking up so much space I only get 2.5 gallons of new water. P.M. I found a feature on my phone to do closeups so I took some more pictures after she 'woke up'. I also took a photo of the back edge of the tent where I cant reach and has not been trimmed. I need to rethink either where I have the tent or growing technique. Vertical space has not become an issue.

11/28 Changed water today to the above. I think that about 75% of the heads have turned milky and about 20% of the hairs have turned. That is only on the top. One more week and I think to flush. Maybe longer.

12/5 Going to start harvesting on 12/9 so started flushing today. I think that she is ready and it has been eight weeks in bloom. More than half of the hairs are dark and trics are all milky with a few amber.

I did not weigh the buds when they were wet, I don't want to know how much water I have lost. I will post the weight before I cure them. I am also making bubble hash with the trim and will post my results next week. It will be the first attempt at hash as well. 12/17 Trimmed the buds off today, weighed 2.85 OZ! I smoked a small bud, it is smooth but has no definition in flavor yet. I am sure it will develop after curing. I tried to make ice water hash but the results were not worth it. Next grow I will dry before trimming and then make bubble hash. 12/28 I had put the larger colas in the same jar so they are not quite done yet, the other jars no longer smell like smeared poo. I think they need more time curing but the smaller buds are smooth.
