So far this week: RO water system delayed because of smoke in the air. Started as seed with light nutrients and have been adding bottled water (PH'ed) so should be good for a bit longer. Too few clay pebbles. Ringed net with agate below water ring to prevent direct light on water. Plan for the grow: Top at fourth node, screen just above. Need to watch vertical space.

Can anyone tell me why people say to turn off the drip function in DWC after the roots have reached the water?

osmotic pressure causes the water to track up the roots anyway... sort of like how the end of a towel in water will cause it to "suck" up the water.. I keep my water flowing for water health/quality reasons.. Moving water is then sitting stagnant water.. Either way I'd recommend a high quality air pump..

General Hydroponics Liquid KoolBloom NPK is 0-10-10 and FloraBloom is 0-5-4. Are there any other differences between them? Can I add twice the volume of FloraBloom when the schedule asks for KoolBloom?

Sorry i have to disagree with Larimar "I would say yes.......if its just a question of mathematics" uhm no that's not how that works and that's not how these ratios are determined. I can get into it , but long story short just use the florabloom at the recommended doses otherwise you'll burn your plants. Hope this helps ! 🚀

I trimmed several leaves on the lower part of my plant yesterday and noticed that they are dripping water. Not wet, as I was taking a picture the droplet fell. Is this normal?

I noticed some discoloration on several leaves but not widespread. I think it is calcium deficiency but to make sure. Whatever ails her, a more informed opinion would ease my mind. Also, if it is a calcium issue, would raising from 3 to 5ml/gal of calmagic resolve it? (DWC)

That looks like a Calcium deficiency to me more so than a Magnesium one. If your PH is 6.5 I'd say it is too high for a Hydro grow. I'd recommend getting it to 5.8 to 6.1 so that both Cal and Mag are able to be taken up together. Since Calcium is immobile the plant can't "rob" it from older growth. Here is a good link that has the Botaincare Nutes image that will help you out. https://i.pinimg.com/736x/2b/b6/c4/2bb6c485409b6a2515024e8e91dfee2a.jpg
